Words from the ASA President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As the 2020 president of the American Statistical Association, I had the opportunity to establish presidential initiatives and I wanted to focus on supporting our LGBTQ+ colleagues through a number of projects, some of which you will see on this website. I am fortunate to be joined in this work by a group of incredibly talented and generous individuals. Our collaboration began prior to my presidential year when I had the privilege of chairing a panel at the Women in Statistics and Data Science Conference 2018. From that panel came an article and resource supplement for Significance magazine and the formation of this working group. We are committed to sustaining a just, equitable, diverse and inclusive community and hope you will join us.

Sincerely, Wendy Martinez, 2020 ASA President
