The Disarmed feature turns off the camera's motion sensors, which means no footage is recorded and no motion alerts are transmitted. This option is typically used when you don't want to record the video and instead want to watch it live stream.
Changing modes manually in the Arlo app is possible, but instead of having to do so every time you leave and return home, you can programme the app to automate your Arlo system by using Schedules. The default schedule is optimised for a regular Monday to Friday work week, and will activate the Armed function from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and disarm from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., or you may choose to turn off your inside camera. When you get home, turn on your exterior camera to keep an eye on your car in the driveway. To examine or edit your system's Armed and Disarmed mode, first choose the Arlo camera or Arlo base station, then tap on the pencil icon to the right of the Armed or Disarmed mode.
