SEFER HENOK TABLET 1A
[01] Sefer of the Words of Blessing, with which I, Ĥenok, would bless the elect who will be present in the day of tribulation to remove all the wicked, that the righteous may be delivered.
[02] And I took up my parable, (doctrinal preaching), saying, I, Ĥenok, an upright gaber, to whom a vision from Elah Olamah has been disclosed:
[03] In a vision the Great Holy One of the shamayim was revealed to me by the Word of the Holy Elohim Malakim Watchers, from whom I heard everything, and because I heard from them, I perceived and understood all these things.
[04] Not for this generation, but for a latter generation I will speak: concerning the elect I will speak, and I will take up my parable concerning them.
[05] The Great Holy One will come from His abode, and Elah Olamah will descend upon the eretz and tread upon the mount of Illumination: (סיני) He will be revealed with His Mighty Host, and will appear in the strength of His Might from the shamayim.
[06] And all the (fallen) Watchers will be stricken with fear, and they will be punished in the hidden places, in every creature of the eretz: and every creature of the eretz will quake, and great fear and trembling will seize upon them unto the extremities of the eretz.
[07] And the high places will be shaken, and will fall, and will be dissolved, and the exalted mountains will be brought low, and they will melt as wax before the flame.
[08] The whole eretz will be rent asunder, and everything upon it will perish, and there will be a judgment executed upon all:
[09] But He will make peace with the righteous, and will guard the elect, and have mercy upon them: they will all belong to HE WHO IS, and He will prosper and bless them, and will rescue all of them, and His Light will appear to them, for He will make peace with them.
[10] And behold, He comes with His myriads of Holy Ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the impious of all their impious deeds which they have impiously done, and of all the fierceness which the impious sinners have spoken against Him.
[11] You observe everything that takes place in the shamayim, how nothing changes its course, and the luminaries which are in the shamayim, how they all rise and set in order, each in its appointed times, and they transgress not against their appointed order.
[12] You observe the eretz, and give heed to the things which take place upon it, from first to last, how steadfast they are, how none of the things upon the eretz change, and everything is visible to you.
[13] You observe summer and winter, how the whole eretz is filled with water, and the clouds pour down rain which gathers upon it.
[14] You observe and see how that in winter all the trees wither and shed all their foliage, except fourteen trees whose foliage remains, and their foliage will not renew until two or three years have passed.
[15] You observe the days of summer, how the sun is over the eretz directly above, and you seek shade and shelter from the glowing heat of the sun.
[16] And the eretz also burns with increasing heat by reason of the sun, so that you cannot tread barefoot upon the eretz, or on a rock, by reason of the heat.
[17] You observe how all the trees cover themselves with green leaves, and all the fruit trees bring forth glorious fruit: therefore give heed, and understand concerning all His works, and recognize how Elah Olamah who lives into the olamim of the olamim created all of it.
[18] And all His works continue in like manner, and all the tasks which they accomplish for Him, year unto year into olam, they all perform His Word: their ordinances change not, but according to how He has ordained, so is it done.
[19] Moreover you observe how the sea and the rivers in like manner accomplish and change not their works from His commandments: but you yourselves have not been steadfast, and neither have you done His Word!
[20] And you have turned aside, and have spoken proud and harsh words with your impure mouths against His Majesty: O you hard hearted, you will find no peace!
[21] Therefore you will curse your days, and the years of your life will be corrupt, and the years of your destruction will be execrations into olam, and you will find no mercy!
[22] In those days your names will be turned into an everlasting execration among all the righteous, and they will cut off your transgressions into olam: and for all of you sinners and impious, you will be accursed.
[23] But for the elect there will be light and rejoicing and peace, for salvation will be granted upon them, and they will inherit the eretz: but for you, the impious, you will be an execration, and you will find no salvation!
[24] Wisdom will be given to the elect, and all of them will live, and will no more work error through forgetfulness or pride: for those possessing wisdom will be humble.
[25] They will not again practice error, and they will not be judged all the days of their life, and they will not die in the fury and anger of the Great Holy One.
[26] They will fulfill their number of days, and their life will abound in peace: the years of their joy will abound with gladness and everlasting peace all the days of their life.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 1B
[01] It came to pass, when the adam began to multiply upon the face of the adamah and produced daughters, that the Watchers, sons of the Elohim, beheld their daughters, that they were fair.
[02] And they became enamored with them, and they said one to another, Let us go take wives from among the daughters of the adam, of all whomever we choose, and let us produce for ourselves offspring.
[03] And Shemi-`Azah their Rosh-Head said to them, I fear that perhaps you may not entirely follow through with this deed, and that I alone will suffer for so great a transgression.
[04] And they all answered, saying, Let us all swear an oath and bind one another with execrations, that we will not change our intention, but will surely execute this undertaking.
[05] And they all swore together, and bound one another with mutual execrations, to fully execute their intended undertaking.
[06] And they were in all twenty chiefs of two hundred chiefs of tens that descended in the days of Yared upon the summit of mount Ĥermon:
[07] And they called it mount Ĥermon because upon that mountain they all swore the oath and bound one another with mutual execrations.
[08] And these are the names of the twenty chiefs, their Rosh being Shemi-`Azah: second to him, Aretqoph: third to him, `Orameel: fourth to him, Kokabel: fifth to him, Tamiel: sixth to him, Raamel: seventh to him, Danel: eighth to him, Zikiel: ninth to him, Baraqel: tenth to him, Ĥazael: eleventh to him, Ĥermoni: twelfth to him, Matarel: thirteenthth to him, Ananiel: fourteenth to him, Satuwel: fifteenth to him, Shemeshel: sixteenth to him, Saharel: seventeenth to him, Thummiel: eighteenth to him, Turel: ninteenth to him, Yamel: twentieth to him, Shaĥarel: twenty-first to him, `Azaz'el, (עזזאל).
[09] These are the Elim over two hundred chiefs of tens, Shemi-`Azah being Rosh over the whole, and the whole number took unto themselves wives from among the daughters of the adam, all whichever they chose.
[10] And they began to enter in with them, and defiled themselves with them, teaching sorcery, spell binding, splicing of roots, and secrets concerning herbs: and the daughters of the adam conceived, and produced Gibborim, and there were three genera: first the Great Gibborim, and they produced the Nephilim, and the Nephilim produced the `Elioud, (עליהוד, Lofty Grandeur).
[11] And when they mounted up in flight, (4Q530), their altitude was as it were three thousand cubits upon the face of the raqiya of the shamayim, (as the `Ayit of the shamayim), and they multiplied upon the eretz, each class growing according to the terrible granduer of its genos.
[12] And the Gibborim began to devour all the labors of the adam, and when the eretz was no longer able to sustain them, they turned against the adam to devour them.
[13] Then they began to sin against birds, and against cattle, and against the roamers, (reptiles), and against the sea dragons, and to consume their flesh and drink their blood.
[14] `Azaz'el taught the making of swords and knives of iron, and shields and breastplates of brass, and metallurgy, and the art of fabricating metals, and antimony-mirrors, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the painting of the eyelids, and all manner of precious stones, and the making of coloring dyes.
