Before I answer this question let me ask you the one,

How many stars are there in the sky? (I know what you are thinking…What a stupid and stereotypical question) and your answer would be… “Infinite”. Exactly, that is what my answer to the above question. We can’t give definition of literature because Literature is very vast. It is very difficult to give definition but we can give few metaphors through which we can explain it. Literature is like a Spectacle which gives better vision to life, it is like a time travel machine which can take us into future and can bring back into the past. Literature is like an ocean which gives us pearls of knowledge and one has to dive deep into the Ocean to get the pearl. Literature is not only about fairy tales or Grandmother’s bed time stories and fantasy world but it also confronts us with the harsh reality of world, it can give us scar and it has ability to heal those scars. Literature is like a human shadow which always remains there with him, darkness of the Shadow represents those Dark realities of society which we always deny to see. Literature provides an axe to break the Frozenness of human minds.
