Championship History
In just 29 years, Clayton State Athletics has produced a rich championship tradition. In that time they have earned a total of 69 titles and every program has had at least four champions. Women's basketball has delivered an amazing 17 championships, including the only NCAA Division II title in the history of the Southeast Region.
They are followed by men's outdoor track & field with 12 titles and men's soccer with eight while men's basketball has six and men's cross country, women's cross country, women's soccer, men's golf and women's tennis each have four. Women's outdoor track & field rounds out the championship pedigree with five titles.
Most recently men's basketball claimed the 2017-18 Peach Belt Conference Regular Season Championship on February 24, 2018. The most recent individual titles came from the 4x400-meter relay team of Churchill Ezeokonkwo, Chris Florence, Brian Sims, Jr. and Courtland White at the 2019 Peach Belt Track & Field Championships on April 20.
Overall, the Lakers have earned 33 Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championships (25 by individuals in golf, cross country and track & field) and 18 PBC Regular Season Titles. Additionally, they have two regular season and two tournament championships to their credit from their time in the NAIA as a member of the Georgia Athletic Conference.