[15] And the world was altered by the teachings of `Azaz'el, and there came to be great impiety and fornication, and the adam were led astray, and all their ways became corrupted.
[16] Shemi-`Azah taught spell binding and root cuttings: Ĥermoni taught reversal of spells and skills (to open things bound or locked), and magic, and sorcery: Baraqel taught the signs of lightning: Kokabel taught the signs of the stars: Zikiel taught the signs of shooting stars: (lit. sparks) Aretqoph taught the signs of the eretz: Shemeshel taught the signs of the sun: Saharel taught the signs of the moon.
[17] And the eretz, being destroyed, laid accusation against the lawless: for as one part of the adam perished, they cried out, and the voice of their cry ascended to the shamayim.
[18] And Mikael, and Uriel, and Raphael, and Gabriel, looked upon the eretz and saw much blood being shed upon the eretz, and that the whole eretz was filled with violence and wickedness, and that the sin and destruction was heavy upon it.
[19] And they said one to his brother, As the sons of the eretz perish their cry ascends to the gates of the shamayim, and now unto you, Holy Watchers of the shamayim, the souls of the adam make suit, crying out, saying, Bring our cause before the Most High.
[20] And they presented themselves before the Absolute Master of all the world, the Elah of the Elohim, the Adon of the adonim, the Melek of the melekim, saying,
[21] O Elah Olamah, the throne of Your glory stands unto all the generations of the world, and Your Name is holy and glorious and blessed into the olamim of the olamim:
[22] You have made all things, and the power over all things belongs to You, and all things are naked and open before You, and nothing can be hidden from You:
[23] And You see all which `Azaz'el has done, who has taught all the unrighteousness upon the eretz, and has opened up terrible secrets and wickedness to the adam, which they have put into practice.
[24] Also Shemi-`Azah, whom You gave authority to bear rule over those being together with him, who have entered into the daughters of the adam upon the eretz, and have mingled with them, defiling themselves, teaching every manner of evil.
[25] And the daughters of the adam have produced Gibborim, and the whole eretz has been filled with blood and wickedness, and now, behold, the souls of the slain cry out, making their suit unto the gates of the shamayim, and their lamentations cease not.
[26] And You know all things before they come to pass, and all these things You surely perceive: and yet You suffer these things patiently and tell us not what we are to do.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 2A
[01] And the Most High spoke, and the Great Holy One sent Asar-Yhalal-Yowr [אסר - yoked: the seven as one] to the son of Lamek, saying, Announce to him: Conceal yourself in My Name!
[02] And reveal to him the end that is approaching, that all the eretz will be destroyed, and inform him that a deluge is about to come upon all the eretz, and that every standing thing upon the eretz will be blotted out.
[03] Instruct the Tzaddiq, that he may escape, and from him shall a plant be established that will endure for all the generations of the world.
[04] And again He spoke, and said to Raphael, Bind `Az'azel (עזאזל, name change) hand and foot, and cast him into darkness: make an opening in the desert which is in Dudael and cast him therein, and place over him sharp and jagged rocks, and conceal him in the darkness.
[05] And let him abide there unto the olam, and cover his countenance that he not see the light: and in the Day of the Great Judgment he shall be brought forth to be cast into the fiery conflagration.
[06] Heal the eretz which the Watchers have corrupted: proclaim healing upon the eretz, that the plague may be healed, that all the sons of the adam not perish through all the secret things which the Watchers have disclosed and taught their offspring.
[07] All the eretz has been utterly corrupted through the works and teachings of `Az'azel: to him therefore ascribe the whole transgression [all sin].
[08] And He said to Gabriel, Proceed against the bastards, and the reprobates, and the offspring of fornication, and destroy the offspring of fornication and the offspring of the Watchers from among the adam: cause them to go forth one against another, that they may destroy each other in warfare: for length of days they will not attain.
[09] And no request that their fathers shall make will be granted on their behalf, that they should expect to live an age, (an olam of one thousand years), or yet even five hundred years, (henceforth their days shall be one hundred and twenty years).
[10] And He said to Mikael, Go to Shemi-`Azah, and to his associates who have mingled themselves with the daughters of the adam in all their uncleanness, and make known to them that their sons shall perish, and they shall behold the destruction of their beloved ones.
[11] And when their offspring have slain one another in battle, and they have beheld the destruction of their beloved ones, bind them in the valleys of the eretz for seventy generations:
[12] Until the day of their judgment and the consummation and the Judgment of the olamim of the olamim is fully consummated.
[13] In those days they will be led off to the abyss of fire, and into torments, and the prison pit in which they will be confined into the olamim of the olamim:
[14] And whoever will be condemned to be destroyed together with them will from the time of the decision thereof be bound together with them unto the end of all generations.
[15] Destroy all the spirits of the reprobates and the spirits of the offspring of the Watchers: for they have wrongfully and maliciously desecrated the adam.
[16] Destroy all evil from the face of the eretz and let every evil work come to its end.
[17] Let the Plant of Righteousness and Truth sprout up, let it bring forth the blessing, that the works of righteousness and truth be planted into the olamim of the olamim:
[18] And thus will all the upright escape, and will live to produce thousands of offspring, and all the days of their youth and their old age they will complete in peace.
[19] At that time the whole of the adamah will be tilled in righteousness, and the whole of the eretz will be planted with trees and filled with blessing:
[20] And every desirable tree will be planted therein, and they will plant vines therein, and the vine that will be planted therein will yield the fruit of the vine in overflowing abundance:
[21] And every seed which is sown in the adamah will bear a thousand measures, and every measure of olives will yield ten presses of oil.
[22] Cleanse the eretz from all oppression, and from all unrighteousness, and from all sin, and from all impiety: destroy every uncleanness that is practiced upon the eretz.
[23] And all the sons of Adam will be righteous, and all nations will offer adoration, and glory, and honor, and reverence, and worship, and praises unto Me, the Great King:
[24] For all the eretz will have been cleansed from every defilement and impurity, and from all sin, and from all torment: and I will never again bring a deluge upon it from generation to generation, into the olamim of the olamim.
[25] And in those days I will open the store chambers of blessing in the shamayim and pour them down upon the eretz, upon the work and labor of the sons of Adam:
[26] And truth and peace will be associated together throughout all the days of the world and throughout all the generations of Adam.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 2B
[01] Sefer of the Words of Truth and Reprimand of the Watchers of Olam: according to that which the Great Holy One commanded me in a dream which I received.
[02] Before these things I, Ĥenok, was hidden, and none of the sons of the adam knew where I was hidden, or where I abode, or what had become of me: for my activities were among the Watchers and my days were among the Holy Ones.
[03] And I, Ĥenok, was blessing the Master of Majesty, the King of Olam, and behold, the Great Holy Watcher called me Ĥenok the Scribe, saying to me,
[04] Ĥenok, Scribe of Righteousness, go to the Watchers of Olam who have left their holy and eternal place, and have defiled themselves with women, and say to them:
[05] You have done as the sons of the eretz, and have taken unto yourselves wives, and have worked great destruction upon the eretz:
[06] You therefore will find no peace, and neither will you find remission of sin!
