Activity zones allow you to define locations in your camera’s range of vision where you want your camera to detect and record motion. When your Arlo Ultra senses motion, it determines if motion occurred in the activity zone(s) that you created. If this is the case, the Arlo app will notify you, and the recording will be saved in your video library.
Arlo Ultra differs from earlier Arlo cameras in two ways. Now you can:
Arlo activity zones may now be customised with eight points instead of four, allowing you to define more exact areas for motion capture.
Switch between up to five different activity zones and set several zones to activate at the same time. Other Arlo wire-free cameras necessitate that all activity zones be engaged at the same time.
How to create an activity zone with Arlo Ultra:
Log in to your Arlo account at my.arlo.com or open the Arlo app.
Settings > My Devices can be accessed by tapping or clicking.
To create an activity zone for an Arlo Ultra camera, tap or click it.
Tap the Activity Zones button. If you're using a web browser, go to Video Settings.
To make a new zone, tap the Plus icon. Click Create New Zone is you are using a web browser.
Slide the chosen zone to the left and press Erase to delete it from the Arlo app.
Drag any of the eight spots along the zone to resize it.
To reposition the zone, tap or click and hold within it.
Tap the pencil icon to change the zone's name. If you're using a web browser, click > next to the zone name.
Enter a name for the zone.
Tap or click Save.
