Citizens of Aquilonia… Hear me, and listen well.
Six small statues have been hidden across our city — each one carries a riddle. Touch the statue, solve its riddle, and you will earn a single letter. When all six letters are placed together, and set in the proper order, they will reveal a Roman-themed word… a Roman word of mystery … that will yield a special prize.
Seek carefully, tread boldly… and may your search be blessed.
1
A slave market’s cage, where traders call,
The statue waits, its hidden to all.
Among the bars where watchers may see,
The first small letter rests in secrecy.
2
Where Mithras guards the cavern’s farthest place,
Your second clue lies, in a cave of solemn grace.
Torchlight grows faint in chambers cold and deep,
There's your hidden letter by god's metallic feet
3
Beside Egyptian pillar, rising so high,
The third small idol holds its letter shy.
Its ancient shadow veils the Roman stone,
Where a statue lays hidden by its obelisk home.
4
In lion’s den where fear does hold its reign,
A fourth carved statue waits by dust and chain.
Beneath the arena’s echoing, distant roar,
A letter sleeps upon this sandy floor.
5
By Apollo’s gaze in a bathing house warm and bright,
The fifth small statue guards its clue from sight.
By marbled waters, in shimmering silence lie,
A letter waits for bathers who venture nigh.
6
Among the straw where the horses rest,
The final idol hides in stables, have you guessed?
In bays where hoofprints linger through day and night,
The sixth small clue awaits the seeker’s light.
May your path through Aquilonia be bright, brave traveller. Seek with keen eyes, trust your steps, and savour the festival’s magic. Each clue you uncover brings Saturnalia’s blessing closer to its return. Go with good fortune — and may the spirits of the city walk beside you.
