A flower wall like this one would be a great addition to the game room as it incorporates both the color scheme and natural elements that we want in the Treehouse.
These circular wall decorations will help the Treehouse achieve a natural aesthetic. They also mimic the cross section of trees which will subtly tie in the Eucalyptus trees outside of the building.
A greenery wall would be perfect in combination with the wood elements through out the Treehouse to create the natural look that we are going for.
One goal of the Treehouse is to be a place where students can feel like they are "in the trees". The use of wood beams on the ceiling and throughout the building will help enforce this goal.
For the atmosphere of the Treehouse, we wanted to combine the feeling of a cozy cabin and a modern learning space. Materials involved include lots of wood, glass, and sleek looking plastics.
The goal of the lower level study room is to provide a place of collaboration and community for students. A "study" bar was included to allow for groups to sit together without taking up too much space.
One aim of our proposed structure is to produce an area on campus that is intertwined with nature. This objective is carried over into the study rooms with indoor plants and plant walls.
Hanging lights were incorporated in this design to create a study space similar to a café and provide warm lighting to compliment the atmosphere.
A more private and quiet alternative to the study space on the first floor. It is designed to hold smaller groups of 2 to 4 people and individuals interested in studying alone. It also has 5 tables with computers.
The quiet study area was inspired by Gisel Library's 7th and 8th floor, specifically, by the tables that are placed by the big continuous windows. In our design, the view is of the south eucalyptus trees. Different from Gisel Library, we tried to make this area more relaxing by incorporating different plants, wall textures, and types of chairs and tables.
We wanted to use interior plants to make a quiet study place feel more relaxing than other study spaces on-campus. Therefore, we looked at restaurants and cafes where we would feel relaxed and would want to go to study at.
An area filled with nap pods so that students can relax or sleep in between classes. Meant to be a place to lay down for commuters. Inspiration pictures can be seen below.
