SEFER HENOK 1a

[01] The words of blessing with which Ĥenok blessed the elect, who will be present in the day of tribulation to remove all the wicked, that the righteous may be delivered.

[02] And he took up his parable, saying, I, Ĥenok, an upright gaber, to whom a vision from Elah was disclosed:

[03] In a vision the Great Holy One of the shamayim was revealed to me by the Word of the Holy Elohim Malakim Watchers, from whom I heard everything, and because I heard from them, I perceived and understood everything.

[04] Not for this generation, but for a latter generation I will speak: concerning the elect I will speak, and I will take up my parable concerning them.

[05] The Great Holy One will come from His abode, and Elah Olamah will descend upon the eretz and tread on the mount of Illumination: (סיני) He will be revealed with His Mighty Host, and appear in the strength of His Might from the shamayim.

[06] And all the Watchers will be stricken with fear, and they will be punished in the hidden places, in every creature of the eretz: and every creature of the eretz will quake, and great fear and trembling will seize upon them unto the ends of the eretz.

[07] And the high places will be shaken, and will fall, and be dissolved, and the exalted mountains will be brought low, and they will melt as wax before the flame.

[08] The whole eretz will be rent asunder, and everything upon it will perish, and there will be a judgment executed upon all:

[09] But He will make peace with the righteous, and will guard the elect, and have mercy upon them: they will all belong to Elah, and He will prosper and bless them, and will rescue all of them, and His Light will appear to them, for He will make peace with them.

[10] And behold, He comes with His myriads of Holy Ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the impious of all their impious deeds which they have impiously done, and of all the fierceness which the impious sinners have spoken against Him.

[11] You observe everything that takes place in the shamayim, how nothing changes its course, and the luminaries which are in the shamayim, how they all rise and set in order, each in its appointed times, and they transgress not against their appointed order.

[12] You observe the eretz, and give heed to the things which take place upon it, from first to last, how steadfast they are, how none of the things upon the eretz change, and everything is visible to you.

[13] You observe summer and winter, how the whole eretz is filled with water, and the clouds pour down rain which gathers upon it.

[14] You observe and see how that in winter all the trees wither and shed all their foliage, except fourteen trees whose foliage remains, and their foliage will not renew until two or three years have passed.

[15] You observe the days of summer, how the sun is over the eretz directly above, and you seek shade and shelter from the glowing heat of the sun.

[16] And the eretz also burns with increasing heat by reason of the sun, so that you cannot tread [barefoot] upon the eretz, or on a rock, by reason of the heat.

[17] You observe how all the trees cover themselves with green leaves, and all the fruit trees bring forth glorious fruit: therefore give heed, and understand concerning all His works, and recognize how Elah who lives into the olamim of the olamim created it all.

[18] And all His works continue in like manner, and all the tasks which they accomplish for Him, year unto year into olam, they all perform His Word: their ordinances change not, but according to how He has ordained, so is it done.

[19] Moreover you observe how the sea and the rivers in like manner accomplish and change not their works from His commandments: but you yourselves have not been steadfast, and neither have you done His Word!

[20] But you have turned aside, and have spoken proud and harsh words with your impure mouths against His Majesty: O you hard hearted, you will find no peace!

[21] Therefore you will curse your days, and the years of your life will be corrupt, and the years of your destruction will be execrations into olam, and you will find no mercy!

[22] In those days your names will be turned into an everlasting execration among all the righteous, and they will cut off your transgressions into olam: and for all of you sinners and impious, you will be accursed.

[23] But for the elect there will be light and rejoicing and peace, for salvation will be granted upon them, and they will inherit the eretz: but for you, the impious, you will be an execration, and you will find no salvation!

[24] Wisdom will be given to the elect, and all of them will live, and will no more work error through forgetfulness or pride: for those possessing wisdom will be humble.

[25] They will not again practice error, and they will not be judged all the days of their life, and they will not die in the fury and anger of the Great Holy One.

[26] They will fulfill their number of days, and their life will abound in peace: the years of their joy will abound with gladness and everlasting peace all the days of their life.

SEFER HENOK 1b

[01] It came to pass when the adam began to multiply on the face of the adamah, and daughters were produced of them, that the sons of Elohim saw that they were fair:

[02] And they became enamored with them, and said one to another, Let us go take wives from among the daughters of the adam, of all we choose, and produce offspring.

[03] And Shemiĥaza their captain said to them, I fear that perhaps you may not entirely follow through with this deed, and that I alone will suffer for so great a transgression.

[04] And they all answered, saying, Let us all swear an oath, and bind one another with execrations, that we will not change our intention and will execute this undertaking.

[05] And they all swore together, and bound one another with mutual execrations, to fully execute their intended undertaking.

[06] And they were in all two hundred, and they descended in the days of Yared upon the summit of mount Ĥermon.

[07] And they called the name thereof Ĥermon: for upon that mountain they swore the oath and bound one another with mutual execrations.

[08] And these are the names of their chiefs: Shemiĥaza their captain, Artakoph, Ramatel, Kokabel, Raamel, Danel, Zikel, Barakel, Tamel, Ĥazael, Ĥermoni, Matarel, Ananel, Satuwel, Shemeshel, Saharel, Tummel, Thorel, Yômel, Yĥarel.

[09] These are the chiefs of tens, Elim over the two hundred Watchers altogether, and the whole two hundred took unto themselves wives from all whichever they chose.

[10] And they began to enter into them, and defiled themselves with them, teaching them sorcery, and spell-binding, and splicing of roots, and secrets concerning herbs:

[11] And the daughters of the adam conceived, and produced Gibborim, and when they mounted up in flight, (4Q530), their altitude was three thousand cubits, (which is to say, upon the face of the raqiya of the shamayim, as the flyers of the shamayim).

[12] And the Gibborim began to devour all the labors of the adam: and when the eretz was no longer able to sustain them, they turned against the adam to devour them.

[13] And they began to sin against birds, and against cattle, and against the roamers, and against the sea dragons, and to consume their flesh and drink their blood.

[14] Moreover Ĥazael taught the making of swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and metallurgy, and the art of fabricating metals, and antimony mirrors, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the painting of the eyelids, and all manner of precious stones, and the making of coloring dyes.

[15] And the world was altered, and there was great impiety and fornication: and the adam were led astray, and all their ways became corrupted.

[16] Shemiĥaza taught spell-binding and root cuttings: Ĥermoni taught the reversal of spell-binding: Barakel taught the signs of thunder: Kokabel taught the signs of the stars:

[17] Zikel taught the signs of lightrays: Artakoph taught the signs of the eretz: Shemeshel taught the signs of the sun: and Saharel taught the signs of the moon.

[18] And the eretz, being destroyed, laid accusation against the lawless: for as one part of the adam perished, they cried out, and the voice of their cry ascended to the shamayim.

[19] And Mikael, and Sariel, and Raphael, and Gabriel, looked upon the eretz and saw much blood being shed upon the eretz, and that the whole eretz was filled with violence and wickedness, and that the sin and destruction was heavy upon it.

