SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 1a
[01] Since indeed many have undertaken to compose a narration concerning the matters having been assuredly accomplished among us, even as the eyewitnesses and ministers of the Logos from the beginning have transmitted unto us:
[02] I considered also, having followed all things in perfect order from above, to write unto you, most excellent Theophilo, that you may know the certainty of the words wherein you have been instructed.
[03] In the days of Herod king of Yhudah there came to be a certain Kohen surnamed Zekaryah, from the course of Abiyah, and his wife from the daughters of Ahron, and her name Elisheba.
[04] And they were two-as-one Tzaddikim before του Θ̅Υ, walking in all the commandments and righteous ways of του Θ̅Υ, blameless.
[05] And there was unto them no offspring, forasmuch as Elisheba was barren, and they were two-as-one well advanced in their days.
[06] And it came to pass in his ministering in the order of his priestly rotation before του Θ̅Υ, according to the custom of the priestly service: his lot fell to burn incense, entering into the naos of του Θ̅Υ.
[07] And the whole multitude of the people were outside praying at the hour of incense, and an Angel of Κ̅Υ appeared to him, standing from the right side of the altar of incense.
[08] And having seen, Zekaryah was troubled, and fear fell upon him:
[09] And the Angel said to him, Fear not, Zekaryah, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elisheba shall produce a son: and you shall call his name Yoĥanne.
[10] And you shall have joy and gladness, and many shall rejoice over his nativity: for he shall be mighty before του Κ̅Υ, and he shall drink neither wine nor strong drink.
[11] And he shall be full of the Holy Spirit even from the κοιλια of his mother, and many of the sons of Yisrael shall he turn unto Κ̅Ν their τον Θ̅Ν:
[12] And he shall go before His Presence in the Spirit and Power of Eliyah, to convert the hearts of fathers to children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous: to make unto Κ̅Ω a people having been prepared.
[13] And Zekaryah said to the Angel, By what shall I know this? for I am elderly, and my wife is well advanced in her days.
[14] And answering, the Angel said to him, I am Gabriel who stands in the Presence of του Θ̅Υ, and I am sent to speak with you and announce these good tidings unto you:
[15] And behold, you shall be mute, and shall not be able to speak until the day in which these things shall come to pass, instead of being unbelieving toward these my words, which shall be fulfilled in their appointed time.
[16] And the people were awaiting Zekaryah and wondering over his delay in the naos: and having come forth, he was not able to speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the naos, and he gestured unto them, and remained speechless.
[17] And it came to pass, when the days of his ministration were fulfilled, then he departed to his house: and with these days Elisheba his wife conceived.
[18] And she concealed herself five months, saying, For in this manner has Κ̅C done unto me in the days wherein He looked favorably to take away my reproach among men.
[19] But in the sixth month the Angel Gabriel was sent from του Θ̅Υ to a city of the Galil, unto a parthenos betrothed to a gaber whose name is Yoseph, from the house of David, and the name of the parthenos, Maryam.
[20] And entering in unto her the Angel said, Greetings, favored one, ὁ Κ̅C is with you! but she was troubled by the saying, and deliberated within herself what manner of salutation this might be.
[21] And the Angel said to her, Fear not, Maryah, for you have found grace with τω Θ̅Ω, and behold, you shall retain ενγαστρι and produce a son, and shall call his name Ι̅Η.
[22] This one shall be mighty, and shall be called Son of the Most High, and Κ̅C ὁ Θ̅C will give unto him the throne of David his father: and he shall reign over the house of Yakob into the ages, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
[23] And Maryah said to the Angel, How shall this be, since I know not a man? and answering, the Angel said to her,
[24] Spirit Holy shall supervene upon you, and the Power of the Highest shall overshadow you, therefore also the Holy One being generated shall be called Son of Θ̅Υ.
[25] And behold, Elisheba, your kinswoman, she also has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month with her that was called barren: for no word shall be impossible with του Θ̅Υ.
[26] And Maryah said, Behold, the maidservant of Κ̅Υ, let it be unto me according to your word. And the Angel departed from her.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 1b
[01] Moreover in those days Maryah rose up, going with haste into the hill country, to a city of Yhudah, and she came to the house of Zekaryah and saluted Elisheba.
[02] And it came to pass, as Elisheba heard the salutation of Maryah, that the child of Elisheba leaped in her κοιλια, and Elisheba was filled with Spirit Holy.
[03] And she sounded aloud in a great voice, and said, Blessed are you among women, and blessed be the fruit of your κοιλια!
