In the heroic historic shadow of Kukla and Olie (1960s), the yearlong tale unfolds through, give or take, a 300-panel journey, from epiphany to rehearsals perhaps more cringe worthy than Rupert Pupkin or Arthur Fleck, our anti-heroes embark from home rehearsals to drugs and public access to live audiences. Do they have what it takes? Does the audience? What's the worst that can happen. Delusion? A silent room? Really bad jokes? A rare book on a shelf? Faced with impending doom, their silent, elusive producer-manager ardently believes in them, even so far as to produce a hand sewn chronical, despite some much older and conservative audience members declaring after a test screening, "It's too esoteric for my taste." "I don't get it," and "Two out of 10 ain't bad." Undeterred, like a cable documentary of an incestuous family, adventurous readers surely will bear witness or and have the very rare opportunity to beg to differ.
