On Friday 29th March, Abigail Brown from the University of Manchester came in to work with some of our year 11 set 1 students. Students were given the opportunity to use algebraic tiles to visually understand completing the square. Students then got to see how completing the square is used to prove the quadratic formula. For the second half of the session, students were given a taster session of A-Level Mechanics. They were given a piece of wood that they had to find the mass of, with only a weight and a ruler. Well done to students Daniel, Sophie, Tom, Jade, Adam, Teddy, Nina, Ciaran and Angus.