[20] And they said to one another, As the sons of the eretz perish their cry ascends to the gates of the shamayim, and now unto you, Holy Watchers of the shamayim, the souls of the adam make suit, crying out, saying, Bring our cause before the Most High.

[21] And they presented before the Absolute Master of all the world, the Elah of the Elohim, the Adon of the adonim, the Melek of the melekim, saying, O Elah Olamah, the throne of Your glory stands unto all the generations of the world, and Your Name is holy and glorious and blessed into the olamim of the olamim:

[22] You have made all things, and the power over all things belongs to You, and all things are naked and open before You, and nothing can be hidden from You:

[23] And You know what Ĥazael has done, to whom You have given authority to bear rule over his associates, and You know that now he has taught every unrighteous wickedness upon the eretz, and has opened up terrible secrets and evil to the adam.

[24] And he and his associates have entered into the daughters of the adam upon the eretz, and have mingled with them, defiling themselves, teaching every manner of evil.

[25] And the daughters of the adam have produced Gibborim, and the whole eretz has been filled with blood and wickedness: and now, behold, the souls of the slain cry out making their suit unto the gates of the shamayim, and their lamentations cease not.

[26] And You know all things before they come to pass, and all these things You surely perceive: and yet You suffer these things patiently and tell us not what we are to do.

SEFER HENOK 2a

[01] And the Most High spoke, and the Great Holy One sent Yhalal-Yowr into the eretz, to the son of Lamek, saying, Announce to him, Conceal yourself in My Name:

[02] And reveal to him the end that is approaching, that all the eretz will be destroyed, and inform him that a deluge is about to come upon all the eretz, and that every standing thing upon the eretz will be blotted out.

[03] Instruct the Tzaddik, that he may escape, and from him shall a plant be established that will endure for all the generations of the world.

[04] And again He spoke, and said to Raphael, Bind Azazel hand and foot, and cast him into [outer] darkness: make an opening in the desert of Dudael and cast him therein, and cast down upon him rough and jagged rocks, and cover him with darkness.

[05] And let him abide there unto the olam: cover his countenance that he not see the light, and in the Day of the Great Judgment he will be cast into the fire.

[06] Heal the eretz which the Watchers have corrupted: proclaim healing upon the eretz, that the plague may be healed, that all the sons of the adam not perish through all the secret things which the Watchers have disclosed and taught their offspring.

[07] All the eretz has been utterly corrupted through the works and teachings taught by Azazel: to him therefore ascribe the whole transgression [all sin].

[08] And He said to Gabriel, Proceed against the bastards, and the reprobates, and the offspring of fornication, and destroy the offspring of fornication and the offspring of the Watchers from among the adam:

[09] Cause them to go forth one against another, that they may destroy each other in warfare and battle, for length of days they will not attain: and no request that their fathers make unto you will be granted on their behalf.

[10] And He said to Mikael, Go and detain Shemiĥaza and his associates who have mingled themselves with the daughters of the adam in all their uncleanness.

[11] And when their offspring have slain one another, and they have seen the destruction of their beloved ones, bind them in the valleys of the eretz for seventy generations:

[12] Until the day of their judgment and consummation and the judgment of the olamim of the olamim is consummated.

[13] In those days they will be led off to the abyss of fire, and into torments, and the prison pit in which they will be confined into the olamim of the olamim:

[14] And whoever will be condemned to be destroyed together with them will from the time of the decision thereof be bound together with them unto the end of all generations.

[15] Destroy all the spirits of the reprobates and the spirits of the offspring of the Watchers: for they have wrongfully and maliciously desecrated the adam.

[16] Destroy all evil from the face of the eretz and let every evil work come to its end.

[17] Let the Plant of Righteousness and Truth sprout up, let it bring forth the blessing, that the works of righteousness and truth be planted into the olamim of the olamim:

[18] And thus will all the upright escape, and will live to produce thousands of offspring, and all the days of their youth and their old age they will complete in peace.

[19] At that time the whole of the adamah will be tilled in righteousness, and the whole of the eretz will be planted with trees and filled with blessing:

[20] And every desirable tree will be planted therein, and they will plant vines therein, and the vine that will be planted therein will yield the fruit of the vine in abundance:

[21] And every seed which is sown in the adamah will bear a thousand measures, and every measure of olives will yield ten presses of oil.

[22] Cleanse the eretz from all oppression, and from all unrighteousness, and from all sin, and from all impiety: destroy every uncleanness that is practiced upon the eretz.

[23] And the sons of Adam will be righteous, and all nations will offer adoration, and glory, and honor, and reverence, and worship, and praises unto Me, the Great King:

[24] For all the eretz will have been cleansed from every defilement and impurity, and from all sin, and from all torment: and I will never again bring a deluge upon it from generation to generation into the olamim of the olamim.

[25] And in those days I will open the store chambers of blessing in the shamayim and pour them down upon the eretz, upon the work and labor of the sons of Adam:

[26] And truth and peace will be associated together throughout all the days of the world and throughout all the generations of Adam.

SEFER HENOK 2b

[01] Sefer of the words of truth and reprimand of the Watchers of Olam: according to that which the Great Holy One commanded in a dream which I received.

[02] Before these things Ĥenok was hidden, and none of the sons of the adam knew where he was hidden, or where he abode, or what had become of him: for his activities were among the Watchers and his days were among the Holy Ones.

[03] And I, Ĥenok, was blessing the Master of Majesty, the King of Olam, and behold, the Great Holy Watcher called me Ĥenok the Scribe, saying to me,

[04] Ĥenok, Scribe of Righteousness, go to the Watchers of Olam who have left their holy and eternal place, and have defiled themselves with women, and say to them:

[05] You have done as the sons of the eretz, and have taken unto yourselves wives, and have worked great destruction upon the eretz:

[06] You therefore will find no peace: and neither will you find remission of sin!

[07] And because they delight themselves in their offspring, say to them:

[08] You will behold the slaughter your beloved, and lament over the destruction of your offspring, and make supplication unto olam: but mercy and peace you will not find!

[09] And I, Ĥenok, went to Azazel, and said, You will have no peace: for a powerful sentence of binding has gone forth against you to put you in bonds.

[10] You will neither have leniency nor any request granted unto you, because of all the unrighteousness you have taught, and for all the works of impiousness and wickedness and sin which you have revealed unto the adam.

[11] You therefore will find no peace: and neither will you find remission of sin!

[12] And I spoke to them all as one, and they were fearful, and seized with trembling.

[13] And they besought me to draw up a petition for them, to read their petition before the Master of the shamayim, that they might find remission:

[14] For from that time onward they could no more speak nor lift up their eyes to the shamayim, for the shame of their sins, for which they were condemned.

[15] And I wrote their petition, and the prayer for their spirits and individual deeds, and in regard to their requests that they might find remission and reprieve.

[16] And I went off and sat down by the waters of Dan, in Eretz Dan, to the south of Ĥermon on the west: and while I was reading their petition, I fell asleep.

[17] And behold, a dream came down to me, and a vision fell upon me, and I saw a vision of the wrath of chastisement: and there came a voice, saying to me, Announce this vision to the sons of Olam and reprimand them.

