The plants that we have chosen for our site are ones native to the southern California environment. As our site is embedded in the historic Eucalyptus grove we wanted to add varying colors to the landscape. Some of the flora has multiple uses and can be incorporated into activities with our rooftop community garden and the Natural Learning Center.

As a companion to the interactive green uses encouraged by the Natural Learning Center, we anticipate having a small assortment of edible plants in the space, including Coastal Prickly Pear, Natal Plum, Coastal Agave, and Aloe Vera. On the rooftop, we also anticipate a variety of small fruit trees that students can plant and harvest themselves that grow a variety of fruits and berries.