[07] And because they delight themselves in their offspring, say to them:
[08] You will behold the slaughter your beloved, and lament over the destruction of your offspring, and will make supplication unto olam: but mercy and peace you will not find!
[09] And I, Ĥenok, went to `Az'azel and said to him, You will have no peace: for a powerful sentence of binding has gone forth against you to put you in bonds.
[10] You will neither have leniency nor any request granted to you, because of all the unrighteousness you have taught, and for all the works of impiousness and wickedness and sin which you have revealed to the adam.
[11] You therefore will find no peace: and neither will you find remission of sin!
[12] And I spoke to them all as one, and they were fearful, and seized with trembling.
[13] And they besought me to draw up a petition for them, to read their petition before the Master of the shamayim, that they might find remission:
[14] For from that time onward they could no more speak nor lift up their eyes to the shamayim, for the shame of their sins, for which they were condemned.
[15] And I wrote their petition, and the prayer for their spirits and individual deeds, and in regard to their requests that they might find remission and reprieve.
[16] And I went off and sat down by the waters of Dan, (Judgment), in Eretz Dan, (Land of Judgment), to the south of Ĥermonin westward: and as I was reading their petition, I fell asleep.
[17] And behold, a dream descended unto me, and a vision fell upon me, and I lifted up my eyes to the gates of the Palace of the shamayim, and behold, a vision of the wrath of chastisement: and there came a voice, saying, Announce this vision to the sons of the shamayim and reprimand them.
[18] And when I awoke, I went to them, and they were all sitting together with their faces covered, weeping at Abel-Mayya, (Waters of Mourning), which is between Lebanon and Shenir.
[19] And I spoke before them the vision which I had seen in sleep: and I commenced to speak the words of truth and vision and reprimand to the Watchers of the shamayim.
[20] I saw in my dream vision what I will now say with a tongue of flesh, and with the breath of my mouth, which the Great Holy One has given to the sons of the adam to converse with, and to understand with the heart.
[21] And as He has created and given to the sons of the adam the power of understanding the Word of Wisdom, so likewise He has created me, and has given me a decree to reprimand the Watchers, the sons of the shamayim.
[22] Behold, I wrote down your petition, and in my vision it appeared thus: that your petition will not be granted unto you throughout all the days of the olam.
[23] And this judgment has been passed upon you in finality, yea, your petition will never be granted unto you into the olamim of the olamim.
[24] And from this time you will not ascend into the shamayim into the olamim: the decree has gone forth to bind you in bonds of the eretz for all the days of the olamim.
[25] But before that you will behold the destruction of your beloved offspring, and you will have no pleasure in them at all: for they will fall before you by the sword.
[26] Your petition on their behalf will not be granted, nor yet your own, though you weep and pray and speak all the words contained in this writing I have written.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 3A
[01] And as for the vision that was shown to me, behold, in the vision clouds invited me, and a vapor summoned me, and the path of the stars and rays of light hastened me.
[02] And the winds in the vision caused me to take flight, and took me up, and carried me into the shamayim.
[03] And I ascended into the shamayim until I drew near to a wall which was made of crystal, and compassed with tongues of fire, and I began to fear.
[04] And I passed through the tongues of fire, and came to a large enclosure that was crystal, white as snow: and some of the walls were tessellated like a floor, and the surfaces were white crystal.
[05] Its ceiling resembled the paths of the stars and rays of light, and therein were fiery Krubim whose shamayim were clear like water, and a flaming fire compassed the walls roundabout, and its portals blazed with fire.
[06] And I entered into the enclosure, and it seemed both hot as fire and cold as ice: there was no delight of life therein, and fear overcame me, and trembling took hold upon me.
[07] And quaking and trembling, I fell upon my face: and then I beheld another sight, behold, a second enclosure greater than the former, and the portal was open before me, and the whole of it was formed with tongues of fire.
[08] And in every respect it so much excelled in splendor and magnificence and extent that I cannot describe all those things except that even its floor was of fire, and above were light rays and the paths of the stars, and its ceiling also was a burning fire.
[09] And I looked, and I beheld an exalted throne therein: its appearance was as crystal glass, and the wheels thereof were as the shining sun, and at its sides there were Krubim.
[10] And from beneath the throne came forth streams of fire, so that I could not look thereon: and the Great Master of Glory sat thereon, and His raiment shone more brilliantly than the sun, and was whiter than any snow.
[11] None of the Malakim could enter, nor could they behold His face by reason of the magnificence and glory: and certainly no flesh could behold Him.
[12] Flaming fire was roundabout Him, and great fire stood before Him, and no one roundabout could draw near to Him: myriads of myriads stood before Him, though He needed no counselor, and the Holy Ones nearest to Him never departed from Him.
[13] And as I was laying face down, trembling, the Absolute Master called me with His voice, and said to me, Come here, Ĥenok, and hear My Word.
[14] And one of the Holy Ones came to me, and wakened me, and raised me up to approach the door: and I went with my faced bowed down.
[15] And He spoke to me, and I heard his voice, saying, Fear not, Ĥenok, Tzaddiq Gaber and Scribe of Truth, approach, and hear My Word:
[16] Go say to the Watchers of Olam who have sent you to intercede for them, You should intercede for the adam, and not the adam for you.
[17] Why have you left the holy and exalted shamayim of Olam, and taken wives, and mingled yourselves with the daughters of the adam, and done as the sons of the eretz, and begotten Gibborim for offspring?
[18] And now the Gibborim, who are produced from both spirit and carnal, will be called evil spirits upon the eretz, and upon the eretz will be their dwelling:
[19] For evil spirits proceed because they are produced through the adam while their beginning is by way of the Watchers of the shamayim: they will therefore be evil spirits upon the eretz.
[20] And the spirits of the Nephilim Gibborim, (as clouds, γιγαντων νεφελας, MS. Cairo), will afflict, oppress, make war, and cause the adam to fall, and work destruction upon the eretz, for they take no food, and yet hunger and thirst and cause offenses:
[21] Thus the evil spirits will rise up against the adam and their women because they proceeded from them.
[22] And with the slaughter and destruction and death of the Nephilim Gibborim, (γιγαντων ναφηλείμ, MS. Syncellus), the flesh of the carcasses that produced the spirits will decompose without incurring judgment:
[23] In this manner will they be destroyed until the Day of the Great Judgment over all the great world shall be completed against the Watchers and the impious.
[24] Now therefore, as to the Watchers who sent you to intercede for them, who were formerly of the shamayim of Olam, say to them, You were in the shamayim, yet all the mysteries were not revealed unto you:
[25] You have indulged reprobate mysteries, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have mingled with the doctrines of the adam, and through these reprobate mysteries the adam work much evil upon the eretz.
[26] Therefore, Ĥenok, announce to the Watchers: You will have no peace!
SEFER HENOK TABLET 3B
[01] And behold, the Holy Elohim-Malakim Watchers and the Holy One who was with me took me from there:
[02] And they brought me into a certain place where those being therein become as a flaming fire, and whenever they will, they appear as the adam.