[18] And when I awoke, I went to them, and they were all sitting together with their faces covered, weeping at Abel-Mayya, which is between Lebanon and Shenir.

[19] And I spoke before them the vision which I had seen in sleep: and I commenced to speak the words of truth and vision and reprimand to the Watchers of Olam.

[20] I saw in my dream vision what I will now say with a tongue of flesh, and with the breath of my mouth, which the Great Holy One has given to the sons of the adam to converse with, and to understand with the heart.

[21] And as He has created and given to the sons of the adam the power of understanding the Word of Wisdom, so likewise He has created me, and has given me the power to reprimand the Watchers, the sons of Olam.

[22] Behold, I wrote down your petition, and in my vision it appeared thus: that your petition will not be granted unto you throughout all the days of the olam.

[23] And this judgment has been passed upon you in finality, yea, your petition will never be granted unto you into the olamim of the olamim.

[24] And from this time you will not ascend into the shamayim into the olamim: the decree has gone forth to bind you in bonds of the eretz for all the days of the olam.

[25] But before that you will behold the destruction of your beloved offspring, and you will have no pleasure in them at all: for they will fall before you by the sword.

[26] Your petition on their behalf will not be granted, nor yet your own, though you weep and pray and speak all the words contained in the writing I have written.

SEFER HENOK 3a

[01] And as for the vision that was shown to me, behold, in the vision clouds invited me, and a vapor summoned me, and the path of the stars and rays of light hastened me.

[02] And the spirit-winds in the vision caused me to take flight, and took me up, and bore me into the shamayim.

[03] And I went into the shamayim until I drew near to a wall which was made of crystal, and compassed with tongues of fire, and I began to fear.

[04] And I passed through the tongues of fire, and came to a large enclosure that was crystal: and some of the walls were tessellated like a floor, and the surfaces were crystal.

[05] Its ceiling resembled the paths of the stars and rays of light, and therein were fiery Krubim whose shamayim were clear like water, and a flaming fire compassed the walls roundabout, and its portals blazed with fire.

[06] And I entered into the enclosure, and it seemed both hot as fire and cold as ice: there was no delight of life therein, and fear overcame me, and trembling took hold upon me.

[07] And quaking and trembling, I fell upon my face: and then I beheld another vision, behold, a second enclosure greater than the former, and the portal was open before me, and the whole [enclosure] was formed with flames of fire.

[08] And in every respect it so much excelled in splendor and magnificence and extent that I cannot describe all those things except that even its floor was of fire, and above were lightrays and the path of the stars, and its ceiling also was a flaming fire.

[09] And I looked, and I saw an exalted throne therein: its appearance was as crystal, and the wheels thereof were as the shining sun, and there was the appearance of the Krubim.

[10] And from beneath the throne came forth streams of flaming fire, so that I could not look thereon: and the Great Master of Glory sat thereon, and His raiment shone more brilliantly than the sun, and was whiter than any snow.

[11] None of the Malakim could enter, nor could they behold His face by reason of the magnificence and glory: and certainly no flesh could behold Him.

[12] Flaming fire was roundabout Him, and great fire stood before Him, and no one roundabout could draw near to Him: myriads of myriads stood before Him, though He needed no counselor, and the Holy Ones nearest to Him never departed from Him.

[13] And as I was laying face down, trembling, the Absolute Master called me with His mouth, and said to me, Come here, Ĥenok, and hear My Word.

[14] And one of the Holy Ones came to me, and wakened me, and raised me up to approach the door: and I went with my faced bowed.

[15] And He spoke to me, and I heard his voice, saying, Fear not, Ĥenok, Tzaddik Gaber and Scribe of Truth, approach, and hear My Word:

[16] Go, say to the Watchers of Olam who have sent you to intercede for them, You should intercede for the adam, and not the adam for you.

[17] Why have you left the holy and exalted heavenly Olam, and taken wives, and mingled yourselves with the daughters of the adam, and done as the sons of the eretz, and begotten Gibborim for offspring?

[18] And now the Gibborim, who are produced from both spirit and carnal, will be called evil spirits upon the eretz, and upon the eretz will be their dwelling:

[19] For evil spirits proceed because they are produced through the adam while their beginning is the Watchers of Olam: they will therefore be evil spirits upon the eretz.

[20] And the spirits of the Gibborim will afflict, oppress, and war, and work destruction upon the eretz, for they take no food, and yet hunger and thirst and cause offenses:

[21] And the evil spirits will rise up against the sons of the adam and their women because they have proceeded from them.

[22] And with the slaughter and destruction and death of the Gibborim, the flesh of the carcasses that produced the spirits will decompose without incurring judgment:

[23] In this manner will they be destroyed until the Day of the Great Judgment over all the great world shall be completed against the Watchers and the impious.

[24] Now therefore, as to the Watchers who sent you to intercede for them, who were formerly of Olam in the heavenlies, say to them, You were in the heavenlies, yet all the mysteries were not revealed unto you:

[25] You have indulged reprobate mysteries, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have mingled with the doctrines of the adam, and through these reprobate mysteries the adam work much evil upon the eretz.

[26] Therefore, Ĥenok, announce to the Watchers: You have no peace!

SEFER HENOK 3b

[01] I was walking with the Elohim, and behold, the Holy Elohim Watchers took me.

[02] And they transported me to a place where they were as a flame of fire, and whenever they wished, they appeared as the adam.

[03] And they took me to the place of darkness, to a mountain, the apex of whose summit reached unto the shamayim.

[04] And I saw the paths of the luminaries, and the treasuries of the stars and of the thunders: and in the uttermost depths there was a fiery bow, and arrows with their quiver, and a fiery sword, and all the lightrays.

[05] And they took me to living waters, and to the western fire that receives every setting sun: and a river of fire there flows like water and empties into the great sea on the west.

[06] And I saw the greater rivers, and they took me to the great river and the great darkness, and I was taken to a place where no flesh walks.

[07] And I saw the mountains of the gloom of winter, and the place from where all the waters of the deep flow: I saw the mouth of all the rivers of the eretz, and the mouth of the deep, and the treasuries of all the winds.

[08] And I saw how the whole creation and the foundations of the eretz are furnished by these treasuries: I saw the stone of strength (אבנ עזה) of the eretz.

[09] And I saw the four winds of the shamayim which bear the firmament of the shamayim, and I saw how the four winds stretch out the vault of the shamayim: I saw how they have their stations between the shamayim and the eretz.

[10] And I saw the pillars of the shamayim, and how the four winds turn the shamayim and the eretz to bring the circuit of the sun and all the stars to their settings.

[11] And I saw the winds upon the eretz driving the clouds, and I saw the paths of the Malakim, and at the end of the eretz I saw the firmament of the shamayim yet above.

[12] And we proceeded from there, and I saw a place that burns day and night, where there are seven mountains with precious stones: three eastward, and three southward.

[13] And the three mountains eastward: one with a glistening stone, one with pearl, and one with antimony, [silvery white], and the three mountains southward had a red stone.

