ASA VICE PRESIDENT
Junior and Augustana Student Association Vice President Prince Adhikari reflects on his involvement with ASA. Whether in his role or personal life, he maintains a strong commitment to his community, driven by faith and purpose. The Vice President is focused on building a campus environment where excellence, service, and unity are at the forefront of every endeavor. Prior to being elected as the Vice President, Adhikari served as the Technical Director in the Teller-Sule Administration and was involved in numerous other activities and organizations across campus. Some of his significant contributions include the establishment of Augustana Model United Nations conference, competitive team, and establishment of the ASA Media Infrastructure.

ABOUT
Vice President Prince Adhikari is attending Augustana University as a political science major. Adhikari aspires to apply this knowledge to a future career in politics, law, and serving the greater community at large.
Before attending Augustana, Adhikari was heavily involved in speech, debates, and Model United Nations conferences, thus furthering his interest and engagement in the political hemisphere. He competed on stages such as Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the International Model UN Conference in New York.
"WE ALL SHOULD BE AMBITIOUS BUT ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT AMBITION ALONE ISN’T ENOUGH. IT TAKES HARD WORK, DEDICATION, AND RESILIENCE TO GET THERE,” ADHIKARI SAID. “ALONG THE WAY, SETBACKS AND FAILURES ARE INEVITABLE, AND THEY WILL TEACH US VALUABLE LESSONS, WHICH WILL SHAPE US INTO WHAT WE ARE MEANT TO BECOME. THESE CHALLENGES ARE PART OF GOD’S PLAN THAT LEADS US TOWARDS THE REWARDS OF OUR HARD WORK. THE LIFE WE DREAM OF TODAY MIGHT ALREADY BE SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM, SO WHILE STRIVING FOR OUR GOALS, LET’S REMEMBER TO CHERISH AND APPRECIATE THE SMALLER BLESSINGS WE ALREADY ENJOY."

JOURNEY AT AU
During his time at Augustana, Adhikari grew to deeply value his faith, becoming more curious about religion as a whole and his relationship with it. Appreciating the university’s Christian values and traditions, Adhikari learned to maintain a balance of being rooted in his Hindu faith. Aside from worship, he enjoys spending time in nature, embarking on adventures, traveling, and engaging in public service.
Throughout his three years of service within ASA, Adhikari established his own competitive Model UN program, expanding its impact on surrounding public schools and securing $5000 grant from President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. Other notable projects consist of leading the first Augie Access Leadership Camp (2023), expanding ASA media initiatives, advocating for international students and their housing rights, as well as standardizing communication between ASA organizations and the Student Engagement Office.
Furthermore, Adhikari's involvement extend beyond Augustana to the community. He has worked with the Sioux Area Metro and City of Sioux Falls on improving the public transportation, improving accessibility, and optimizing transit services to better serve the needs of residents. Similarly, he was named the first USAging Vaccine Grant Intern at Sanford Health and Good Samaritan Society in June 2023, where he worked on a one-million-dollar grant awarded to Sanford Health by the federal government aimed at improving vaccine access in communities across Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Iowa.
Adhikari credits his achievements to his grandparents, the first individuals in his family to ever study abroad, which influenced him to do the same. Having a year left at the university, Adhikari plans to continue his research projects on politics and governance, hold internships, and thoroughly enjoy his time in a liberal arts education.
Currently, he continues to uphold this value by serving the great state of South Dakota through Governor’s Office of Economic Development and focusing on projects that drive economic growth and support local businesses, thus shaping the state’s economic future.
THE VICE PRESIDENCY
Called to the distinguished service of the Augustana student body, Adhikari, alongside his running mate, (now) President Annie Johnston, led a successful 2024 presidential campaign. As Vice President, Adhikari focuses on new initiatives, transportation and infrastructure spending, and external affairs of the ASA.
"NEVER LET STATUS OR CIRCUMSTANCE DEFINE YOUR POTENTIAL. STAY GROUNDED IN REALITY, BUT DREAM WITHOUT LIMITS, BECAUSE THE GREATEST OBSTACLE TO SUCCESS IS ACCEPTING LESS THAN WHAT YOU'RE CAPABLE OF. GROWTH MAY BE SLOW, BUT WITH AMBITION, FAITH, AND PERSEVERANCE, PROGRESS IS ALWAYS WITHIN REACH."
