PODCAST SCRIPT
Hello, I am an artist, and this is my creative process. I get my inspiration from my community. Wether it’s the endless colors and streaks imprinted on the streets by my beloved community, witnessing my people living their day-to-day life, the joy and grief that my family expresses, the laughter and tears that my homegirls and I share with each other, or participating in community organized events such as protests for social justice “el Pueblo unido jamas sera vencido” and Hip Hop shows that showcases various talents from my hood. It motivates me to clean my space, bump some music, light a candle, and reflect on what I have experienced and learned. As I start to create, I carry these experiences in my mind and heart, and let it pour out.
REFLECTION
Creating this podcast was a great way to reflect on my journey as an artist. Not only reflecting within my thoughts but seeing my reflection unfold through visiual representation. It was a bittersweet feeling as I got to remember good moments in my life and remember the sad ones. Regardless of the life lessons that I have endured, it has made me the artist that I am today and I am grateful for it. I have came a long way and still going at it!
In the technical side of creating this podcast, it was nice to learn a new tool to express myself. I have never been interested in creating with technology so that has held me back from learning how to use technology at its full potential. Therefore, it was a bit of a challenge to put this podcast together. My struggle with this assignment had nothing to do with understanding how to use the software to create the podcast but it had everything to do with my lack of patience. Nonetheless, this project has inspired me to be more patient at learning how to make these videos/ podcast as I believe that it will benefit me as an artist.

I was a bit nervous when the professor told us that it is time to do a group project. Mainly because this is an online class, and I do not feel comfortable talking to anyone via camera. But thankfully I had a solid group. Everyone has been helpful and kind. I felt comfortable to voice my concerns and ask for clarity. This was also my first time creating a lesson plan and creating a teacher's sample. I learned firsthand how students can get confused because my group and I got confused various times. It made me realize how easy it can be to misinterpret instructions and as teachers we must be prepared for that. Overall, it was a great learning experience, and I am glad that I was able to be taken out my comfort zone.