[14] And the mountain in the midst of them reached unto the shamayim, like the throne of Elah, and it was of bright white alabaster, [crystalline white limestone] and the summit of the throne was of sapphire, and I beheld there a flaming fire.

[15] And beneath these mountains there was a region, the great extremities of the eretz, where the shamayim are consummated:

[16] And there in the depth I saw a cavern with columns of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns of fire descending, which were not by measure in height and depth.

[17] And beyond that I saw an abyss having no firmament of the shamayim above, and no firmly stationed eretz beneath it: there was no water therein, and no flyers of the shamayim, and it was a desolate and terrible place.

[18] And I beheld therein seven stars, like great mountains burning with fire, and they were petitioning me, so I inquired concerning them.

[19] And a Watcher and the Holy One said, This place is the prison for the stars and host of the shamayim until the consummation of the shamayim and the eretz.

[20] And the turning stars of fire are those which have transgressed the command of the Great Holy One, the Most High, in the beginning of their rising: for they came not forth at their appointed times.

[21] And the Absolute Master was angry with them, and bound them until the time when their trespass should be consummated, ten thousand years (10,290).

[22] And Uriel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Here will stand the stars who have intermixed themselves with women:

[23] For their spirits, assuming many different forms, are defiling the sons of the adam, and leading them astray into sacrificing unto demons as though they are Elohim.

[24] Here they will stand until the Day of the Great Judgment, in which they will be judged, when they will be brought to an end.

[25] And the daughters of the adam that went astray, with whom the stars intermixed their teachings, they will become siren songs of evil doctrines.

[26] And I, Ĥenok, alone saw this vision, and the consummations of all things: and no mortal of the adam will see it as I have seen it.

SEFER HENOK 4a

[01] And these are the Holy Elohim Watchers:

[02] Uriel, one of the Holy Malakim, over the Kosmos and Tartarus.

[03] Raphael, one of the Holy Malakim, over the spirits of the adam.

[04] Reuel, one of the Holy Malakim, judging the world of the luminaries.

[05] Mikael, one of the Holy Malakim, over the heart of the adam, Sar Tzaba.

[06] Sarukiel, one of the Holy Malakim, over the spirits who sin against the Spirit.

[07] Gabriel, one of the Holy Malakim, over the Paradise, the Dragons, and the Krubim.

[08] Remiel, one of the Holy Malakim, whom Elah set over those who rise.

[09] And we continued at the place of desolation, and I beheld that terrible thing: neither the shamayim above nor a firmly stationed eretz below, and it was desolate and terrible.

[10] And I beheld the seven stars of the shamayim bound together therein, like great mountains burning with fire, and I said again, For what transgression are these bound?

[11] And Uriel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Ĥenok, why do you ask? and why are you so eager to learn the truth of this?

[12] These are of the number of the Star Malakim of the shamayim that transgressed the command of the Great Holy One, the Most High, and are bound here unto a myriad of turnings, the time resulting from their trespasses when they will be consummated.

[13] And from there we proceeded to a deeper place more terrible, and I saw a more terrible thing: a great fire burning and blazing, and it was the deepest abyss cleaved.

[14] And it was full of great descending columns of fire: I could tell neither the extent nor magnitude of it, and I said, How fearsome is this place and terrible to behold!

[15] And Uriel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Ĥenok, why are you so fearful and afraid? and I said, Because of the ferocity of this place and the spectacle of terror! and he said to me, This is the lower pit of the Star Malakim who transgressed: here they will be punished into the olamim of the olamim.

[16] And from there I was taken up to another vantage, and saw the great high mountain of dense stones on the west, and there were four deep chambers therein, three of them smooth: three were dark, and one was bright with a fountain of pure water in its midst.

[17] And I said, What are these smooth polished chambers so deep and dark to behold? and Raphael, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me,

[18] These chambers are made so that the spirits of the souls of the dead and all the souls of the adam should assemble therein: they are made to hold the spirits until the day of their judgment, until the appointed time when the Great Judgment is rendered.

[19] And I saw the spirit of one who had died making suit, and his voice ascended to the shamayim, and I inquired of Raphael, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, saying, This spirit making suit: whose voice is it that ascends to the shamayim?

[20] And he said to me, This is the spirit having gone forth from Habel, whom Kain his brother slew, and his spirit makes suit against him until his seed is destroyed from the face of the eretz and is annihilated from among the offspring of the adam.

[21] And I inquired concerning that one and the other chambers, saying, Why is one chamber separated from another? and they answered me, saying, One is for the spirits of the souls of the righteous: the one in which there is a bright spring of water.

[22] The other three are made so that the spirits of the dead might be separated: one is for the lawless who die, and are interred in the eretz, and judgment has not been exacted upon them in their days upon the eretz.

[23] Those spirits are set apart there in great pain, until the Great Day of Judgment, when the punishment and torment and vengeance will be rendered upon the spirits which are accursed unto olam: they will be bound therein unto the olam.

[24] And one is made for the spirits making suit regarding the way in which they were destroyed: how they were slain upon the eretz in the days of the lawless.

[25] And one is for the spirits of the adam who are impious, and transgressors replete in transgressions, and they shall accompany the lawless: but those spirits will neither be destroyed in the Great Day of Judgment, nor be raised up out of that place.

[26] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, saying, Blessed be Adoni, the Adon of Righteousness, who reigns into the olamim of the olamim.

SEFER HENOK 4b

[01] And from there I was transported to another place at the westward extremities of the eretz, and I saw a burning fire continually flowing, ceasing not from its course day or night, and I inquired, saying, What is this burning fire that ceases not day or night?

[02] And Reuel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, This course of burning fire which ceases not day or night is the western fire judging all the luminaries of the shamayim.

[03] And from there I was transported to another place of the eretz, and they showed me a mountain range of fire which burned day and night, and beyond that I beheld seven magnificent mountains, each one different from another.

[04] And the stones of these mountains were magnificent and beautiful, magnificent as though one united glorious appearance by reason of the finely polished exteriors:

[05] Three eastward, one founded next to the other, and three southward, one after the other, and the ravines between were deep and rough, none of which joined with another.

[06] And the seventh mountain was in the midst of them, and it excelled them all in height, resembling the seat of a throne: and fragrant aromatic trees encircled the throne.

[07] And among these trees there was one such as I had never before smelled, neither was there another such tree among them, nor were any of the other trees like this one.

[08] And it had a fragrance beyond all others, and its leaves and blooms fail not, and its wood is incorruptible into the olamim: its fruit is beautiful, resembling the palm date.

[09] And I inquired, saying, Why is this tree so much more beautiful, and fragrant, and its leaves so much more fair, and its blooms so much more delightful in appearance?

[10] And Mikael, Sar Tzaba, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, Ĥenok, why do you ask regarding the fragrance of this tree, and why do you wish to learn the truth thereof?

[11] And I answered, saying, I wish to know about all truth, but especially the truth about this tree! and he answered me, saying, This great high mountain which you behold, whose summit is like the throne of Elah:

[12] It is His throne, the holy place where the Great Holy One, the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, will sit when He comes to visit the eretz with His goodness.

