Personal Links and Photos
These are some links to things I enjoy. I keep them here mostly for my own sake, but they are good to share with friends too.
Here's a bunch of pictures of my dog Hudson.
Currently reading: "Somebody's Fool" by Richard Russo. Most recently, I read "Straight Man" by Richard Russo. Here's my Goodreads shelf if you're curious about other things I enjoy reading. Books that are next on my queue (in no particular order): "The Underground Railroad" by Colson Whitehead, "Oh, William!" by Elizabeth Strout, "To the End of the Land" by David Grossman.
Some pictures I took from places I visited. I am an amateur photographer (i.e. I have a better-than-average camera). I enjoy taking pictures of nature or pictures that capture some nice symmetry.
I have a growing board games collection. I like co-op games of any duration and medium-to-light competitive ones.
I have gotten into running lately. To keep myself accountable (and organized) I'll include the runs/times I've made on events:
Team Parkinson's 5k (September 2019): 28:22, pace of 9:09. Finish line photo.
Meadows Miler's 10k (November 2019): 53:17, pace of 8:35. Results site.
Cupid's Chase's 5k (February 2020): 35:11, pace of 11:19 (big oof). Results site.
Here are some problems I wrote (in Spanish) for international math contests:
My favorite puzzle: KenKen. A simple variant on Sudoku, it was often featured in the MIT Newspaper. It is known to be NP-Hard. I enjoyed FiveThirtyEights' Oliver Roeder's The Riddler. I am also a big fan of NYT's Letter Boxed and Spelling Bee.
My cooking blog from the summer of 2013. Meant more as a way of comedy relief than a tutorial on cooking. Take with a grain of salt and humor. I've since become significantly better at cooking. I'll add some pictures when I get better at taking pictures of food. It's surprisingly hard.
Art reviews I wrote for MIT's newspaper, The Tech. I wrote some articles for the MIT newspaper about movies, TV and events on campus. I have strong opinions on films, so feel free to talk to me about it.
Sometimes I stand in front of the camera:
