I haven't been keeping up with updates at all.
Newest "improvements"
700R4 built locally (500 plus parts couldn't be happier), Corvette servos, the 9 clutches, slight "shift kit", TCI Lock-up Converter kit, TCI 4-speed Auto shifter, Phoenix Transmission 2500 Stall Lock-Up Torque converter, new posi unit & 3.42 gears. Much happier with this set-up, not a big fan of the low 1st gear but I won't complain tooooo much. Revs are happy at interstate speeds and feels good overall, definitely suggest this set-up for everyday use.
Inititally though I would have to buy a or make a crossmember for the transmission, everything I had read online said I would (came with a 350 turbo), well, didn't have to buy one. Cut about 2 or so inches off existing member mounting point, drilled new hole and whalla, bolted right in (Yeah)
Still messing with the TCI lock-up kit adjustments, not quite right yet, but the manual button works flawlessly :) I think I will get a Hurst Shifter handle with the momentary button, wire that to a ratcheting type relay and activate the lock-up converter with a LED on dash or console to activate when it's locked up, that way it is easy to see it active in case I get lazy. (Note: with the manual activation, can engage lock-up converter in 2nd, 3rd & 4th, nifty when cruising and want to keep the noise down)
Installed air-bags in the back, yeah the ride and stance are much nicer now, but omg the wheel hop is absolutely horrible now. Must get this corrected. (Looks like adjustable control arms, oh joy)
Also bought a Honda Civic 2-door parts car and the seats are just right :) Will start working on using it's console also. Electric fans will be good to keep around just in case the ones I have fail.
Replaced fuel sending unit, have a gas gauge again, hooked the factory volt meter back up and ditched the aftermarket unit.
Also re-installed the Stewart Warner shift light/digital tach, the digital unit I had in for awhile just wasn't doing it for me.