[13] And as for this fragrant tree, it is incorruptible, its leaves and blooms fail not, and its wood is incorruptible into the olamim of the olamim:

[14] And no mortal of the adam is permitted to touch it until the Great Judgment, when vengeance has been executed upon all, and when everything has been brought to its consummation for the olamim of the olamim.

[15] And this tree is given to the Tzaddikim, and its fruit is food for the Elect, and it is planted in the holy place, in the temple of the Absolute Master, the Eternal King.

[16] In that time the righteous will rejoice with all joy, and will be exceedingly glad, for it will enter into the holy place and its fragrance will be in their bones.

[17] And they will live the life of olam upon the eretz, such as your fathers lived, [as the days of the shamayim upon the eretz] and in their days neither sorrow nor plague nor torment nor calamity will touch them.

[18] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, who has created and prepared such things for the righteous, and has promised to give them these things.

[19] And I was transported from there to the midst of the eretz, and I saw a blessed place wherein were trees with branches abiding and blooming: and I saw a holy mountain, and beneath the mountain eastward a stream flowed out and traversed southward.

[20] And I saw eastward another high mountain, and between them a deep and narrow ravine, and a stream also flowed therein beneath the mountain: and westward there was yet another mountain, lower than the former and of lesser elevation.

[21] And there was another deep and dry ravine between these, and there was yet another deep and dry ravine at the extremities of these three mountains: all the ravines were deep and narrow, and formed of hard rock, and no trees were planted therein.

[22] And I marveled at the hard rock, and I marveled at the ravine, yea, I marveled very much, and I said, For what reason is this blessed land, which is entirely filled with trees, and yet this accursed valley between?

[23] And Sarukiel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, This accursed valley is for those accursed into the olam: here all the accursed will be gathered together, those who utter blasphemies with their lips against the Absolute Master of Glory, and who speak harsh things against His Glory.

[24] Here they will be gathered together, and here they will be cut off and cast off: and in the last days they will be a spectacle of righteous judgment in the presence of the holy ones into olam [where their worm dies not and their fire is not quenched].

[25] Here the righteous will bless the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, for in the days of judgment against the sinners, the righteous will bless Him for His mercy in accordance with which He has assigned their lot.

[26] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, who has set forth His Glory in these things, and I lauded and praised His Majesty.

SEFER HENOK 5a

[01] And from there I was transported eastward, into the midst of the mountain range of the desert, and there I beheld a solitary oasis full of trees and plants:

[02] And beheld waters flowing from above, rushing like a copious watercourse, flowing out toward the northwest, and it made clouds of mist and dew to ascend on every side.

[03] And from there I was transported to another place in the desert, approaching along the eastern side of that mountain range: and I saw odoriferous trees breathing out the aromatic perfumes of incense and myrrh, and the trees were similar to the almond tree.

[04] And beyond these mountains we proceeded very far eastward, and I beheld another vast place, with valleys of great waters, wherein were sweet calamus-reeds that smelled similar to the mastic tree.

[05] And upon the banks of these valleys of great waters I beheld the aromatic trees whose bark is used to make kaneh-manna [the ink used for sacred writings].

[06] And beyond these valleys we proceeded further eastward, and I beheld other mountains wherein were trees from which come the resin called styrax and galbanum.

[07] And beyond these mountains I was shown another mountain eastward toward the extremities of the eretz, and all the trees thereon were aloes: and all the trees bled stacte, like the almond tree, and when cuts are made in the bark a pleasant aroma exudes:

[08] And when the bark of this tree is ground down to powder, and incensed, the scent burns sweeter than any aromatic perfume fragrance.

[09] And beyond these mountains and odoriferous trees, looking northward over the mountains, I was shown other mountains that were plentiful with choice nard, and aromatic trees, and cardamom, and pepper.

[10] And from there I was transported over the summits of all these mountains, far eastward over the eretz, passing over Yôm Suph and far from it, and passing over the darkness and far from it.

[11] And we came near to the Paradise Garden of Righteousness, and I beheld from afar trees very numerous and large, different from one another, and of pleasant fragrances.

[12] And I beheld therein a tree that was different from all the rest, very strong and beautiful and glorious and magnificent: the tree of knowledge, the fruit of which was taken and eaten to attain knowledge.

[13] Its height is like the terebinth, and its leaves shaped as arrowheads, and the colors of its fruit as the cluster of the vine, very cheerful, and the fragrance of the tree carries afar.

[14] And I said, How beautiful is the tree! and how pleasing it is to behold! and Gabriel, one of Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered, saying to me:

[15] This is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, from which your father of old and mother of old who were before you did take and eat:

[16] And they indeed gained knowledge in that their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and the adam was driven from the Paradise Garden.

[17] And from there I was transported to the extremities of the eretz, and I beheld great beasts, each different from another, and flyers of the shamayim, each different from another in appearance, and in beauty, and in voice.

[18] And eastward I beheld the eastern end of the eretz, where the shamayim came to rest, and behold, there where gates of the shamayim open: and there I beheld how the stars of the shamayim come forth, and I counted the gates from which they proceed.

[19] And I noted the gates of each star according to their number, and according to their courses, and according to their positions, and according to their appointed times, and according to their months.

[20] And Uriel showed me these, one of the Watchers and the Holy One who was with me: and he showed me all these things, and I wrote them down.

[21] And from there I was transported to the northern end of the eretz, and I beheld there a glorious creation where the shamayim came to rest: three gates of the shamayim open.

[22] And from there I was transported to the western end of the eretz, and I beheld there three gates of the shamayim open, such as I saw in the east, the same number of gates.

[23] And from there I was transported to the southern end of the eretz, and I beheld there three gates of the shamayim open.

[24] And from there I was transported again to the eastern end of the eretz, and I saw there again three gates of the shamayim open, and also small windows above them.

[25] Through each of these gates pass the stars of the shamayim, and run their courses on the path which has been appointed for them: twelve gates, three gates on each of the four quadrants of this glorious heavenly creation.

[26] And whatever I saw, I continually blessed the Most High, the Absolute Master of Glory, who has created such great and glorious wonders to show His Mighty works to the Malakim and the sons of Adam: that they might praise His glorious works in all His creation, and see His Mighty Power, and bless Him into the olamim of the olamim.

SEFER HENOK 5b

[01] And at that time Uriel, one of the Watchers and the Holy One, said to me, Behold, I have revealed everything to you, Ĥenok, that you might perceive and understand all these things and the great luminary and the stars.

[02] For in the days of the impious the turnings will be perverted, and their seed will not produce according to the appointed times in their lands and their fields:

[03] And everything upon the eretz will be perverted, and nothing will appear according to its appointed time, and the rains will be withheld, for the shamayim will withhold it.

[04] And in those days the produce of the eretz will be backward, and will not produce in its times, and the fruits of the trees will be withheld in their appointed times.

[05] And in those days they will alter the precepts of the luminaries, and will observe the moon, which shines more brightly than accords with the luminary that rules the night.