[04] And whence is it unto me that the mother of my του Κ̅Υ comes to me? for behold, as the sound of your salutation came into my ears, the child in my κοιλια leaped with joy!
[05] And blessed is she who has believed: for there shall be a completion of those things that were spoken to her by Κ̅Υ.
[06] And Maryah said, My soul magnifies τον Κ̅Ν and my spirit exults in τω Θ̅Ω my Savior, for Κ̅C has looked upon the humiliation of His handmaiden, for behold, from now on, all the generations shall count me blessed:
[07] For ὁ Θ̅C ὁ Δυνατος has done great things unto me, and holy is His name, and His mercy is from generation to generation unto those reverencing Him.
[08] He has done mightily with His Arm, He has scattered the proud in the machinations of their hearts, He has cast down the mighty from thrones and elevated the humble: the hungry He has filled with goodness, and the wealthy He has sent away empty.
[09] He has taken hold of Yisrael, His manchild servant, remembering His mercy: just as He spoke unto our fathers, unto Abraham and to his seed into the age.
[10] And Maryah abode together with her three months and returned to her house.
[11] And the time was fulfilled for Elisheba to produce, and she brought forth a son: and her neighbors and kindred heard that Κ̅C had magnified His mercy within her, and they rejoiced with her.
[12] And it came to pass in the eighth day that they came to circumcise the manchild, and they called him by the surname of his father, Zekaryah.
[13] And his mother answered, saying, Not so, but his name shall be called Yoĥanne.
[14] And they said to her, There is no one from your kindred that has been called by this name: and they gestured toward his father, what he would that he should be called.
[15] And having requested a writing tablet, he wrote, saying, Yoĥanne is his name.
[16] And immediately his tongue was loosed, and all were astonished, and he opened his mouth and spoke, blessing τον Θ̅Ν.
[17] And great fear came upon all those dwelling roundabout him: and in the whole of the highlands of Yhudah, all these matters were spoken about.
[18] And all those having heard laid it up in their hearts, saying, What manner of manchild shall this be? for the hand of Κ̅Υ is with him!
[19] And his father Zekaryah was full of Spirit Holy, and said, Blessed be Κ̅C ὁ Θ̅C of Yisrael, for He has shown regard, and has made a ransoming for His people, and has raised up a horn of salvation unto us in the house of David, His manchild servant.
[20] As He spoke through the mouth of His holy Prophets from the age: deliverance out of the hand of our enemies and all those who hate us,
[21] To perform mercy with our fathers, to remember His holy covenant, the oath which He swore unto Abraham our father, to give unto us,
[22] That without fear, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we might serve Him in holiness and righteousness all our days.
[23] And moreover you, child, shall be called Prophet of the Highest, for you shall go before the Presence of Κ̅Υ to prepare His paths.
[24] To give the knowledge of salvation unto His people in the sending away of their sins, through the tender mercies of our Θ̅Υ, whereby the Anatole Rising Light from on High has looked upon us:
[25] To shine light unto those sitting in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet in the way of peace.
[26] And the manchild grew, and strengthened in Spirit, and was in the desert places until the day of his exhibition unto Yisrael.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 2a
[01] Sefer Toldot Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ, Son of David, Son of Abraham.
[02] And Elohim changed the name of Abram to Abraham, and made him a father of many nations, and Abraham produced Yitzhak, the holy seed that was promised.

[25] Fourteen generations from the deportation to Babel unto the Cloud of Seven.
[26] And the sons of Levi, the heads of the fathers, were written in the Sefer of the Chronicles unto the days of Yoĥanan ben Elyashib.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 2b
[01] And Shalathiel is yoked unto the house of Yoshiyah, as Yirmeyah the Prophet says of Ykonyah, O earth, earth, earth, hear the Word of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS:
[02] Thus says HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS, Write this man childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Yhudah.
[03] And the Word of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS came unto Zekaryah the Prophet, saying, Take from among the exiles, from Ĥeldai, Worldliness, from Tobiyah, the Goodness of YH, and from Ydayah, YH has made Known, which are come from Babel:
[04] And you yourself come that same day, and go into the house of Yoshiyah, Founded of YH, the son of Tzephanyah, the Secret of YH.
[05] And you shall bring silver and gold, and you shall make crowns, and you shall set them on the head of Yhoshua the son of Yhotzadak, the Kohen Gadol:
[06] And you shall speak to him, saying, Thus says YH haTzabaoth, saying, Behold the one, Tzemaĥ is his name, and from his place he shall sprout up, and he shall build the Temple of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS.