[03] And from there they took me to a place of darkness, at the extremities of the eretz in the west, to a mountain whose summit-apex reached unto the shamayim.
[04] And I beheld the paths of the luminaries, and the treasuries of the stars and of the thunders: and in the uttermost depths there was a fiery bow, and arrows with their quiver, and a fiery sword, and all the light rays.
[05] And they took me to running waters, and to the western fire that receives every setting sun: and a river of fire there flows like water and empties into the great sea on the west, (the Atlantic).
[06] And I beheld great rivers, and they took me to the great sea and the great darkness, and I was taken to a place where no flesh walks.
[07] And I beheld the mountains of the winter gloom, and the place from where all the waters of the deep flow: I beheld the mouth of all the rivers of the eretz, and the mouth of the deep, and the treasuries of all the winds.
[08] And I saw how the whole creation and the foundations of the eretz are furnished by these treasuries: I beheld the mighty cornerstone (אבנ עזה) of the eretz.
[09] And I beheld the four spirit-winds of the shamayim which bear the firmament, and I saw how the four spirit-winds stretch out the vault of the shamayim: I beheld their stations between the shamayim and the eretz.
[10] And I beheld the pillars of the shamayim, and how the four spirit-winds turn the shamayim and the eretz to bring the circuit of the sun and all the stars to their settings.
[11] And I beheld the winds upon the eretz driving the clouds, and I beheld the paths of the Malakim, and at the end of the eretz westward I beheld the firmament of the shamayim yet above, and there we commenced.
[12] And I beheld there a place that burns day and night, where there are seven mountains of magnificent stones: three eastward, and three southward.
[13] And concerning the three mountains eastward: one of a glistering stone, one of pearl, and one of antimony, (silvery-gray), and the three mountains southward were of a red stone.
[14] And the mountain in the midst of them reached unto the shamayim, like the throne of Elah, (the Great White Throne of Judgment), and it was of white crystalline limestone, (alabaster), and the summit of the throne was of sapphire, and I beheld there a flaming fire.
[15] And beyond these mountains there was a region at the great extremity of the eretz on the west, on the opposite side of the great world, and there the shamayim are consummated.
[16] Then I was shown a deep abyss descending between pillars of divine fire, and I beheld therein columns of fire descending to the bottom which were beyond measuring, both in depth and in height.
[17] And beyond that abyss I beheld another abyss having no firmament of the shamayim above, and no firmly stationed eretz beneath: there was no water therein, and there were no flyers of the shamayim therein, and it was a desolate and terrible place.
[18] And I beheld seven stars therein, like great mountains burning with fire, (Rev 8:8), and they were petitioning me, so I inquired concerning them. (Aretqoph, (Rev 8:7) Yamel, (Mat 21:18-21, Rev 8:8-9) Shaĥarel, (Rev 8:10-11 (Heb. Apocalypse), Towla, Redworm, Isa 14:11-12), Shemeshel, Saharel, Kokabel, (Rev 8:12) Ĥermoni (Rev 9:1)).
[19] And a holy Watcher and the Holy One who was with me said, This place is the prison for the stars and the host of the shamayim until the consummation of the shamayim and the eretz.
[20] And the stars rolling over in the fire are those who transgressed the command of the Great Holy One, the Most High, in the beginning of their rising: for they came not forth at their appointed times.
[21] And the Absolute Master was angry with them, and bound them until the time when their trespass should be consummated, a myriad of years (twelve thousand).
[22] And Uriel, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Here will stand the stars who have intermixed themselves with women:
[23] For their spirits, assuming many different forms, are defiling the sons of the adam, and leading them astray into sacrificing unto demons as though they were Elohim.
[24] Here they will stand until the Day of the Great Judgment in which they will be judged, when they will be brought to an end:
[25] And the daughters of the adam that went astray, with whom the stars intermixed their teachings, they will become siren songs of evil doctrines.
[26] And I, Ĥenok, alone beheld this vision, and the consummations of all things: and no mortal of the adam will see it as I have seen it.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 4A
[01] Sefer of the Visions of the Holy Ones and the Tzedeq.
[02] These are the Holy Elohim-Malakim Watchers who Watch:
[03] Uriel, one-united of the Holy Malakim, over the Kosmos and Tartarus. (בור ארץ תחתית – Eze 31:14-18).
[04] Raphael, one-united of the Holy Malakim, over the spirits of the adam.
[05] Reuel, one-united of the Holy Malakim, following (like a shepherd) the world of the luminaries.
[06] Mikael, one-united of the Holy Malakim, over the heart of the adam, Sar Tzaba.
[07] Soreqael, one-united of the Holy Malakim, over the spirits who sin against the Spirit.
[08] Gabriel, one-united of the Holy Malakim, over the Paradise, the Dragons, and the Krubim.
[09] Remiel, one-united of the Holy Malakim, whom Elah set over those who rise.
[10] And we continued at that place of desolation, and I beheld that terrible thing: neither the shamayim above nor a firmly stationed eretz below, and it was a desolate and terrible place.
[11] And I beheld those seven stars of the shamayim bound together therein, like great mountains burning with fire, and I said again, For what transgression are these bound?
[12] And Uriel, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Ĥenok, why do you ask? and why are you so eager to learn the truth of this?
[13] These are of the number of the stars of the shamayim that transgressed the command of the Great Holy One, the Most High, and are bound here unto a myriad of years, the time resulting from their trespasses when they will be consummated.
[14] And from there we proceeded to a deeper place more terrible, and I beheld a more terrible thing: a great fire burning and blazing, and it was the deepest abyss cleaved, and it was full of great descending columns of fire: I could tell neither the extent nor magnitude of it, and I said, How fearsome is this place and terrible to behold!
[15] And Uriel, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me, Ĥenok, why are you so fearful and afraid? and I said, Because of the ferocity of this place and the spectacle of terror! and he said to me, This is the place of incarceration of the Malakim who transgressed: here they shall be imprisoned together into the olamim of the olamim.
[16] And from there I was taken to different place, and he (Uriel) showed me another great high mountain, and there were four deep chambers therein, and three of them where smooth: moreover three of them were dark, but one was full of brightness having a bright fountain of pure water flowing in its midst.
[17] And I said, What are these smooth chambers so deep and dark to behold? and Raphael, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, said to me,
[18] These chambers are made so that the spirits of the souls of the dead and all the souls of the adam should assemble therein: they are made to hold the spirits until the day of their judgment, until the appointed time when the Great Judgment is rendered.
[19] And I perceived that the spirit of one who had died was making suit, and his voice ascended into the shamayim, and I inquired of Remiel, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, saying, This spirit making suit: whose voice is it that ascends to the shamayim?
[20] And he said to me, This is the spirit having gone forth from Habel, whom Qain his brother slew, and his spirit makes suit against him until his seed is destroyed from off the face of the eretz and is annihilated from among the offspring of the adam.
[21] And I inquired concerning that one and also the other chambers, saying, Why is one chamber separated from another? and they answered me, saying, One is for the spirits of the souls of the righteous: the one in which there is a bright spring of water.
