Interfacial Thermal and Transport Laboratory (ITTL)

MISSION: To conduct high quality innovative research for the development of sustainable products, to improve quality of life, and to educate the next generation of scientists and engineers with technical competence and social awareness.

VISION: To be regarded as a leading laboratory in interfacial phenomena, dedicated to generating knowledge and products with lasting impact.

GOAL: To exploit phase transitions at interfaces to design sustainable systems.

APPROACH: To create a diverse and welcoming environment for future generation of scientists from multidisciplinary backgrounds and foster critical thinking, problem solving, safe laboratory practices, ethical, and professional skills.

ACTIVITIES: Research related activities span (materials): manufacturing  process-structure- property correlations of advanced materials, thermal analysis of materials,  high temperature coatings, thermal interface materials, and temperature-sensitive biomolecules, (thermal analysis): phase change studies, heat transfer, calorimetry, and thermally driven processes.

Dissemination activities include-

Publishing in high quality peer–reviewed journals

Presentation of work at regional and national conferences

Outreach to K-12 students and teachers for hand on learning experiences
