INDUCTION PROGRAMME
WEEK -1
The Students Induction Programme(SIP) commenced with the formal welcoming of the freshers by Dr. B.S.Yadav, HOD Department of Applied Science and Humanities and the program coordinators. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. S. K. Agarwal. (Director BIET) and Mr. R. P. Singh, Dean Student’s Welfare. After lighting a lamp, the director of B.I.E.T. briefed the significance of Student Induction programme. As Dean Student’s Welfare, Mr. R. P. Singh briefed the students about the rules and regulations and anti-ragging measures taken by B.I.E.T. A brief introduction to the ASH department and its objectives was provided by Dr. B.S.Yadav, HOD Department of Applied Science and Humanities. A brief outline of the first year curriculum was also included. With the help of PowerPoint presentation, the gathering was introduced to the various departments of the institution, their respective HODs, faculty members and general orientation about the institute was. During the session the students were explained in detail on the various infrastructures, laboratories, department library, curricular and extracurricular activities, and their importance in a student’s life. Three sessions of Yoga were conducted by the external experts- Mr. S. B. Singh and Mr. Sunil Singh. They explained objectives & outcomes of Yoga, importance of Yoga, benefits of yoga practice, flexibility & mobility Asanas, Surya Namaskara Asanas, Sitting Asanas, Immunity boosting and stress Management and relaxation techniques. The sessions focused on improving mental and physical well being. Dr. B.G.Shukla, HOD of Mathematics department explained the importance of Human Values and professional ethics.
WEEK II
The second week of the Induction program started with an ice breaking Lecture on Soft Skills and Personality Development by Mr. Vineet Kapoor (PDP Trainer). Ms. Priyam Gupta's interaction with the students on the topic of career counseling and job prospects in the respective branches mesmerized the interest of the students. The students virtually met some of the alumni and got an insight into their future. Along with such interesting sessions, the HODs of many departments introduced the students to the respective departments through presentations. Besides this, the week was dedicated to the extraordinary potential of the students in which they showed their hidden talents through storytelling, personal speech and skills like role play, rangoli and mehandi competition. Technical quiz and model presentation showcased their technical knowledge .