[07] This is the one who shall build the Temple of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS, and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne, and he shall be Kohen upon his throne: and between the two of them shall be the Counsel of Peace.
[08] And the crowns shall be for a Dream, (the World), and for the Goodness of YH, and for YH has made Known, and for Grace the son of the Secret of YH, for a memorial in the Temple of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS AND WHO SHALL BE.
[09] Abraham produced Yitzhak, and Yitzhak produced Yakob, and Yakob produced Levi, and the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
[10] And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Yitzhar, and Ĥebron and Uzziel.
[11] And the children of Amram: Ahron, and Mosheh, and Maryam the Prophetess.
[12] And the sons of Ahron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
[13] And Eleazar who is Lazarus produced Phineĥas, and Phineĥas produced Abishua, and Abishua produced Bukki, and Bukki produced Uzzi, and Uzzi produced Zeraĥyah,
[14] And Zeraĥyah produced Merayoth, and Merayoth produced Amaryah, and Amaryah produced Aĥitub, and Aĥitub produced Tzadok who is Nathan the Prophet,
[15] And Tzadok produced Aĥimaatz, and Aĥimaatz produced Azaryah, and Azaryah produced Yoĥanan, and Yoĥanan produced Azaryah, he who officiated as Kohen in the House which Shelomoh built in Yerushalem,
[16] And Azaryah produced Amaryah, and Amaryah produced Aĥitub, and Aĥitub produced Tzadok, and Tzadok produced Shallum, and Shallum produced Ĥilkiyah,
[17] And Ĥilkiyah produced Azaryah, and Azaryah produced Serayah, and Serayah produced Yhotzadak, and Yhotzadak went into captivity when HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS carried away Yhudah and Yerushalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
[18] And behold, Tzephanyah in the house of Yoshiyah: for Yhotzadak-Shalathiel is yoked to the house of Yoshiyah, and Yhotzadak produces Yhoshua-ZerBabel.
[19] As it is written in Zekaryah the Prophet, And the land shall mourn, every family apart, the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart:
[20] The family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart:
[21] The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart:
[22] The family of the Shemeii apart, and their wives apart:
[23] All the families of the remnant, family by family apart, and their wives apart.
[24] And the house of Nathan is the house of Tzadok: for Tzadok is Nathan the Prophet.
[25] David the king, Nathan-Tzadok, Aĥimaatz, Azaryah, Yoĥanan, Azaryah, Amaryah, Aĥitub, Tzadok, Shallum, Ĥilkiyah, Azaryah, Yhotzadak-Shalathiel, Yhoshua-ZerBabel,
[26] Ĥananyah, Shekanyah, Shemayah, Nearyah, Elioeinai, Hodayah, Elyashib, Peleyah, Akob, Yoĥanan: twenty four Elders and the Cloud of Seven.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 3a
[01] But of the του Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ the genesis is in this manner: there is a certain Tzaddik named Yoseph, son of Yakob Heli, of the sons of אילם, (that is, Elem, a date palm), dwelling in Eretz צוף, (that is, Tzuf, date honey).
[02] And the name of his village has been called עמ־מאוס, (Εμμαους), which is to say, A People Rejected, for they were fugitives, as it is written in the histories.
[03] And of old time the same village is הרמתים, HaRamathayim, Αρμαθαιμ, and Αριμαθαια, which is also called Ramah of Shemuel the Prophet: a village situated about sixty stadia north of Yerushalem, which is about six and a half Roman miles.
[04] And Maryam the Prophetess is gifted unto Yoseph in betrothal, but before they convene, she is found retaining the Logos του Θ̅Υ ενγαστρι from the Holy Spirit.
[05] And Yoseph her gaber, being a Tzaddik, not willing to make a public exhibition of her, contemplates putting her away privately.
[06] But as he ponders these things the night overtakes him, and behold, an Angel of Κ̅Υ from the Cloud of Seven appears to him by way of a dream revelation, saying,
[07] Yoseph, son of David, fear not to take alongside Maryah to become your wife, for that being generated in her is from the Spirit of the Holy One.
[08] Moreover she will produce a son: and you shall call his name Ι̅Η, for he shall deliver his people from their sins.
[09] But this whole thing is done so that what is spoken by Κ̅Υ through Yeshayah the Prophet may be fulfilled, saying, Behold, the parthenos shall retain ενγαστρι, and shall produce a son: and you shall call his name Emmanu-El, which is interpreted, El with us.
