DO NOT touch equipment until everyone is safely behind the shooting line.
Wait until everyone is done shooting, anyone may call CLEAR.
Advance to retrieve your arrows as a group. NO RUNNING!
Keep all (loaded) arrows pointed down range at all times.
A max of 5 arrows are allowed to be shot at a time.
*COMMONLY USED SAFETY COMMANDS & CALL-OUTS*
"CLEAR (TO SHOOT)!"
= Called by range officer/instructor, or last archer to clear the range area, indicating it's safe to start shooting.
"CLEAR (TO PULL)!"
= Called by range officer/instructor, or last archer to finish shooting their arrows, indicating it's safe to enter the range.
"HOLD!"/"BOWS DOWN!"/"NOT CLEAR!"
= Called by ANY archer at the range, indicating all persons need to unload their bow and stop activity.
"LAST ARROW"
= Called by range officer/instructor ONLY, meaning archers on the line may only shoot one more arrow if it's already loaded before the "CLEAR (TO PULL)" command is issued.
KEEP IN MIND, OTHER RULES AND GUIDELINES MAY BE ADDED AT ANY TIME. STAFF MEMBERS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ISSUE RANGE COMMANDS, SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS, AND ADDITIONAL RULES AT ANY TIME VERBALLY, WHICH MUST BE FOLLOWED BY ALL ARCHERS AT THE RANGE, EVEN IF NOT POSTED.
*ACADEMY TERMS & CONDITIONS*
(YOU = the "Archer"/"Archers"/"Customer"/"Customers"/"Participant"/"Participants")
SECTION 1: Personal Responsibilities of the Customer
a) While participating in or spectating any Academy lesson, especially while in the shooting range area, customers and others in their party must adhere to all posted range rules and verbal safety instructions given by the class instructor, present range safety officer, or any other employee/representative of Archery Only.
b) Customers must read, understand, and sign a current Archery Only liability waiver either online or in person before being allowed to participate in Academy services. Customers are responsible for fully reading the information on the liability waiver as well as these Academy Terms & Conditions, and ensuring that they have read the most up-to-date version of all Archery Only terms, conditions, rules, regulations, and safety information before attending their session. Academy instructors may demand reasonable proof that a customer has actually read and understood all terms, conditions, rules, regulations, and safety information provided at any time. This may include asking customers to repeat details of specific academy terms and conditions, and having the customer forfeit their class time to re-read safety information if the instructor suspects a lack of awareness around safety or other concerns.
c) Customers must notify their instructor or safety officer if they have any questions or concerns regarding their safety and well-being at the range as soon as possible. For customers with physical limitations or medical issues that may impact their ability to participate in classes or use archery equipment in general, please contact a store representative by email or telephone (provided at the bottom of this website) before your visit to consult about possible accommodations that may be made. Certain conditions may require the customer to provide their own equipment due to the complex or rare availability of certain aids or equipment.
d) Customers are responsible for ensuring they are eligible to enroll in lessons based on listed requirements, pre-requirements, and conditions. These are listed on the class pages on this website, as well as on our payment website before you need to enter payment information. Customers who are unsure of their eligibility should contact a store representative by email or telephone (provided at the bottom of this website) before enrolling. Customers who enroll but are not actually eligible will not be allowed to participate in their lesson and refunds may not be available on a case-by-case basis.
SECTION 2: Refusal of Service and/or Removal from Enrollment
a) Archery Only Academy, as well as the business as a whole, reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Archery Only employees will never discriminate against customers regardless of race, nationality, gender, religion, or other protected classes, nor consider a customer's affiliation to such group if a refusal of service is made.
b) Customers who display unsafe or inappropriate behaviors while at the range will be asked to leave the range area for some or all of their remaining shooting time in order to preserve a safe and calm environment at the range. Customers will be given fair warnings and notices regarding what behaviors and actions are not permitted before employees make the decision to remove them from the range.
c) Customers who are removed from classes may be banned from future enrollment in the Academy on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity of their action.
SECTION 3: Age Restrictions and Special Requirements for Certain Course Types
a) Due to our business and insurance policies, customers must be at least 8 years of age by the start date of their lesson to participate in any Archery Only Academy service. Customers attempting to enroll a student under the age of 8 will have their enrollment cancelled.
b) Archery Only may set additional age restrictions for certain courses at their own discretion. Additional age restrictions/limits are usually determined based on the complexity or increased physical demand of higher-level courses, or if the course is specifically catered to specific age groups (i.e. "Youth Summer Camp" or "Adult Late Night Classes").
i) Instructors may issue age requirement waivers at their own discretion for students above the age of 8 on a case-by-case basis. Customers looking to enroll with an age requirement waiver must contact the Academy Lead/Head Coach directly via email before enrolling, and must provide a written note from the Academy Lead/Head Coach when arriving for their first class. Waivers are only valid for a single course, and must be obtained again for enrollment in future courses.