[06] And in those days they will observe the sun, that which traverses the evenings upon its circuit to the west: though the greater luminary shines more brightly than the order of the magnitude of the light of the sun.

[07] And many of the stars will transgress their order, and will pervert their paths, and will not appear in their appointed times.

[08] And the whole order of the stars will be hidden from the impious: and the thoughts of those upon the eretz will err concerning them.

[09] And those who dwell upon the eretz will be backward in all their ways, yea, they will grievously err, taking the natural elements of sun and moon and stars to be Elohim.

[10] And evil will be multiplied because of the permanent dwellers upon the eretz: and their punishment will come upon them to destroy them all.

[11] And he said to me, Take heed, Ĥenok, that you observe everything written on the heavenly tablets, and note precisely every single thing written thereon.

[12] And I, Ĥenok, observe the heavenly tablets, and have read everything written thereon, and have come to understand all of it.

[13] And I have written seferim concerning all the deeds of the adam, all the sons of the flesh, even all who will be upon the eretz to the uttermost generations.

[14] And I blessed the Great Master, the King of Glory into the Olamim, that He has expounded all the works of all the generations of the world: and I extolled the Most High because of His great patience, and blessed Him on account of the sons of Adam.

[15] And after that, I said, Blessed is the one who dies in righteousness and goodness,

concerning whom there is no record of unrighteousness written, and against whom no Day of Judgment will be found.

[16] And thereupon the Holy Watchers and the Holy One set me at the door of my house, saying, Declare everything to your son, Mathushalaĥ, and show all your sons that no flesh is righteous in the Seven Eyes of the Most High, for He is their Creator.

[17] One year we leave you with your sons, until you have given your final commands, that you may teach all your sons and record everything for them, even as a testimony for all the future sons of your house.

[18] But in the second year certain ones will remove you from their midst: let your heart be strong and courageous!

[19] For the good will announce righteousness to the good, and the righteous will rejoice with the righteous, and brethren will console one another.

[20] And the sinners will die with the sinners, and the apostate will go down with the apostate: but those who practice righteousness will die on account of the deeds of the adam, and they will be taken away on account of the works of the impious.

[21] And with these things they finished speaking with me, and I came to my people, blessing Elah Olamah, the Absolute Master of the Olamim.

[22] And now, my son Mathushalaĥ, with all these things I have recounted in writing for you, I am revealing everything to you and giving you the seferim.

[23] Preserve these seferim by the hand of your father, my son Mathushalaĥ, and see that you deliver them to posterity for the generations of the world.

[24] Wisdom I have received, and I give to you, and to your children, and to your children who are to come, that they may give it to their children for the generations:

[25] Wisdom that surpasses their thoughts, and those who understand will not slumber, but will listen, and will hear with the ear, that they may learn and come to understand:

[26] Wisdom that satisfies those who consume it better than any physical food.

SEFER HENOK 6a

[01] And Ĥenok lifted up his voice to his son Mathushalaĥ, saying, And now, my son Mathushalaĥ, I will show you the visions I have seen and recount them before you: I saw two visions before I took a wife, and the first was quite unlike the second.

[02] The first occurred when I was learning to write, and the second was just before I took your mother: and regarding the first, I had offered an ascending prayer offering to the Master of Glory, and was laid down in the house of my grandfather Mahalalel.

[03] And I saw a vision wherein the shamayim were rent, and collapsed, and fell to the eretz: and the shamayim being cut down, I beheld the eretz swallowed up into the abyss.

[04] And mountains were thrust into mountains, and hills were thrust onto hills, and great trees were rent from their stems, and hurled down, and sank into the abyss.

[05] And thereupon speech fell into my mouth, and I lifted up my voice, crying aloud, saying, The whole of the eretz is destroyed!

[06] And my grandfather Mahalalel wakened me as I lay nearby, and he said to me, Why do you cry out thus, my son, and why do you make such lamentation?

[07] And I recounted the whole vision which I had seen to him, and he said to me, You have seen a terrible thing, my son, and your dream is of grave importance.

[08] Because of the secrets of all the sin upon the eretz, it must sink into the abyss, and the eretz will be destroyed with a great destruction: and now, my son, arise and make supplication to the Absolute Master of Olam, that a remnant may remain upon the eretz, that He might not destroy the whole eretz:

[09] For all of this will come upon the eretz from the Master of the shamayim, and there will be great destruction and desolation upon the eretz.

[10] And upon that I arose, and prayed and implored and besought, and I lifted up my hands and blessed the Great Holy One, and said with the breath of my mouth, by the tongue of flesh which Elah has made for the sons of the adam to speak with:

[11] Blessed are You, O Master, the Great King, the Master of the whole creation and of the shamayim, King of kings and Elah of the whole world, Your Rule is throughout all generations, and Your Power and Dominion abide into the olamim of the olamim:

[12] All the shamayim are Your throne into the olamim of the olamim, and all the eretz is Your footstool into the olamim of the olamim, for You have made all things.

[13] You are the Master of all things, and nothing is too hard for You, for wisdom never departs from the place of Your throne, nor turns away from Your Presence.

[14] You see and hear and know all things, and there is nothing hidden from You: and now the Malakim of Your shamayim are guilty of trespass, and Your wrath abides upon the flesh of the adam unto the Great Day of Judgment.

[15] O Elah Olamah, we implore and beseech You to hear our prayer and leave us a posterity upon the eretz: destroy not all flesh of the adam, and make not the eretz to be without inhabitant, that there should be desolation into the olamim of the olamim.

[16] O Adoni, we beseech You, though You destroy the flesh upon the eretz that has provoked Your fury, establish a Plant of Righteousness for an everlasting seed of righteousness, to bear fruit upon the eretz into the olamim for Your Glory.

[17] O Adoni, we beseech You, hide not Your face from the prayer of Your servants.

[18] And later after this I saw another dream, and now I will show the dream to you, my son, unto you and even to all my future sons I will speak: hear my words, and incline your ear to the dream vision of your father.

[19] Not long before I took your mother, Ednah, [feminine of Eden] I saw a dream vision upon my bed, and behold, an ox came forth from the adamah, and the ox was white.

[20] And out of it came forth a cow, and after this the cow produced two oxen: one of them was black as the darkness, and the other was red as blood.

[21] And the black ox gored the red ox and pursued him over the eretz: and after that I could no longer see the red ox.

[22] And the black ox grew mighty, and he took a cow and went forth to a desert place: and I beheld oxen proceeding from him, resembling him, and they followed him.

[23] And the first cow of the white ox went forth from his presence to seek the red one that was gored, but found him not: and she lamented with great lamentations over him, searching for him.

[24] And I watched until the white ox came to her, and comforted her, and from that time onward the cow cried no more: for after that she produced another white ox, and after that she produced many oxen and cows.

[25] And I watched in my sleep how the first white ox also grew, and he became a white bull: and from him were produced bulls, and they resembled him.

[26] And the white bulls produced white bulls which resembled them: one following the other in a seed line of succession.

SEFER HENOK 6b

[01] And I lifted up my eyes in sleep, and behold, as I looked to the shamayim above, a star fell from the shamayim: and it rose up and mingled among the oxen.