[10] And Yoseph arises from the hypnos, and does as the Angel of Κ̅Υ has commanded him, and takes alongside his wife of youth and wife of covenant: and he knows her not, and she produces a son, and he calls his name Ι̅Η.
[11] But of the του Ι̅Η being born in Beith Leĥem Ephrathah, in the days of Herod the king, behold, Magi from the Anatole Rising Light come to Yerushalem, saying,
[12] Where is the king of Yisrael? for we have seen his Star in the Anatole Rising Light, and have come to do obeisance unto him.
[13] And having heard, Herod was troubled, and he dispatched officers to the Magi.
[14] And he summoned unto himself also the chief Kohanim, and questioned them in the Praetorion, saying to them, How is it written of του Χ̅Ρ? where is he to be born?
[15] And the chief Kohanim said to him, In Beith Leĥem of Ephratha, for so it is written.
[16] And Herod released them, and he questioned the Magi, saying to them, What sign have you seen concerning the birth of a king?
[17] And the Magi said, We have seen a Star of great magnification shining among these stars, and obscuring their light, so that the stars appeared not: therefore we understood that a king is being born unto Yisrael, and we are come to do obeisance and honor him.
[18] And Herod gave them leave and sent them to Beith Leĥem, saying, Go search out the child, but as soon as you have made discovery, report to me, so that I also may come and do obeisance unto him.
[19] The Magi therefore having heard of a king went forth, and behold, the Star which they had seen in the Anatole Rising Light went leading on before them: and having known the Star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joyfulness.
[20] And they followed the Star until, having come, they entered into the abode: for the Star stationed over the house that stood before the cave, and having entered into the cave, the Magi beheld him with his mother Maryah.
[21] And having seen, they opened up their saddlebags and brought forth gift offerings, gifts of gold and of libanon and of smyrna myrrh.
[22] And being supernaturally warned by revelation from the Angel, not to return to Herod, they departed by another way to their own region.
[23] Then Herod became enraged, having seen that he was despised of the Magi, and he sent out a command to take up (ἄνειλεν) all the manchild servants, from two years and below, according to the time which he had diligently exacted from the Magi.
[24] But Maryah, being terrified, having heard that the manchild servants were being taken away, she cast the manchild into the sukkah and concealed him.
[25] And behold, an Angel of Κ̅Υ appeared to Yoseph, saying, Arise, take the manchild and his mother and fly into the desert of Mitzraim, and nourish there until the time appointed when I speak to you again: for Herod seeks to destroy the manchild.
[26] And Yoseph with the manchild and his mother fled by night, and departed into Mitzraim, and was there until the appointed time, that what is spoken by Κ̅Υ through the Prophet might come to pass in its time appointed, I called My son out of Mitzraim.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 3b
[01] Now they were a great number that had come from all twelve tribes, for those of the whole nation were called, and all heard of this call, and death was the penalty of such as should despise the epistles that Herod had sent out.
[02] And now the king was in a mad rage against them all, and when they were come, he ordered them all to be taken away to Yericĥo and shut up in the hippodrome.
[03] Then again was fulfilled what is spoken by way of Yirmeyah the Prophet, saying, A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and great mourning, Raĥel weeping for her sons: and she would not be comforted, for they are not.
[04] But shortly afterwards Herod expired, and when he was dead, all the manchild servants were released, and they returned to their borders and families.
[05] And when the appointed time was come, the Angel of Κ̅Υ appeared to Yoseph in a dream, saying, Arise, take the mother with manchild and return to the land of Yisrael: for those who sought the soul of the manchild are expired.
[06] And Yoseph arose, and took the manchild with his mother, and returned to the land of Yisrael: but having heard the report that Archelaus reigned over Yhudah in place of Herod his father, Yoseph was afraid to return to Ramah.
[07] Then, having been divinely instructed through a revelation, he took Maryam with the manchild and departed into the north portions called the Circle, that is, haGalil.
[08] And he came to dwell in a place called the Crown, that is, Nazara (נזר) and Nazaret, the Crown of the Circle: in this manner is fulfilled what is spoken by way of the Prophets, that he shall be called a Nazarene.
[09] As it is written, HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS said to Adoni, Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies your footstool, also in another place, And her son was caught up unto Elohim and to His throne.
[10] In those days Yoĥanne the Immerser comes preaching in the wilderness of Yhudah, saying, Repent, change your hearts, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand! Prepare the Way of HE WHO IS AND WHO WAS, make His paths straight!
