Micaiah and Matthias Becker first started playing airsoft in late 2016 when they were invited to play at a friend's house. The boys were immediately fascinated with the hobby. In December of 2018, the boys and their family moved to the Island of Guam for mission work. While on Guam, the Becker boys started hanging out with a good family friend by the name of Carson Conway. A few months after moving to the tiny island, the three boys decided to ask their parents if they could play airsoft together behind the Becker's house. The three boys drafted a contract outlining the rules and responsibility that would have to occur for them to be allowed to play. A few days later, the contract was signed by both the parents of the boys, thus allowing them to start their airsoft adventure.
At the beginning, the three boys had one spring pistol given to Matthias for his birthday. Eventually, more friends were told about the airsoft meets and more guns where bought. By 2020, the airsoft group consisted of Micaiah, Matthias, Carson, and about 9 other friends. Everyone but the Becker boys lived on a Military housing base named Apra View. This lead to the eventual naming of the group. These friends would meet weekly to play airsoft in the hot and humid jungle of Guam. The group would play for about 5 hours every Wednesday, using small spring pistols as the standard issue weapon. The Apra crew met very regularly, even meeting when Covid 19 hit in early 2020. The small group soon rose to nearly 12 consistent combatants.
In 2021, the Becker boys moved away from Guam and their small airsoft group. The rest of the military kids moved away shortly after. After returning to the states, the boys immediately continued to play airsoft, this time with their old friend and neighbor Nathan. This small group grew and grew to about the size of the previous crew on Guam. The Becker boys started buying more weapons and gear; this allowed them to invite more people into the hobby.
In late 2022, the Becker boys were once again reunited with their-long time friend Carson. Carson, who co-founded the original group, had hardly played since the depletion of the group in Guam. These three boys where able to play airsoft together one last time, this time with popular airsoft Youtuber Novritsch. Great memories were shared, but eventually the day ended and the Becker boys returned home and Carson enlisted in the Navy.
Today Apra Airsoft is a thriving ministry with about 16 players every monthly meeting. And this number continues to grow. In November of 2023, the Becker boys hosted an overnight Milsim which attracted 20 participants. These two passionate boys continue to pour into the hobby and help other younger airsofters make the memories they so cherish.
In December of 2024 Apra airsoft signed on Noah brown as the first Apra Airsoft Staff member. Since December of 2024, Apra Airsoft has grown to a staff crew of 5 young Godly gentlemen. The staff program seeks to further minister to the King George community through airsoft and public Christian outreach. Below are our current and previous staff members.
