Arkansas Club Baseball played their first series this past weekend in DFW against the University of North Texas Club Baseball Team. Ending the series with a 32 to 2 run differential, the Hogs came out swinging at the plate and dominated on the mound! On the mound, notable performances from Brody Baumann in Game 2: 6.1 IP, 5 K's and Will Ransom in Game 3 with the first complete game shutout of the year: 5 IP, 6 K's. At the plate, Roderick Gaines went 4 for 7 with 5 RBI's and Brody Baumann with the first homerun of the year!
The Hogs look to carry the momentum against Pitt State Club Baseball at Jaycee Ballpark in Pittsburg, KS. The doubleheader will be on October 14th, time to be determined. We look forward to having our best year yet!

Arkansas Club Baseball went into the Fall Break weekend slated to play a doubleheader versus new conference opponent Pittsburgh State. The Hogs have played the Pitt State Gorillas numerous times over the years and once again travelled to Jaycee Ballpark for the annual fall doubleheader.
Game 1 was started by Will Ransom on the mound. He pitched 5 scoreless innings for the Hogs striking out 6. Ransom allowed 2 hits and walked 4 batters. He was relieved by Jackson Wollscheid to start the 6th inning. Wollscheid closed out the game striking out 2, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run. The Hogs hitting was started by freshman Kurt Ippolito in the bottom of the 4th, driving in Brody Baumann. In the top of the 5th, Alex Ilgenfritz sac flied to the centerfielder to bring in Dylan Henson making the game 2-0. Game 1 ended 2-1 in a Hogs victory
Blake Bridges was the Game 2 starter and gave the Hogs a solid 3 innings of work before having to come out due to an untimely injury. Bridges only gave up 1 earned run while striking out 5. Alex Ilgenfritz came in to pitch the remaining two innings of the game, striking out 1 and not allowing a single runner on base. The Hogs offense was ignited by single from Seth Steele in the top of the 2nd scoring Ilgenfritz as a result of errors by the Pitt State infield. The rout carried on all the way to the 5th inning ending in an Arkansas run rule of 18-2. Kurt Ippolito once again contributed at the plate, this time going 4 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI's, a walk, and two stolen bases. Ryan Collins went 3 for 3 and Will Pham went 3 for 4, only adding to the overwhelming offense.
Arkansas Club Baseball will have just 2.5 weeks to prepare for NCBA Wood Wars in Louisiana. After a 5 year hiatus, the Hogs look to bring home the hardware and establish themselves amongst some of the best schools in the country!

Arkansas Club Baseball travelled down to the Monroe, Louisiana to play in the NCBA Wood Wars tournament this past weekend. The tournament featured 11 other teams and was slated to be the biggest challenge for the Hogs yet.
Game 1 was started by Nick Pavlick. He pitched 3 innings striking out 4 and only giving up 3 hits. Nate Moen came in for relief and also pitched 3 innings. He gave up 2 runs but struck out 3. Jackson Wollscheid came into the game in the 7th inning to earn the save. At the plate, Kurt Ippolito went 3 for 3 with two singles and a double. He also drove in 1 run, walked once, and stole a base. Brody Baumann also had a solid game at the plate going 3 for 3 as well with 3 singles, 1 RBI, and 1 walk. Arkansas went on to beat Houston-Downtown 5-2.
On Saturday, Kurt Ippolito was the starter for Game 2 versus Parker University. He pitched 3 innings with 5 K's, 1 ER, while giving up 4 hits. Adam Steen, Nate Moen, and Seth Steele all worked out of the bullpen to close out the game with a combined 6 K's. Roderick Gaines and Kurt Ippolito led the Hogs at the plate going 3 for 5 between the two. They drive in 3 RBI's. Brodie Bates also added on by driving in a run and going 1 for 3 this game. Arkansas managed to hold off Parker for an 8 -5 victory.
Game 3 was started by Will Ransom who pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 hits, and struck out 3. At the plate, Kurt Ippolito and Blake Bridges were the only two to get hits going 1 for 2 each. Ippolito drove in the only run that Arkansas scored. The Hogs suffered a crippling loss as the hands of the Aggies with the final score being 16-1 after 5 innings, thus ending their Wood Wars run.

Once submitted, our president will contact you and answer any questions you may have and give you the necessary details regarding tryouts. We look forward to adding more members to our team that will help us get to the NCBA D2 World Series!
