How Literature shaped me:
My vision has totally changed after stepping into the literature world. As a Literature student I can see the literature through various lances of theories which other would not be able to see. I feel my Self privileged because of this. Othello is famous work by Shakespeare, for ordinary reader it would be a tragedy, for me as well when I studied that in my B.A. but now when I look back I can do postcolonial study of this work. I can say that Othello was a victim of racism in that novel written by a White man. I can study women's character and how they are portrayed through the lens of Feminist study.
Various Characters From Various works taught me moral lesson of life. Harry was protected by Dumbledore, Snap and Hegrid. Harry taught me that “for everyone there someone, who has no one.” Whereas Oliver had no one behind him, Oliver Twist taught me that “life is not easy for everyone”. Elizabeth Bennett of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ “taught me not to take hasty Decision in life” From Deride I have learned that nothing is perfect , everything has its own loose point which would be able to deconstruct all which was told before. Nietzsche’s Ubermensch taught me that what matter is our own choice and free will “we are the makers of our own destiny”. Wordsworth's Daffodils made me feel in Tranquility while Wasteland make me Restless, Tony Webster from sense of an Ending taught me that we can't rely on our own memories.
Literature taught me to question and do be doubtful about whatever is said, don't just rely on whatever is said. After all question remains important than the answer It is us who shapes literature according to our thoughts and its is Upon us that how much we take into practice into our own life from literature