[11] And Yoĥanne has raiment of camel hair, and an apron of skins about his waist like Enosh, and he is hairy, even as Eliyah, and his countenance hidden: for his visage cannot be discerned for the seven locks descending from the Naziri crown of his head.
[12] And he came preaching to the Yhudim, offering true freedom, saying, Elohim has sent me to show you the Way of the Torah by which you shall be set free from tyrants: and no mortal shall rule over you, but only the Most High who has sent me.
[13] And when the people heard this good news message they rejoiced exceedingly, and he did nothing else but to proclaim the kingdom of Elohim, preach repentance and inward purification, and immerse the people in the streams of the Yordan.
[14] And when their immersions were complete he sent them away, warning them that they should renounce all evil thoughts and deeds, and that soon they would be given a Righteous King who would set them free,
[15] And that all the wicked would be put into subjection under his feet: but that the same king himself would be subject to no one but the King Most High above him.
[16] And they brought him in before Archelaus: and when the Doctors of the Torah had assembled, they asked him who he was and where he had been until that time.
[17] And he answered, saying, I am [an] Enosh, and as such the Spirit of Elohim has called me, and my food is tzappiĥith made with oil and honey.
[18] But when they threatened to torture him if he did not desist from his words and deeds, he answered, saying to them, It is needful rather for you to desist from your shameful works, and to submit yourselves unto HE WHO WAS AND WHO IS!
[19] And one of the Scribes rose up in anger, Shimon by name, saying, We study the divine scrolls every day: but you, just now having come forth like a wild beast from the woods, you dare teach us and lead the multitudes astray with your accursed speeches?
[20] And Shimon launched himself forward to rend his cloak, but the Immerser stood unflinching, and in reproach he said to them all,
[21] I will not reveal to you the mystery, Who is among you, for you desire it not: and because of this, unspeakable misfortune has befallen you, and that of your own doing.
[22] And when he had thus spoken, he went away to the crossing of the Yordan: and because he was the son of a Kohen, none ventured to hinder him, and he continued to herald the kingdom of the heavens and immerse the people who went out to hear him.
[23] Moreover, at the end of his reign, Archelaus had a dream wherein he beheld seven ears of corn, perfectly full and ripe, but the ears of corn were then devoured by oxen.
[24] And when he awoke and rose up, because the dream appeared to be similar to that of Pharaoh in the Torah, he sent for the mystics who study and interpret dreams.
[25] And while none of them could agree on the interpretation, the same Yoĥanne who is called the Immerser came in as if out of nowhere, proclaiming the interpretation, saying that the dream signaled the end of his reign because the seven full ears are seven years.
[26] And it came to pass that seven days after Archelaus had the dream, a messenger arrived with a summons for him to appear before Kaesar in Rome: and his government was indeed brought to an end, when he had reigned seven years.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 4a
[01] And there was in those days a decree that had gone out from Kaesar Augustus for all the land to be enrolled, and this was when Kurenius had come into Syria, having been sent by Kaesar to govern Syria.
[02] Moreover he was also sent into Yhudah, which was added to the province of Syria, to enroll the people and dispose of the monies and treasures of Archelaus.
[03] This was the first enrollment when Kurenius was governing Syria, and all went to be enrolled, each one to his own paternal city.
[04] In those days Yoĥanne the Immerser was preaching in Beit Arabah, saying, Change your hearts: for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand!
[05] And behold, this is the one spoken of through Yeshayah the Prophet, saying, Kol Kore bamidbar, (that is, Voice of the Cryer in the desert), Prepare the way of Κ̅Υ, make straight the highway of our του Θ̅Υ in the Arabah!
[06] At that time Yerushalem and all Yhudah and all the circumjacent region of the Yordan were going out to him, and were confessing their sins in the Yordan, being immersed by him into his preaching.
[07] But seeing many of the Pharizim and Zaddukim coming to his immersion, he said to them, Offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? bring forth therefore fruit worthy of a change of heart!
[08] Think not to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham! for truly I say to you that ὁ Θ̅C is able raise up offspring unto Abraham from these stones!
[09] And even now the axe is laid up at the root of the trees: every tree therefore not bringing forth good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the fire!
[10] Truly I immerse you with water toward a change of heart, but the one coming behind me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not sufficient to bear:
[11] He shall immerse you with Spirit Holy and fire, whose winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purify his threshing floor, and he will gather his wheat into the granary: but the chaff he will consume with unquenchable fire!
[12] And when the appointed time was come ὁ Ι̅Η appeared upon the Yordan unto Yoĥanne, from the Crown of the Circle, Nezer haGalil, to immerse with him.
