Rowdy Crowd

The Rowdy Crowd was a spirited faculty and staff fan group established in 1991 by faculty member Rob Taylor. Serving as the unofficial pep squad for the Clayton State College basketball team, the group was relatively small, consisting of approximately 20 to 24 members.

Despite its modest size, the Rowdy Crowd made a significant impact at Laker basketball games. Members attended every game, enthusiastically cheering on the Lakers while attempting to distract and intimidate opposing teams. Their distinctive uniform featured an orange "Rowdy Crowd" T-shirt emblazoned with green lettering, making them easily recognizable in the stands.

During games, the group gathered in the northwest corner of the bleachers, where they led cheers and created an energetic atmosphere that helped energize the home team and engage fellow fans.
