材料の斧折樺（おのおれかんば）は、非常に堅く、木目の美しい木材ですが、 現在、手に入れるのが難しい、希少な材料です。新築祝いなどの、贈り物にも最適です！

Betula schmidtii, in Japanese this tree is calling “Ono-Ore-Kamba” which is mean “breaking the hatchet birch”. As you can see from this name, it is possible to break the hatchet, so solid its wood is. The fallen leaves of big tree is so heavy, that it could not even swim on the surface of water. To survive in the severe weather condition, this tree grow only by 0.2mm in diameter per year. Nowadays it is mostly prohibited to cut it down, and for such a rare tree the price is very low.
その名の通り、斧が折れるほどに堅く、水に沈むほど比重がある落葉高木。
過酷な環境に生きるため年に0.2mmしか太くならない日本の樹である。
現在では、ほとんど採れない、大変に希少価値の高い樹でもある。