[22] The other three are made so that the spirits of the dead might be separated: one is for the lawless who die, and are interred in the eretz, and judgment has not been exacted upon them in their days upon the eretz.
[23] Those spirits are set apart there in great pain until the Great Day of Judgment, when the punishment and torment and vengeance will be rendered upon the spirits which are accursed unto olam: they shall be bound therein unto olam.
[24] And one is made for the spirits making suit regarding the way in which they were destroyed: how they were slain upon the eretz in the days of the lawless.
[25] And one is for the spirits of the adam who are impious, and transgressors replete in transgressions, and they shall accompany the lawless: but those spirits will neither be destroyed in the Great Day of Judgment, nor be raised up out of that place.
[26] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, saying, Blessed be Adoni, the Adon of Righteousness, who reigns into the olamim of the olamim.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 4B
[01] And from there I was taken to another place also at the westward extremity of the eretz, and I beheld that burning fire continually flowing, ceasing not from its course day or night, and I inquired, saying, What is this burning fire that ceases not day or night?
[02] And Reuel, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, This course of burning fire, which ceases not day or night and flows westward, it follows all the luminaries of the shamayim.
[03] And from there I was taken to the midst of the eretz, and I beheld mountains in the distance burning with fire, and coming closer I beheld seven magnificent mountains, (Gizeh), each one differing from another.
[04] And the stones of these mountains were magnificent and beautiful, magnificent as though one united glorious appearance by reason of the finely polished exteriors:
[05] Three eastward, one founded next to the other, and three southward, one after the other, and the ravines between were deep and rough, none of which joined with another.
[06] And the seventh mountain was in the midst of them, and it excelled them all in height, resembling the seat of the throne of Elah: and fragrant aromatic trees encircled the throne.
[07] And among these trees there was one such as I had never before smelled, neither was there another such tree among them, nor were any of the other trees like this one.
[08] And it had a fragrance beyond all others, and its leaves and blooms fail not, and its wood is incorruptible into the olamim: its fruit is beautiful, resembling the palm date.
[09] And I inquired, saying, Why is this tree so much more beautiful, and fragrant, and its leaves so much more fair, and its blooms so much more delightful in appearance?
[10] And Mikael, Sar Tzaba, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, Ĥenok, why do you ask regarding the fragrance of this tree, and why do you wish to learn the truth thereof?
[11] And I answered, saying, I wish to know about all truth, but especially the truth about this tree! and he answered me, saying, This great high mountain which you behold, whose summit is like the throne of Elah:
[12] It truly indeed represents His throne, the holy place where the Great Holy One, the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, will sit when He visits the eretz with His goodness.
[13] And as for this fragrant tree, it is incorruptible, its leaves and blooms fail not, and its wood is incorruptible into the olamim of the olamim:
[14] And no mortal of the adam is permitted to touch it until the Great Judgment, when vengeance has been executed upon all, and when everything has been brought to its consummation for the olamim of the olamim.
[15] And this tree is given to the Tzaddiqim, and its fruit is food for the Elect, and it shall be planted in the holy place, in the temple of the Absolute Master, the Eternal King.
[16] At that time the righteous will rejoice with all joy, and will be exceedingly glad, for it will enter into the holy place and its fragrance will be in their bones.
[17] And they will live the life of olam upon the eretz, such as your fathers lived, (as the days of the shamayim upon the eretz), and in their days neither sorrow nor plague nor torment nor calamity will touch them.
[18] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, who has created and prepared such things for the righteous, and has promised to give them these things.
[19] And from there I was taken to another place in the midst of the eretz, (Yerushalem), and I beheld a blessed place wherein were trees with branches abiding and blooming: and I beheld a holy mountain, and beneath the mountain eastward a stream flowed out and traversed southward.
[20] And I saw eastward another high mountain, and between them a deep and narrow ravine, and a stream also flowed therein beneath the mountain: and westward there was yet another mountain of lesser elevation.
[21] And there was another deep and dry ravine between these, and there was yet another deep and dry ravine at the extremities of these three hills: all the ravines were deep and narrow, and formed of hard rock, and there were no trees planted therein.
[22] And I marveled at the hard rock, and I marveled at the ravine, yea, I marveled very much, and I said, For what reason is this blessed land, which is entirely filled with trees, and yet this accursed valley between?
[23] And Soreqael, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying, This accursed valley is for those accursed into the olam: here all the accursed will be gathered, and those who utter blasphemies with their lips against the Absolute Master of Glory, and who speak harsh things against His Glory.
[24] Here they will be gathered together, and here they will be cut off and cast off: and in the last days they will be a spectacle of righteous judgment in the presence of the holy ones into olam, (where their worm dies not and their fire is not quenched, GeHinnom).
[25] Here the righteous will bless the Absolute Master of Glory, the Eternal King, for in the days of the judgment against the sinners, the righteous will bless Him for His mercy in accordance with the lot He has assigned them.
[26] And I blessed the Absolute Master of Glory, who has set forth His Glory in these things, and I lauded and praised His Majesty.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 5A
[01] And from there I was conducted eastward, into the midst of a mountain range of the desert, and there I beheld a solitary oasis full of trees and plants:
[02] And I beheld waters flowing from above, rushing like a copious watercourse, flowing out toward the northwest, and it made clouds of mist and dew to ascend on every side.
[03] And from there I was taken to another place in the desert, approaching along the eastern side of that mountain range: and I beheld odoriferous trees breathing out the aromatic perfumes of incense and myrrh, and the trees were similar to the almond tree.
[04] And beyond these mountains they conducted me very far eastward, and I beheld another vast place, with valleys of great waters, wherein were sweet calamus-reeds that had a smell similar to the mastic tree.
[05] And upon the banks of these valleys of great waters I beheld the aromatic trees whose bark is used to make kaneh-manna (the ink used with chamar blood of the grape for sacred writings).
[06] And beyond these valleys we proceeded further eastward, and I beheld other mountains wherein were trees from which come the resin called styrax and galbanum.
[07] And beyond these mountains I was shown another mountain toward the extremities of the eretz eastward, and all the trees thereon were aloes: and all the trees bled stacte, like the almond tree, and when cuts are made in the bark a pleasant aroma exudes:
[08] And when the bark of this tree is ground to powder, and incensed, the scent burns sweeter than any aromatic perfume fragrance.
[09] And beyond these mountains and odoriferous trees, looking northward over the mountains, I was shown other mountains that were plentiful with choice nard, and aromatic trees, and cardamom, and pepper.
[10] And from there I was conducted over the summits of all these mountains, far eastward over the eretz, passing over the Erythraean Sea, and I came to the end, the eastern extremity of the eretz.
[11] And from there we crossed over the great darkness, and far from it, and came to the Paradise-Garden of Righteousness, and I beheld from a short distance very numerous and large trees, different from each other, and of pleasant fragrances.
[12] And I beheld therein a tree that was different from all the rest, very strong and beautiful and glorious and magnificent: the tree of knowledge, the fruit of which was taken and eaten to attain wisdom.
