BIG NEWS TO SHARE:

Dear friends,

Our “unexpected adventure” that began in January 2021, of restoring the Arivaca Dancehall and then operating it as a venue for arts & culture, environmental education, and entertainment events, has definitely been a lot of work. It’s also been fun, full of smiles & laughter, some tears too, and lots of good memories.

And now it’s time for a change, and for us to start a new adventure… though really, it’s more like resuming the one we began when we first moved to Arivaca… being retired, with a much less-scheduled life. A life with plenty of time to travel together to the “wild blue yonders” that we love, and to spend many hours in our cozy Arivaca home and garden, relaxing and enjoying other creative pursuits.

We’re now taking our annual summer break from events, but we will be back this fall with more dance, music, and art, ending with a big "wingding" of a party on December 12th to celebrate our 4th anniversary. We know there are a lot of folks near and far who will miss our events, which is why we’re giving over 6 months advance notice of this change.

The mission of the Arivaca Dancehall is to preserve and enhance this beautiful and historic property, and to use it to bring all forms of the arts and educational opportunities to the Arivaca region with no financial barrier for any attendees.

Why FREE? We believe that exposure to and participation in the arts is a basic human need, and adds to a full and happy life. As the costs for attending events of every kind have risen, they have become less accessible for many people, and we are passionate about increasing access for the community members of Arivaca and the surrounding areas!

Want to help support the dancehall? We have a donation jar out at each of our events, and we welcome any amount you'd like to give, which we use to help with our operating costs, such as performer fees, event supplies, utilities, insurance, maintenance, etc. For more information, contact us at ArivacaDancehall@gmail.com
