A Resting Place
Grief & Loss Cultural Resource Center
Why have a grief support space?
There aren’t many places where grief is welcomed in our busy everyday lives. When grief happens, sometimes a griever might feel the social pressures or expectations to “move on”, “forget about the loss” or “get over the death”.
A Resting Place believes when grief happens, it becomes a part of who you are and how you continue to exist in the world.
A Resting Place is intentionally situated in a neighborhood/residential setting – just like a bubble tea shop, a bustling dim sum corner, or favorite mom and pop convenience store, grief is something part of your everyday life.
In a way, grief can be a neighbor – one that shows up in the most expected and maybe unexpected ways!
Perhaps today you find yourself here while exploring the neighborhood, taking a walk after eating delicious food or visiting a historic site. Perhaps you have been feeling the anguish after a recent loss and are searching for a moment to rest your grief.
Wherever or however you are today, A Resting Place welcomes and invites you in.