[13] Its height is like the terebinth, and its leaves shaped as arrowheads, and the colors of its fruit as the cluster of the vine, very cheerful, and the fragrance of the tree carries afar.
[14] And I said, How beautiful is that tree! and how pleasing it is to behold! and Gabriel, one of holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me, answered me, saying:
[15] That is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, from which your father of old and mother of old who were before you did take and eat:
[16] And they indeed gained knowledge in that their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and the adam was driven out from the Paradise Garden for transgressing the commandment.
[17] Then I was conducted through all the extremities of the eretz, and I beheld great beasts, one different from another, and flyers of the shamayim, each different from another in appearance, and in beauty, and in voice.
[18] Eastward I beheld the eastern extremity of the eretz, where the shamayim came to rest, and behold, there where three gates of the shamayim open: and there I beheld how the stars of the shamayim come forth, and I counted the gates from which they proceed.
[19] And I noted the gates of each star according to their number, and according to their courses, and according to their positions, and according to their appointed times, and according to their months.
[20] And Uriel showed me these, one of the holy Watchers and the Holy One who was with me: and he showed me all these things, and I wrote them down.
[21] And from there I was conducted to the northern extremity of the eretz, and I beheld there a glorious creation where the shamayim came to rest, and I beheld there three gates of the shamayim open.
[22] And from there I was conducted to the western extremity of the eretz, and I beheld there three gates of the shamayim open, such as I beheld in the east, the same number of gates.
[23] And from there I was conducted to the southern extremity of the eretz, and I beheld there three gates of the shamayim open.
[24] And from there I was conducted again to the eastern extremity of the eretz, and I beheld there again three gates of the shamayim open, and moreover lesser windows above them.
[25] Through each of these gates pass the stars of the shamayim, and run their courses on the path which is appointed for them: twelve gates, three gates on each of the four quadrants of this glorious heavenly creation.
[26] And with whatever I beheld, I continually blessed the Most High, the Absolute Master of Glory, who has created such great and glorious wonders to show His Mighty works to the Malakim and to the sons of Adam: that they might praise His glorious works in all His creation, and see His Mighty Power, and bless Him into the olamim of the olamim.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 5B
[01] And I, Ĥenok, lifted up my voice to my son Mathushalaĥ, saying, And now, my son Mathushalaĥ, I will show you the visions I have seen and recount them before you: I saw two visions before I took a wife, and the first was quite unlike the second.
[02] The first occurred when I was learning to write, and the second was just before I took your mother: and regarding the first, I had offered an ascending prayer offering unto the Master of Glory, and was laid down in the house of my grandfather Mahalalel.
[03] And I saw a vision wherein the shamayim were rent, and collapsed, and fell to the eretz: and the shamayim being cut down, I beheld the eretz swallowed up into the abyss.
[04] And mountains were thrust into mountains, and hills were thrust onto hills, and great trees were rent from their trunks, and hurled down, and sank into the abyss.
[05] And thereupon speech fell into my mouth, and I lifted up my voice, crying aloud, saying, The whole of the eretz is destroyed!
[06] And my grandfather Mahalalel wakened me as I lay nearby, and said to me, Why do you cry out thus, my son, and why do you make such lamentation?
[07] And I recounted to him the whole vision which I had seen, and he said to me, You have seen a terrible thing, my son, and your dream is of grave importance.
[08] Because of the secrets of all the sin upon the eretz, it must sink into the abyss, and the eretz will be destroyed with a great destruction: and now, my son, arise and make supplication to the Absolute Master of Olam, that a remnant may remain upon the eretz, that He might not destroy the whole eretz:
[09] For all of this will come upon the eretz from the Master of the shamayim, and there will be great destruction and desolation upon the eretz.
[10] And upon that I arose, and prayed and implored and besought, and I lifted up my hands and blessed the Great Holy One, and said with the breath of my mouth, by the tongue of flesh which Elah has made for the sons of the adam to speak with:
[11] Blessed are You, O Master, the Great King, the Master of the whole creation and of the shamayim, King of kings and Elah of the whole world, Your Rule is throughout all generations, and Your Power and Dominion abide into the olamim of the olamim:
[12] All the shamayim are Your throne into the olamim of the olamim, and all the eretz is Your footstool into the olamim of the olamim, for You have made all things.
[13] You are the Master of all things, and nothing is too hard for You, for wisdom never departs from the place of Your throne, nor turns away from Your Presence.
[14] You see and hear and know all things, and there is nothing hidden from You: and now certain ones of the Malakim of Your shamayim are guilty of trespass, and Your wrath abides upon the flesh of the adam unto the Great Day of Judgment.
[15] O Elah Olamah, we implore and beseech You to hear our prayer and leave us a posterity upon the eretz: destroy not all flesh of the adam, and make not the eretz to be without inhabitant, that there should be desolation into the olamim of the olamim.
[16] O Adoni, we beseech You, though You destroy the flesh upon the eretz that has provoked Your fury, establish a Plant of Righteousness for an everlasting seed of righteousness, to bear fruit upon the eretz into the olamim for Your Glory.
[17] O Adoni, we beseech You, hide not Your face from the prayer of Your servants.
[18] And later, after this, I beheld another dream: and now I will show the dream to you, my son, unto you and even to all my future sons I will speak: hear my words, and incline your ear to the dream vision of your father.
[19] Not long before I took your mother, Ednah, (feminine form of Eden), I saw a dream vision upon my bed, and behold, an ox came forth from the adamah, and the ox was white.
[20] And out of it came forth a cow, and after this the cow produced two oxen: one of them was black as the darkness, and the other was red as blood, and the cow also produced a female cow.
[21] And the black ox gored the red ox and pursued it over the eretz: after that I could no longer see the red ox.
[22] And the black ox grew mighty, and he took the young female cow and went forth to a desert place: and I beheld oxen proceeding from him, resembling him, and they followed him.
[23] And the first cow of the white ox went forth from his presence to seek the red one that was gored, but found him not: and she lamented with great lamentations over him, searching for him.
[24] And I watched until the white ox came to her, and comforted her, and from that time onward the cow cried no more: for after that she produced another white ox, and after that she produced many oxen and cows.
[25] And I watched in my sleep how the first white ox also grew, and he became a white bull: and from him were produced bulls, and they resembled him.
[26] And the white bulls produced white bulls which resembled them: one following another in succession.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 6A
[01] And I lifted up my eyes in sleep, and behold, as I looked to the shamayim above, a star fell from the shamayim: and it rose up and mingled among the oxen.
[02] And after that I saw black oxen, and behold, they all changed their stalls, and their pastures, and their kind, and began to intermix with the wandering stars:
[03] For as I watched in the vision, looking toward the shamayim, behold, I saw more stars descending, casting themselves down from the shamayim to the same place as the first star, and they became black bulls among the oxen, and mingled among them.
[04] And I watched in the vision, and behold, the black bulls mingled with the cows of the black oxen, and the cows conceived, and produced great Gemalim, (Gibborim), and Philim, (Nephilim), and `Aradim, (`Elioud).
[05] And all the other oxen became terrified of the wild beasts, for they began to bite with their teeth, and to gore with their horns, and to devour much flesh.