[13] And immersing, behold, there came holy fire upon the waters of the Yordan, and a great white light shone roundabout the whole place: and Yoĥanne stopped him going through, saying, I have need to be immersed by you: and you come unto me?
[14] But answering, ὁ Ι̅Η said to him, Suffer it just now: for in this manner it is fitting for us to fill up all righteousness. Then he suffered it.
[15] And being immersed, behold, ὁ Ι̅Η ascended straight off the water, and the heavens opened up unto him, and a form of Πνευμα Θ̅Υ descended as a dove, coming to him:
[16] And behold, there came a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, with whom I approve.
[17] Then Ι̅Η was driven into the desert by the Spirit to be tested of the Diabolos: and he was with the Beasts and the Satan.
[18] And having fasted forty yōm and forty laylah, he hungered, and the Tempter came and said to him, If you are a son of του Θ̅Υ, command that these stones become bread.
[19] But answering he said, It is written, Not by bread alone shall the man live, but by every word proceeding by way of the mouth of Θ̅Υ.
[20] Then the Diabolos took him into the holy city and set him on the wing of the temple:
[21] And he said to him, If you are a son of του Θ̅Υ, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give His Angels charge concerning you, also, On their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
[22] And Ι̅Η said to him, Again it is written, You shalt not test Κ̅Ν your τον Θ̅Ν.
[23] Again, the Diabolos took him up to an exceedingly high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory:
[24] And he said to him, All these things I will give you, if you fall prostrate unto me.
[25] Then Ι̅Η said to him, Withdraw, Satan! for it is written, You shall worship Κ̅Ν your τον Θ̅Ν, and Him alone shall you serve!
[26] Then the Diabolos left him, and behold, Angels came near and ministered unto him.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 4b
[01] Moreover in these same days, behold, Yoseph also ascended from haGalil, out of the city of Nazareth, into the city of David which is called Beith Leĥem.
[02] Having heard the decree from Kaesar for all the land to be enrolled, Yoseph himself being of the house and lineage of David, he ascended to be enrolled together with his betrothed, Maryah, being about to produce.
[03] And it came to pass while they were there that the days for her to bring forth were fully accomplished: and she produced her firstborn son, and swaddled him, and laid him in the sukkah, for there was no place for them in the guest-chamber.
[04] And there were shepherds encamped in that same place, guarding in the watches of the night over their flock, and behold, an Angel of Κ̅Υ stood over them, and a glorious light shone roundabout them, and they were put to great fear.
[05] And the Angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce good news of great joy unto you, which also shall be unto all the people:
[06] For this day in the city of David there was born unto you a Savior, which is Χ̅Ρ Κ̅C, and this shall be the sign unto you: you shall find a swaddled babe in a sukkah.
[07] And suddenly there was together with the Angel the multitude of the host of heaven praising τον Θ̅Ν, and saying, Glory in the highest unto Θ̅Ω, and upon the earth peace and goodwill among men!
[08] And it came to pass, as the Angels departed from them into the heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Now therefore let us traverse unto Beith Leĥem, and see this matter that has come to pass, which Κ̅C has made known unto us.
[09] And they came with haste, and found Maryah and Yoseph and the child reclining in the sukkah, and having seen, they made known concerning the saying that was spoken to them concerning the manchild.
[10] And all who heard were amazed at what was spoken to them by the shepherds: but Maryah was closely observing all these sayings, combining them together in her heart.
[11] And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising τον Θ̅Ν for all which they had heard and seen, just as it was spoken unto them.
[12] And when the eight days were accomplished to circumcise the manchild, his name was called Ι̅Η, the surname from the Angel before he was conceived in the κοιλια.
[13] And when their days of purifications were fulfilled, they brought him to Yerushalem to stand before Κ̅Ω, as it is written in the Torah of Κ̅Υ, and to offer sacrifice according to what is stated in the Torah of Κ̅Υ, A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.
[14] Turtledove the first: And there was a certain one in Yerushalem whose name was Shimeon, and this man a Tzaddik and pious one, awaiting the consolation of Yisrael: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
[15] And it was divinely revealed to him by the Spirit of the Holy One that he would not see death before having seen τον Χ̅Ρ Κ̅Υ.
[16] And he came in the Spirit into the temple also, with the parents, bringing in the manchild Ι̅Η to do according to the custom of the Torah concerning him.
[17] And he received him into his arms, and blessed τον Θ̅Ν, and said, Now may your servant depart in peace, according to your Word, O Master:
[18] For my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all the people, a light of revelation for the nations, and the glory of Your people Yisrael.