[02] And after that I saw black oxen, and behold, they all changed their dwellings, and their pastures, and their kind, and began to intermix with wandering stars:

[03] For as I watched in the vision, looking toward the shamayim, behold, I saw more stars descending, casting themselves down from the shamayim like the first star, and they became black bulls among the oxen, and mingled among them.

[04] And I watched in the vision, and behold, the black bulls mingled with the cows of the black oxen, and they conceived, and produced great Philim, Gmalim, and Aradim.

[05] And all the oxen became terrified of the wild beasts, for they began to bite with their teeth, and to gore with their horns, and to devour much flesh.

[06] And soon they began to devour the oxen, and behold, all the sons of the eretz began to tremble and quake and flee from before them in terror.

[07] And I watched in the vision how they began to bite, and to devour, and to gore with their horns: and the eretz began to cry out for the blood being shed upon it.

[08] And again I lifted up my eyes to the shamayim, and I watched in the vision, and behold, Holy Ones came forth from the shamayim, and they appeared as beings of white light, and four of them came forth from the shamayim first, and three followed them:

[09] And the final three which had come forth from the shamayim took me by the hand, and took me up, away from the generations of the eretz.

[10] And they raised me up to a heavenly place, and showed me a lofty citadel exalted high above the eretz, and every mountain was below this heavenly citadel.

[11] And one of the three said to me, Abide here until you see all that befalls the Philim, the Gmalim, the Aradim, the black oxen, and the wandering stars, even all of them.

[12] And I was watching one of the first four who had come forth from the shamayim, and behold, he seized the first star which had fallen from the shamayim, and bound him hand and foot, and cast him into a deep and dark and narrow abyss in the desert.

[13] And another of the four drew a sword and gave it to the Philim and Gmalim and Aradim, and they began to smite one another, and all the eretz quaked because of them.

[14] And I watched in the vision, and behold, one of the four stoned them from the shamayim, and gathered all the wandering stars, and bound them hand and foot, and cast them into the valleys of the eretz.

[15] And a certain one from the shamayim was sent into the eretz, to an ox, to instruct him concerning a mystery: and he was born an ox and became a white bull.

[16] And he was instructed to build himself a great vessel, and that he did, and entered therein, and three other oxen with him, and they were covered and enclosed therein.

[17] And again I lifted up my eyes, and behold, seven windows like cataracts pouring out great torrents of water upon the eretz.

[18] And I watched, and behold, the fountains of the chasms were opened up inside the eretz, and the waters rose up, and burst out onto the surface of the eretz.

[19] And I watched until the surface of the eretz was covered by the waters, and by darkness, and with the vapor and mist of gloom.

[20] And the waters stood upon the eretz, and they continued to rise, and the water and darkness and vapor and mist increased mightily upon the eretz.

[21] And all the oxen were submerged, and they perished in the waters: but the vessel walked upon the waters, while the oxen and Philim and Gmalim and Aradim perished.

[22] And I watched in the vision, and behold, the windows of the torrents of the waters from on High closed up, and the chasms of the deep within the eretz were stopped up.

[23] And other empty chasms opened up inside the eretz: and the water began to run down into the empty chasms until the surface of the eretz became visible again.

[24] And the vessel settled on the eretz, and the darkness retired, and light appeared, and behold, a sevenfold bow of seven colors of light shone in the clouds of the shamayim.

[25] And the ox which had become a white bull came forth from the vessel, and the three oxen with him: and one of the three oxen was white like the bull, and one of them was red as blood, and one of them was black as the darkness.

[26] And behold, the Tzemach Tzedekah continued through the white ox, and he also became a white bull, but from the black ox there came forth the same three genera of Gibborim again: first the Nephilim, then the Ananaki (Anakim), then the Rephaim.

SEFER HENOK 7a

[01] Sefer of Ĥenok the Scribe for all the sons of my house who will sojourn upon the eretz and the future generations who will observe uprightness and peace.

[02] Let not your heart be troubled on account of the appointed times:

[03] For the Great Holy One has appointed times for all things, and the one who is a Tzaddik will awaken from his sleep, and will walk in the path of righteousness.

[04] All his path and discourse will be in everlasting goodness and grace, and he will be gracious to the upright, and will impart to him everlasting righteousness.

[05] He will be endowed with goodness and righteousness, and will walk in the everlasting light: and sin will perish in darkness forever, and will no more be seen from that day into the olamim of the olamim.

[06] And now, my son Mathushalaĥ, gather all the sons of your mother, and call your brethren unto me, that I may show you all that will befall you into the olam:

[07] For the Word beckons me, and the Spirit is poured out upon me.

[08] And thereupon Mathushalaĥ went and summoned all his brethren, and all the brethren were assembled, and I, Ĥenok, said to all the sons of righteousness:

[09] Hear, O sons of Ĥenok, all the words of your father, and hearken intelligently to the words of my mouth, for I exhort you, and I say to you, beloved:

[10] Love uprightness, and walk therein, and draw not near to uprightness with a double heart, and associate not with those of a double heart.

[11] Walk in righteousness and truth, my sons, and this will guide you on the good path: and righteousness will be your companion in the way.

[12] For I know that violence must increase upon the eretz, and a great chastisement will be executed upon the eretz, and all unrighteousness must come to its end.

[13] Yea, violence will be cut off from the roots, and the entire system will be destroyed: but unrighteousness will again be consummated upon the eretz.

[14] Yea, all the deeds of unrighteousness and of violence and transgression will again prevail in a twofold manner worse than the first.

[15] And when sin and unrighteousness and blasphemy and violence in all kinds of deeds increase, and apostasy and transgression and uncleanness increase:

[16] A great chastisement will come from the shamayim upon all these things.

[17] For the Great Holy One, the Absolute Master of Glory, will come forth in the fury of His wrath and chastisement to execute judgment upon the eretz.

[18] In those days violence and deceit, together with unrighteousness, will be cut off from the roots, and they will be destroyed from under the shamayim.

[19] All the idols of the heathen will be abandoned, and their temples burned with fire: and they will be removed from all the eretz and cast into the conflagration of the flame, and they will perish in wrath and grievous torment into the olamim of the olamim.

[20] And when the roots of unrighteousness have been cut off, and the sinners have been destroyed by the sword, and the blasphemers cut off in every place, and those who plot violence and those who commit blasphemy have perished by the sword:

[21] Then will the Tzaddikim awaken from their sleep, and so also will Wisdom arise, and Wisdom will be given to the Tzaddikim.

[22] And now I tell you, my sons, and show you the path of righteousness and the path of violence: yea, I show you again, that you may know what will come to pass.

[23] Now therefore hearken to me, my sons, and walk in the path of righteousness, and walk not in the path of violence: for all who walk in the path of wickedness will perish.

[24] Concerning the sons of righteousness and the elect of the world, and concerning the Tzemach Tzedekah, of these things I will speak:

[25] Yea, I declare them unto you again, my sons, according to that which appeared to me in the heavenly vision:

[26] According to what I have come to know and understand through the Word, by way of the Watchers and the Holy One, and from the heavenly tablets which I have read and have come to understand everything.