[06] And soon they began to devour some of the oxen, and behold, all the sons of the eretz began to tremble and quake and fled from before them in terror.
[07] And I watched in the vision how they began to bite, and to devour, and to gore with their horns: and the eretz began to cry out for the blood being shed upon it.
[08] And again I lifted up my eyes to the shamayim, and I watched in the vision, and behold, Holy Ones came forth from the shamayim, and they appeared as beings of white light in the form of men, and four came forth first from the shamayim and three more followd immediately with them:
[09] And they were sent as one to an ox, to instruct him concerning a mystery: and he was born a white ox, but as he stood trembling at their appearance, he became a white bull.
[10] And he was instructed how to build a great (sea-going) vessel with a covering, and thus he did, and when it was complete he was commanded to enter therein, and three oxen with him, and when they had finished entering the vessel they were safely enclosed therein, (by the hidden Hand).
[11] After that the final three which had come forth from the shamayim came and took me by the hand, and took me up, away from the generations of the eretz.
[12] And they raised me up to a heavenly place, and showed me a lofty citadel exalted high above the eretz, and every mountain was below this heavenly citadel.
[13] And one of the three said to me, Abide here until you see all that befalls the camels, (Gemalim), the elephants, (Philim), the wild donkeys, (`Aradim), the black oxen, and the wandering stars, even all of them.
[14] And I was watching, and behold, one of the first four who had come forth from the shamayim seized the first star which had fallen from the shamayim, and bound him hand and foot, and cast him into a deep and dark and narrow abyss which he had opened in the desert with a great hailstone from the shamayim, (the meteor which also destroyed the city of Qain at the same time).
[15] And another of the four drew a sword and gave it to the camels, the elephants, and the wild donkeys, and they began to smite one another, and all the eretz quaked because of them.
[16] And I watched in the vision, and behold, one of the four stoned them from the shamayim with great hailstones, and he gathered all the wandering stars and bound them hand and foot, and cast them into the valleys of the eretz.
[17] And again I lifted up my eyes, and behold, seven windows like cataracts began pouring out great torrents of water upon the eretz.
[18] And I watched, and behold, the fountains of the chasms were opened up deep inside the eretz, and the waters rose up, and burst out onto the surface of the eretz.
[19] And I watched until the surface of the eretz was covered by the waters, and by darkness, and with the vapor and mist of gloomy darkness.
[20] And the waters stood upon the eretz, and they continued to rise, and the water and darkness and vapor and mist increased mightily upon the eretz.
[21] And all the oxen were submerged, and they perished in the waters: but the vessel walked upon the waters, while the oxen and the camels and the elephants and the wild donkeys perished.
[22] And I watched in the vision, and behold, the windows of the torrents of the waters from on High closed up, and the chasms of the deep within the eretz were stopped up.
[23] And other empty chasms also opened up in the eretz, and the waters began to run down into the empty chasms, until the surface of the eretz became visible again.
[24] And the vessel settled on the eretz, and the darkness retired, and the light appeared, and behold, a sevenfold bow of seven colors of light shone in the clouds of the shamayim.
[25] And the ox which had become a white bull came forth from the vessel, and the three oxen with him: and one of the oxen also became a white bull, and one of them was red as blood, and one of them was black as the raven.
[26] And behold, the seed of the Plant of Righteousness continued through the white ox who became a white bull, but from the black ox came forth yet again the same genera, being called the Gibborim, the Nephilim, and the `Elioud, (Rephaim, and moreover the monsters of terror from among their offspring: the Rephaim Emim, the Rephaim Ĥorim, the Rephaim Zuzim, and the Rephaim Zamzumim).
SEFER HENOK TABLET 6B
[01] Sefer of Ĥenok the Scribe, for all the sons of my house who will sojourn upon the eretz, and for the future generations who will observe uprightness and peace.
[02] Let not your heart be troubled on account of the appointed times:
[03] For the Great Holy One has appointed days and appointed times for all things, and the one who is a Tzaddiq will awaken from his sleep, and will walk in the path of righteousness.
[04] All his path and discourse will be in everlasting goodness and grace, for the Most High will be gracious to the upright, and will bestow unto him everlasting righteousness.
[05] He will endow the upright with goodness and righteousness, and the upright shall walk in the eternal Light, and sin will perish in darkness into the olamim, and will no more be seen from that day into the olamim.
[06] And now, my son Mathushalaĥ, gather all the sons of your mother, and call your brethren unto me, that I may show you all that will befall you into the olam:
[07] For the Word beckons me, and the Spirit is poured out upon me.
[08] And thereupon Mathushalaĥ went and summoned all his brethren, and all the brethren were assembled, and I, Ĥenok, said to all the sons of righteousness:
[09] Hear, O sons of Ĥenok, all the words of your father, and hearken intelligently to the words of my mouth, for I exhort you, beloved, and I say to you:
[10] Love uprightness, and walk therein, and draw not near unto uprightness with a double heart, and associate not with those of a double heart.
[11] Walk in righteousness and truth, my sons, and this will guide you on the good path, and righteousness will be your companion in the way.
[12] For I know that violence must increase upon the eretz, and a great chastisement will be executed upon the eretz, and all unrighteousness must come to its end.
[13] Yea, violence will be cut off at the roots, and the entire construct thereof will be destroyed: but unrighteousness will again be consummated upon the eretz.
[14] And all the deeds of unrighteousness and violence and transgression will again prevail upon the eretz in a twofold manner worse than the first.
[15] And when sin and unrighteousness and blasphemy and violence of all kinds of deeds have increased, and apostasy and transgression and uncleannesses have increased:
[16] Then shall a great chastisement come from the shamayim upon all these things.
[17] For the Great Holy One, the Absolute Master of Glory, will come forth in the fury of His wrath and chastisement to execute judgment upon the eretz.
[18] And in those days unrighteousness will be cut off at the roots, and likewise the shoots of violence together with deceit, and they shall be destroyed from beneath the shamayim.
[19] And all the idols of the heathen shall be abandoned, and their temples shall be burned with fire, and they themselves shall removed from the whole eretz and cast into the conflagration of the flame, and shall perish in wrath and with a grievous judgment into the olamim of the olamim.
[20] Then shall the Tzaddiqim awaken from their sleep, and Wisdom shall also arise, and Wisdom shall be given to the Tzaddiqim.
[21] And then even the roots of unrighteousness shall be cut out, and the wicked shall be destroyed with the sword of righteousness, and the blasphemers shall be cut off in every place, and those who plan violence and commit blasphemy shall perish by the sword of righteousness that will be given to the Tzaddiqim.
[22] And now I tell you, my sons, and show you the path of righteousness and the path of violence: yea, I show you again, that you may know what shall come to pass.
[23] Now therefore hearken to me, my sons, and walk in the path of righteousness, and walk not in the path of violence: for all who walk in the path of unrighteousness will perish.
