Wireless and mobile communications have become an essential part of our lives and been growing massively into connected devices and various industrial applications. The aim of the module has been to introduce advanced techniques and ideas in the field of wireless communications, and to equip the students with appropriate research methods and skills important in the design and analysis for 5G, 5G-Advanced and 6G wireless systems. The topics are informed by lecture notes, research papers and laboratory programming.

This module introduces the basic principles of digital communications and applications. Mobile phones, WiFi, satellite, internet, and digital TV are all examples of digital communication systems that we all use every day.
