Our Appleton Noon Lions Club has been accepted to participate in the Trex plastic film recycling challenge.
The challenge is to collect and recycle 1,000 lbs. of plastic in a one-year period to earn a Trex bench.
We are eligible for earning 1 Trex bench a year. Collected plastic must be weighed and recycled at one of these three collection sites – Festival Foods, Pick n Save or Meijer Foods.
Please use one of the following three ways to deliver your collected plastic:
1. Bring accumulated plastic to our Lions meetings on Mondays
2. Drop off accumulated plastic on Lee’s front porch at 2101 N. Eugene St., three blocks west of Highlands Elementary school. We will weigh it and drop it off at Pick n Save.
3. Or weigh your plastic, drop it off at one of the approved sites (Festival Foods, Pick N Save or Meijer) and report the weight to Sue and Dave, drslee@new.rr.com
Reminder – Please do not use dark garbage bags and make sure there is no food waste, garbage or non-stretchable plastic in your bags!
