This year, I am leading the ASA LGBTQ Inclusion and Diversity (LID) Working Group - which is really easy to do because I get to work with so many amazing, passionate, and self-driven people! As a graduate student at Rutgers University, I worked with Dr. Minge Xie on developing likelihood-free computational inference methods for both large and small data. As an assistant professor at Swarthmore, my teaching interests are heavily influenced by the examination of various ethical considerations in the application of statistics and data science. My hobbies include a chaotic assortment of various forms of art and crafts and spending time with my sweet cat, Obie.
I am not a particularly outgoing person, which means it actually took a lot of stars to align for me to end up involve in this group! And I'm getting involved by working on this website (totally suitable for an introvert). Currently trying to graduate from my PhD program (*cross fingers*) and as much as trying to do just that, I also believe that we should all be attuned to what is happening in the "real" world.
I am co-leading the website team with Ben Toh for our LGBTQ+ in statistics and data science initiative. I am also a new assistant professor of computer information systems at the University of Louisville. My research interests include semiparametric regression, high-dimensional statistics, tree-based methods, and non-profit and healthcare operations.
I’m beyond grateful for the support and vision of this group! Please join us. :-)