ii) Instructors do not have to provide a reason for issuing or declining to issue age requirement waivers. Customers with age requirement waivers may have their waiver revoked at any time, especially if the customer is unsafe or disruptive during their lesson.
c) Certain lesson options may have additional special pre-requirements or conditions that must be met before the first day of class. Examples of these include the customer needing to have prior experience, their own personal equipment, and/or completing certain tasks or paperwork before the first day of class.
i) If a course has special pre-requirements or conditions that customers must meet prior to the first day of their lesson, it will be listed on the course/class page on this website. Customers are responsible for ensuring that they, and any others they are registering on behalf of, meet all requirements and conditions as stated on the course/class page by their lesson day.
ii) Customers who do not meet their class/course requirements or conditions before their first lesson day may have their enrollment cancelled, or may not be allowed to participate in their class until those requirements or conditions are met.
SECTION 4: Class Cancellations, Reschedules, and Attendance Policies
a) Cancellations by Range Staff:
i) In extremely rare occasions, classes may be cancelled or postponed if no member of the coaching staff is available due to sickness, personal emergencies, or other unforeseen reasons. Archery Only will always try to find alternate or substitute instructors to fill in for any classes before resorting to this option.
ii) Multi-session courses may be cancelled or postponed due to low enrollment. Management policy states these courses must at least reach 50% capacity to proceed. Courses will remain open for enrollment up until an hour before the start time of the course, but customers already enrolled in the course will receive notifications via email and/or text at least 2 days in advance if their course is at-risk of cancellation. Students who have their course cancelled will either receive a refund OR a transfer into a later-scheduled course of the same type.
iii) In these cases, email, call, and/or text notifications will be sent out as soon as possible to all registered customers of the affected lesson(s). Archery Only is not responsible for contacting you regarding cancellations if you did not provide valid contact information. These notifications will contain information on how to be rescheduled or receive a full refund. Additional compensation will not be available.
b) Cancellations/Reschedule Requests by Customer:
i) Reasonable Notice: Customers may request to cancel their enrollment at least 2 business operating days (Tuesdays - Saturdays, not accounting for closures during business holidays) before the start date of their lesson to receive a full refund or no-charge reschedule into a different session of the same lesson type if available.
ii) Last-Minute Notice: Customers requesting to cancel their enrollment within 1 business operating day (Tuesdays - Saturdays, not accounting for closures during business holidays) may not receive a full refund, or may only be issued with a partial refund on a case-by-case basis. Rescheduling into different sessions may also not be available with last-minute requests, or will be available with a rescheduling fee.
iii) i) No-Show/Late Arrivals: Customers who request a refund or reschedule after their session time has already begun may not be entitled to any refund or reschedule. Customers who are not granted a refund/reschedule request are still welcome to enroll in future classes for the regular registration fee.
c) Attendance & On-Time Policies
i) Customers are expected to arrive early or on-time to their lesson. Instructors may delay the start time of classes by up to 5 minutes to allow potentially late customers to join, but are not required to do so and may start the lesson at the exact start time regardless of whether or not the full class is present. Customers arriving more than 5 minutes late to one-time classes (i.e. the "Intro to Archery - Basics Lesson") may have their class spot forfeited if range space is limited or otherwise needed.
ii) For fully booked classes or multi-session course sessions, classes will always start on-time as long as 50% or more of the enrolled participants are present at the designated start time. Customers who arrive late in this case may still be accepted into the session but will have to wait until the class instructor is able to catch them up on any missed information.
iii) Archery Only will handle refunds or reschedules for no-show/late arrivals on a case-by-case basis for certain valid reasons (i.e. medical issues, vehicle accidents, emergencies). Showing up late due to regular traffic conditions or signing up for the wrong class time are not be considered as valid reasons to receive a refund or reschedule.
SECTION 5: Lane Splitting/Time Sharing Protocol
a) All classes/course sessions are designed with the intention that they will always reach full capacity (up to 10 students at a time). In cases where sessions reach more than half of their full capacity (50%), customers may be split into two shooting groups (i.e. "A-Line" and "B-Line") which will take turns shooting every other round. Each group will be given the same amount of rounds to shoot for the session. This applies to all academy sessions of most class/course types to ensure the instructor can provide equal attention to all customers and properly supervise and maintain safety on the range.
(For example, if an Intro to Archery - Basics Lesson (ARCH-ITA) session has 10 available spots and 8 of them are filled, the 8 archers may be split into 2 groups of 4. Each group will take a turn shooting and retrieving their arrows before switching places with the other group.)