[19] And his father and mother were wondering at the things spoken concerning him, and Shimeon blessed them, and he said to Maryah his mother,
[20] Behold, this one is set for the downfall and rising again of many in Yisrael, and for a sign spoken against: and of you, moreover, a rhomphaia shall pass through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
[21] Turtledove the second: And there was also Ĥannah the Prophetess, a daughter of the school of Phanuel, and she was well advance in many days, having lived with a husband seven years from her maidenhood.
[22] And she had been a widow even unto eighty four years, who departed not from the naos, fasting and petitioning, ministering night and day.
[23] And she stood in her hour, confessing in turn unto Θ̅Ω, and she spoke concerning him toward all those patiently awaiting the redemption of Yerushalem.
[24] And when they had completed all things according to the Torah of Κ̅Υ, they returned to the Galil, to their own city Nazareth:
[25] As stated by way of the Prophet, that he shall be called a Nazarene, for the blessing of the hills of Olam is on the crown of the head of Yoseph the Nazir of his brethren.
[26] And the manchild increased and strengthened, being full of wisdom, and the Grace of Θ̅Υ was with him.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 5a
[01] And in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Kaesar, Pontius Peilate being governor of Yhudah, Herod being tetrarch of the Galil, his brother Philippo being tetrarch of Ituraia and the region of Trachonitis, Lysanias being tetrarch of Abilene,
[02] Ĥanan and Kaipha being chief Kohanim: the Rhema-Word of Θ̅Υ came to be unto Yoĥanne the son of Zekaryah in the desert.
[03] And he came into all the surrounding region of the Yordan heralding the immersion of repentance toward the sending away of sins:
[04] As it is written in the Sefer of the words of Yeshayah the Prophet, Voice of the Cryer in the desert: Prepare yourselves the way of Κ̅Υ, make for Him a straight pathway.
[05] Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hillock shall be humbled, and the crooked shall be straightened, and the uneven ways shall be leveled: and all flesh shall see the salvation of Κ̅Υ.
[06] He said therefore to the multitudes going out to be immersed before him, Generation of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
[07] Produce of yourselves therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and think not to say unto yourselves, We have a father, Abraham: for I say unto you that ὁ Θ̅C is able from these stones to raise up offspring unto Abraham!
[08] Moreover the axe is already laid to the root of the trees: every tree therefore not producing good fruit shall be chopped down and cast into the fire!
[09] And the multitude asked him, What shall we do that we may be saved? and he answered, saying to them, The one having two tunics, let him share with the one having none: and the one having food, let him do likewise.
[10] There came also tax collectors to be immersed, and they said to him, Teacher, what shall we do that we may be saved? and he said to them, Collect no more than what you are appointed to collect.
[11] And soldiers also asked him, saying, What shall we do that we may be saved? and he said to them, Do no violence, neither falsely accuse, and be content with your rations.
[12] And the people were in anticipation, and all reasoned within their hearts concerning Yoĥanne, whether or not he might be ὁ Χ̅Ρ.
[13] And knowing their thoughts, he said to them, I immerse you with water toward repentance: but the one coming is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am unworthy to loosen, he himself will immerse you with Spirit Holy and fire!
[14] He whose winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his threshing floor, and will surely gather the wheat into the granary: but the chaff he will utterly consume with unquenchable fire!
[15] Truly therefore, and with many other things also, he admonished the people, proclaiming the good news.
[16] But Herod the tetrarch, having been admonished by him concerning Herodias the wife of his brother, and concerning all the evil which Herod had done,
[17] He added also this onto all, that he locked up Yoĥanne in prison.
[18] But it had come to pass that with every one of the people to be immersed, Ι̅Η also was immersing, and was praying for the heaven to be opened,
[19] And for the Holy Spirit in bodily form as a dove to descend to him, and for a voice out of the heaven to come be: You are My son, this day I have begotten you.
[20] Moreover Ι̅Η himself was commencing about thirty years, as done by law, being the son of Yoseph, (Ιωσηφ), of the Upper Chamber, (Ηλι), a Gift (Μαθθατ) of Levi (Λευι).
[21] My King, (Μελχι), the Flourishing One (Ιανναι) of Yoseph, (Ιωσηφ), a Gift of YH, (Ματταθιου), a Burden (Αμως) of Comfort (Ναουμ), the Preserved of YH, (Єσλια), Illuminating (Ναγγαι) the Little (Μααθ), a Present of YH, (Ματταθιου).
