This week I want you to play outside for art. Go outside and search for sticks, rocks, leaves and anything natural you find. You are going to make a radial pattern with your items, then take a picture and post it to Seesaw.
Watch this video by TED Ed for a review of Symmetry.
Radial symmetry is discussed in the video with the example of the starfish.
A dandelion shows radial symmetry. You can see that everything is the same on both sides from the center out.
Radial symmetry is when something is symmetrical around the central point.
Review the video on Symmetry.
Go outside and collect natural items you find. What is colourful? What has nice shapes? Remember to be respectful of nature when you are choosing items. Only pick things you know are okay to pick. (Not your parent's prized flowers!)
Arrange your items into a radial design. Start from the center and work your way out. It should look the same on all sides.
Take a picture and submit it on Seesaw!
Put the items back where they belong.
