How will I know if I'm officially in the show?

Do I need experience?
No, none at all. Everyone is welcome, beginners, first‑timers, and seasoned creatives.
Is this paid?
Some crew positions may receive payment depending on door money and funding.
Designing and modeling are not paid roles for this show.
Can I join if I’m new?
Yes, we want to grow our community and welcome all levels of experience.
What’s the age requirement?
Preferably 18+.
Can I participate in more than one role (ex: model + crew)?
Yes, depending on the role and your availability.
Do I need to audition to model?
No. Designers will work with their models individually.
How many designers will be accepted?
Around a dozen.

Yes, we always need volunteers for setup and backstage support.

How many looks can a designer submit?
Anywhere from 1 to 5, and if you want to make more, go for it.
Can I collaborate with another designer or artist?
Yes! Collaboration is encouraged. Just let me know who you’re working with.
Can I bring my own model?
Yes, absolutely, that’s encouraged.
What if I don’t know what role fits me yet?

What happens at rehearsal?
We walk the venue, practice the runway flow, and get a feel for the space and vision.
What if I can’t attend rehearsal?
Stay in contact with me, I can share the layout, flow, and expectations.
How long is rehearsal?
Rehearsals run in 30‑minute to 1‑hour blocks.
What time do I need to arrive on show day?
Designers and models should arrive anytime before 5 PM.
Rehearsal is at 6 PM, doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM.
Will there be hair and makeup on show day?
Yes, but it’s optional for designers to use.
Do designers need to provide their own models?
Not necessarily, I can help connect you with models if needed.
Are there restrictions on materials?
No strict restrictions, but we encourage reusable, sustainable, DIY, and thrifted materials.
Do I need to follow the theme exactly?
No. The theme is a starting point, not a limitation.
What is the rehearsal commitment?
There will be one rehearsal about a month before the show, and one rehearsal the day before.
Will there be a fitting day?
Fittings will be arranged individually between designers and models.
Can I sell my pieces at the show?
Yes! We can announce that your pieces are for sale and direct people to you after the show.
How will the show be promoted?
We are working on a custom flier, and like to do individual designer and crew highlights if that's something they are interested in. We just ask for a bio, a little bit about themselves, occupation, influences, what they like to create, accomplishments, anything like that.
Will there be professional photos of the show?
Yes, and video as well.
Can I use the photos for my portfolio?
Yes, absolutely. That’s one of the reasons we do this.
Will there be behind‑the‑scenes content?
Yes, we’ll have photographers specifically for BTS.
Can I bring my own photographer?
Yes, that’s totally fine.
Can I film or take photos during the show?
Yes, just tag @artbizzar_kc so designers and models can see your content.
Will designers/models be tagged on social media?
Yes, if they have social media they’re comfortable sharing.

Can I donate materials or props?
Yes, please... donations are deeply appreciated.

How does door money get distributed?
Door money goes toward materials used and paying the crew who work the night of the show. Distribution depends on the team and needs.