[22] Hear the Report (Cεμειν) of Yoseph of Yhudah, (Ιωσηφ Ιουδα), of the Grace of YH, (Ιωαναν), of the Head (Ρησα) of ZerBabel, of Shalathiel, of Neri, of Melki, of Addi,
[23] of Kosam, of Elmodam, of Er, of Yhoshua, of Eliezer, of Yhorim, of Matthat, of Levi, of Shimeon, of Yhudah, of Yoseph, of Yonam, of Elyakim, of Melea, of Menna,

[26] of Ĥenok, of Yared, of Mahalalel, of Kainan, of Enosh, of Sheth, of Adam, of Θ̅Υ.
SEFER TOLDOT Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ 5b
[01] In Arche was the Logos, and the Logos was unto τον Θ̅Ν, and Θ̅C was the Logos: this one was in the beginning unto τον Θ̅Ν.
[02] All things through him came to be: and without him came to be not even one thing that has come to be.
[03] In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind: and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness perceives it not.
[04] There came to be a man having been sent with Θ̅Υ, his name Yoĥanne: this one came for a witness, to testify concerning the light, that all might believe through him.
[05] That one was not the light, contrariwise, but that he might testify concerning the light, which has been the true light that illuminates every man coming into the world.
[06] He has been in the world, and the world through him came to be, and the world knew him not: unto his own he came, and his own received him not.
[07] But as many as received him, unto them he gave authority to become offspring of Θ̅Υ, unto those believing into his name: those not by blood, nor by the will of flesh, neither by the will of man, but from Θ̅Υ having been generated.
[08] And the Logos came to be flesh and tabernacled among us, and we have beheld his glory, glory as an only kind with the Father, full of grace and truth.
[09] Yoĥanne testifies concerning him, and he has proclaimed, saying, This was the one coming behind me, who in front of me has become: for he was before me!
[10] For out of his fullness we all have received, and grace for grace: because the Torah was given by way of Mosheh, the grace and the truth came by way of Ι̅Η Χ̅Ρ.
[11] No one has seen Θ̅Ν at any time: the only kind Θ̅C who exists in the bosom of the Father, that one has been exegeted.
[12] And this is the testimony of Yoĥanne, when the Yhudim from Yerushalem sent Kohanim and Levim unto him, that they might ask him, saying, Who are you?
[13] And he confessed, and did not deny, and confessed, I am not ὁ Χ̅Ρ, and they asked him, Who therefore are you, Eliyah? and he said, I am not, [and they asked him] Are you the Prophet? and he answered, No.
[14] They said therefore to him, Who then are you? that we may give an answer to those that sent us, what do you say concerning yourself?
[15] Answering, he said, I am Kol Kore bamidbar, (Voice of a Cryer in the wilderness), Make straight the way of Κ̅Υ, as Yeshayah the Prophet has said.
[16] And they were sent from the Pharizim, and they questioned him, and said to him, Why therefore do you immerse if you are neither ὁ Χ̅Ρ, nor Eliyah, nor the Prophet?
[17] Yoĥanne answered them, saying, I immerse with water: in your midst stands one whom you know not coming behind me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.
[18] These things came to pass in Beith Arabah, the crossing of the Yordan, where Yoĥanne was immersing.
[19] On the morrow he beheld τον Ι̅Η coming unto him, and he said, Behold, the Amnos του Θ̅Υ who takes away the sin of the world: this is the one of whom I said, Behind me comes the Geber who in front of me has become, for he was before me!
[20] And I knew him not, but that he should be made manifest unto Yisrael: for this reason I came immersing with water.
[21] And Yoĥanne testified, saying, For I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven: and He abode-remained upon him.
[22] And I knew him not, but He who sent me to immerse with water, that One said to me, Upon whomever you see the Spirit descending, and abiding-remaining upon him, this is the Immerser in Spirit Holy.
[23] I also have envisioned, and have testified, that this is the Son of του Θ̅Υ.
[24] Again, on the morrow, Yoĥanne stood, and two of his talmidim: and having looked upon τω Ι̅Η traversing about, he said, Behold, the Amnos του Θ̅Υ! and the two talmidim heard him speaking, and they followed unto τω Ι̅Η.
[25] And ὁ Ι̅Η turned about, and seeing them following he said to them, What do you seek? and they said to him, Rabbi, (which is to say, Teacher), where do you abide?
[26] He said to them, Come and see: they came therefore and saw where he abides, and they abode with him in that yôm: the hour was after the manner of the tenth.
