VHSL Speech Schedule

New Information (Updated 2/11)

Super Regional (2/28): Meet at ARGS at 7:15 AM for a 7:30 AM sharp departure to Galileo. A two-and-a-half-hour drive to the Galileo Magnet School. Rounds start at 11 AM. We will order lunches for delivery to the school. We will leave after the awards, and students will text their adults to come pick them up from ARGS. 

The 2/14 Regional event has been CANCELLED. All competitors currently signed up to compete will compete at Super Regionals instead. 

Our Speech competitors have a compact schedule leading up to the State championship. We can only field two competitors in each of the speech categories. Success at this level requires serious preparation and commitment, with 24 hours to submit registration forms after each event. I need to be able to commit you as soon as possible. 

• Super Regional: February 28 (Galileo Magnet School, Danville)

• States Championship: March 28 (Salem HS, Salem, VA) – NOTE: This is an overnight trip. We had tremendous success last year, sending many competitors to States; please be prepared to fully commit to the travel and preparation necessary if you advance.

We need:

• two additional speech judges, and 

• A parent willing to carpool to Danville and back for the Super Regional (2/28).

• A parent willing to carpool to Salem and chaperone.
