This comprehensive molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and experimental study investigates the lipid bilayer interaction of delocalized and hydrophobic cations. This work represents a novel and alternative pathway to exploit pigments and dyes used for photographic emulsions as potential photosensitizers for various light therapies.