SEFER HENOK 7b

[01] And Ĥenok took up his parable, and began to expound from the seferim, saying:

[02] I Ĥenok was born seventh: in my first week, and until that time, upright judgment yet endured.

[03] But after that, in my second week, fraud and injustice sprouted up: and because of it comes the first end.

[04] And in that week a certain one is delivered, but with its end, fraud and injustice will have blossomed: and a statute will be given because of the transgressors.

[05] And after that, in the third week, with its end, a certain one is revealed, the Tzemach Tzedek: and his genos is the Plant of Righteousness into the olamim of the olamim.

[06] And after that, in the fourth week, with its end, visions of the Holy One and the Tzaddik are seen, and a template for a court from generation to generation is produced.

[07] And after that, in the fifth week, with its end, the house of glory and dominion is constructed for the olam.

[08] And after that, in the sixth week, all who abide therein are darkened, and the hearts of them all will be forgetful of wisdom, and in it a certain one will ascend.

[09] And with its end the house of dominion is burned with fire: and the whole trunk of the elect root is hewn down.

[10] And after that, in the seventh week, an apostate generation will arise: and manifold are its deeds, and all its deeds are apostate.

[11] And with its end the elect are chosen from the eternal Plant of Righteousness to receive sevenfold instruction in wisdom and knowledge for a righteous testimony.

[12] And after that, in the eighth week, righteousness will arise, and a sword is given to all the righteous, that judgment may be executed upon the oppressors: and they will be delivered into the hands of the righteous.

[13] And with its end they will have acquired riches in righteousness, and will build a house to the Great Holy One, in glorious splendor, for all generations into the olamim.

[14] And after that, in the ninth week, righteousness and upright judgment are revealed to all the world, and all the works of the impious disappear from all the eretz, and the world is written down for destruction.

[15] And after that, in the tenth week, in the seventh part, the everlasting judgment and appointed time of the Great Judgment is executed in the midst of the holy ones [with vengeance] to avenge them:

[16] And the first shamayim pass away, and a new shamayim appear, and all the powers of the shamayim will arise and shine with sevenfold light into the olamim of the olamim.

[17] And after this there will be manifold weeks without number into the olamim of the olamim: everything will be in goodness and righteousness, and sin will no more be mentioned into the olamim of the olamim.

[18] But who is there among the adam that is able to understand the Word of Elah?

[19] And who is there among all the sons of the adam that is able to hear the words of the Great Holy One and not be troubled?

[20] And who is there among the sons of the adam that is able to think His thoughts?

[21] And who is there that is able to contemplate all the workmanship of the shamayim?

[22] And who is there that is able to comprehend the deeds of the shamayim? one may behold its animation but not its Spirit: he may converse respecting it, but not ascend to it.

[23] One may observe the workings of all these things, and meditate upon them, but he can make nothing like them.

[24] And who of all the adam is able to understand the breadth and length of the eretz? for by whom have the dimensions of all these things been seen or measured?

[25] Is there any one that is able to comprehend the breadth of the shamayim? or what the elevation of the shamayim may be? or on what the shamayim are founded?

[26] Where do the luminaries rest? How great is the number of the stars if you can tell?

Yhalal-Yowr – Pure-Bright River of Light – the Word (Breshiyt 1:1-2)

Yhalal is a form of halal, to praise, but halal also means bright, clean, clear, pure, shining, radiant. Yowr is a stream or river and in this case it would probably have contained the waw, (יאור). This is the same spelling of Yowr in Yeshayah 19:7-8, 23:3, and for the Nile in Amos 8:8. Without the waw the same word is found in the Torah for the Nile, Yowr Mitzraim, the River of Egypt. But more importantly Yowr is employed in Daniel 12:5-7, which appears to be expounding the meaning herein: for the certain one clothed in fine linen is stationed upon the waters of the Yowr, and that one is the Word, Yhalal-Yowr, the Pure Bright River of Light from the Father, the same fountain of pure clear water in the midst of the bright chamber of Habel, (Ĥenok 4a:16), which would later come to be known as Abraham's bosom, (as in Luke 16:22). We therefore have part of the name Yhalal-Yowr expounded in the Prophet Daniel.

The Word, Ruaĥ Elohim, (Breshiyt 1:1-2), Yhalal-Yowr, is sent into the land, the eretz, but the form of eretz was apparently never separated from Yhalalyowr, and therefore we find in the Ge'ez, Arsayalalyur. The first four letters, Arsa, appear to be a transliteration of the word eretz confused with Sariel, but it would have been in the form artzah, to-into the eretz. Without a letter for tzadi this is an issue encountered in Greek texts which are forced to use the sigma or zeta for tzadi. Arsa is artzah and thus a word which never got separated from Yhalalyowr in the Ge'ez. And since the ending of the name Yhalal-Yowr is rendered as Yur in the Ge'ez, this strongly implies that the original word was an artifact from a more ancient text, possibly even Hebrew, for this form of Yowr probably contained the waw, (יאור), and thus it was rendered as Yur, as also found in the name Uriel, which is constructed with the waw just as is the word for light in Breshiyt 1:3, but with the added theophoric suffix El in Uriel, (אוריאל).

When the Ten Weeks of Ĥenok are counted as normal weeks they constitute one year, counting only the feasts which bnei Yisrael are commanded to count and observe, and the dedication of the altar of adamah: seven weeks for Ĥag Shabuot, (Feast of Weeks), one week for Ĥag Sukkot, (Feast of Tabernacles), one week for the dedication of the altar, and one week for Ĥag Pesaĥ-Matzot, and in every yōm-day of these ten weeks are seven yômim-hours in each yōm-day on the sacred calendar day, four hundred and ninety yômim. The Ten Weeks of Henok may therefore be fulfilled in one acceptable year of Elah Olamah counting only the things prescribed in the Torah. Moreover, since there are ten weeks prescribed in a year, one may also see that in ten years there are a total of four thousand and nine hundred yômim counting in the manner of the seven hours in a sacred calendar day, (seven yômim-hours in a yōm-day).

Moreover, if we count the creation days of Breshiyt Tablet 1a as great days of a thousand years each, we find approximately twelve thousand years from Breshiyt 1:1 to the first century AD, and moreover we find Ĥenok to have been born at the exact end of the seventh great day, that is, 7000 years from Breshiyt 1:1 to the birth of Ĥenok. And from the birth of Ĥenok we find 1120 years to the flood, for a total of 2242 years, revealing that exactly 600 years have been removed from the modern Hebrew text, 100 years from each of the following six patriarchs: Adam, Sheth, Enosh, Kainan, Mahalalel, and Ĥenok.

1017 BC −07 = 1010 BC — 1st Temple Completed

According to Breshiyt 15:13 the Hebrews were indeed oppressed-afflicted for a full 400 years and this perfects the chronology. The majority of scholarship says that this period is only around 215 years but the statement in Breshiyt 15:13, reinforced in Acts 7:6, (treat them evil four hundred years), is in direct opposition to such a theory.
