AP Seminar is a unique AP course because student scores are determined by a combination of tasks completed throughout the year in addition to a written exam. Most AP course scores are determined by a single exam at a single point and time.
Task 1 consists of two parts, an Individual Researched Report (IRR) and a Team Multimedia Presentation (TMP).
Task 2 also consists of two parts, an Individual Written Argument (IWA) and an Individual Multimedia Presentation (IMP) with a separately scored Oral Defense (OD).
The AP Exam has two parts. The first part (EOC A) requires students to critically read an article and respond to three questions analyzing the article's argument, credibility, and use of evidence. The second part (EOC B) requires students to use a provided set of sources to develop their own written argument in a well-structured essay.