[24] Concerning the sons of righteousness and the elect of the world, and concerning the Plant of Righteousness, of these things I will speak:
[25] Yea, I declare them unto you again, my sons, expounding from the Seferim, and according to that which appeared to me in heavenly visions:
[26] According to what I have come to know and understand through the Word, by way of the Holy Watchers and the Holy One, and from the Heavenly Tablets which I have read, and have come to understand everything.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 7A
[01] And now I say to you, my sons, love righteousness and walk therein: for the path of righteousness is worthy and acceptable, but the path of unrighteousness will suddenly be destroyed and disappear.
[02] And to certain ones of a generation shall the path of violence and of death be revealed, and they shall keep themselves far from them, and shall not follow to walk therein.
[03] And now I say unto you, the righteous, Walk not in the paths of wickedness, nor in the paths of death, and draw not near to them, lest you be consumed, but seek and choose for yourselves righteousness and the life of the Elect, and walk in the path of peace, and so shall you live and prosper.
[04] And hold fast my words in the thoughts of your hearts, and suffer them not to be erased from your hearts: for I know that sinners will tempt men to count wisdom as evil, so that no place may be found for her, and no manner of temptation will they withold.
[05] Woe to those who build with unrighteousness and oppression, and lay deceit as a foundation, for they shall be suddenly overthrown, and they shall have no peace! Woe to those who build their houses with sin, for all their foundations shall be overthrown, and they shall fall by sword.
[06] Woe to you, O rich, for you have trusted in your riches, and your riches shall depart from you, for you have not remembered the Most High in the days of your riches: you have committed blasphemy and unrighteousness, and are prepared for the day of slaughter, and the day of darkness and of the great judgment
[07] Thus I say and declare unto you, He who has created you will overthrow you, and in your fall there shall be no compassion, and your Creator will rejoice at your destruction: and the Tzaddiqim in those days shall be for a rebuke to the wicked and the impious.
[08] Oh that mine eyes were clouds full of waters, that I might weep over you and pour down my tears as when a cloud of water drops rain: that I might rest from the trouble of my heart! Who has permitted you to practice reproachful things and wickedness? Judgment shall overtake you, O sinners!
[09] Fear not the sinners, O righteous ones, for again will the Master deliver them into your hands, that you may execute righteous judgment upon them according to truth.
[10] Woe to you who fulminate anathemas and curses which cannot be reversed: healing shall therefore be far from you because of your sinful deeds! Woe to you who requite your neighbour with evil: for you shall be requited according to your works!
[11] Woe to you, lying witnesses, and to those who mete out injustice: for suddenly shall you perish! Woe to you, sinners, who persecute the righteous: for you shall be delivered up, and shall be persecuted because of injustice, and heavy shall be its yoke upon you!
[12] Be hopeful, O righteous ones, for suddenly the sinners shall perish before you, and you shall have dominion over them according to the Word of Truth.
[13] And in the day of the tribulation of the sinners, your children shall mount up and rise as eagles, and your nest shall be higher than the vultures: you shall ascend to higher crevices of the eretz, and into the clefts of the highest rock before the unrighteous, into the olamim, and the sirens shall sigh and weep because of you.
[14] Wherefore, fear not, you that have suffered: for healing shall be your portion, and the bright Light shall enlighten you, and the voice of rest shall you hear from the shamayim.
[15] Woe to you, O sinners! for your riches cause you to appear as righteous, but your hearts convict you of your sins, and this truth will be a testimony against you, for a memorial of your evil deeds.
[16] Woe to you who devour the finest of the wheat, and drink wine in great fancy bowls, and tread under foot the lowly with your might! Woe to you who drink water from every fountain, for suddenly shall you be consumed and wither away: for you have forsaken the fountain of Life!
[17] Woe to you who work unrighteousness and deceit and blasphemy: it shall be a memorial against you for evil! Woe to you, O mighty ones, who mightily oppress the righteous: for the day of your destruction is near.
[18] And in those days many and good days shall come to the righteous, even in the day of your judgment
[19] Believe, O righteous ones, that sinners will become a shame, and will perish in the day of unrighteousness.
[20] Be it known unto you, O sinners, that the Most High is mindful of your destruction, and the Malakim of the shamayim will rejoice over your destruction.
[21] What shall you do, O sinners, and to where shall you flee in the day of judgment, when you hear the voice of the prayer of the righteous? Yea, you shall fare just as those against whom this word shall be a testimony: You have been companions of the wicked!
[22] And in those days the prayer of the righteous will reach unto the Master, and for you, the days of your judgment will come, and all your words of unrighteousness will be read before the Great Holy One, and your faces will be covered with shame: for He will reject every work that is grounded in unrighteousness.
[23] Woe to you, O sinners, living in the isles of the sea and on dry land, whose remembrance is evil against you!
[24] Woe to you who acquire silver and gold in unrighteousness, and say, We have become rich with riches, and have acquired all which our hearts desired:
[25] And now let us do as we please, for we have gathered silver, and many are the husbandmen in our houses, and our granaries are full to the brim as with water!
[26] Yea, and like water shall your lies flow away, for your riches shall not abide, but shall speedily fly away from you: for you have acquired all of it in unrighteousness, and you shall be given over to a great curse.
SEFER HENOK TABLET 7B
[01] And I, Ĥenok, took up my parable, and continued to expound from the Seferim, saying,
[02] I, Ĥenok, the seventh (from Adam) I was born, (4775 BC) in the first week, (4831-4341 BC), and until my time upright judgment yet endured.
[03] And after me shall arise a second week, (4341-3851 BC), wherein violence and deceit shall have sprouted up: and because of it the first end shall come, (3761 BC – 480th Year of Noaĥ – War of the Giants commences).
[04] And in that week the adam (mankind) shall be safe, but with its end fraudulence and injustice shall have blossomed, and a command shall be given because of the transgressors, (3761 BC – Noaĥ told to build the Ark).
[05] And after that a third week shall arise, (3851-3361 BC), wherein a certain one shall be chosen as the Branch of Righteous Judgment, (Noaĥ, 3761 BC, and at the Deluge, 3641 BC, 120 Years later upon the destruction of the Giants), and his genos shall be the Plant of Righteousness into the olamim of the olamim.
[06] And after that shall arise a fourth week, (3361-2871 BC), wherein visions of the Holy Ones and the Tzedeq shall be seen, and a statute for the boundaries of every nation-generation shall be set, (days of Pheleg – 3111 BC).
[07] And after that shall arise a fifth week, (2871-2381 BC), wherein the house of glory and dominion shall be built for the olamim, (House of Abraham – born 2407 BC).
[08] And after that shall arise a sixth week, (2381-1891 BC), and all who abide therein shall be darkened, and the hearts of all shall be forgetful of wisdom, and in it a certain one shall ascend, (Yoseph age 30 – 2126 BC).
[09] And with its end the house of dominion shall be burned with fire: and the whole stalk of the elect root shall be cut down, (Yisrael in bondage).
[10] And after that shall arise a seventh week, (1891-1401 BC), wherein an apostate generation shall arise, (commencing with the wilderness sojourn), and manifold shall be its deeds, and all its works shall be apostate.
[11] And within it shall elect ones be chosen from the eternal Plant of Righteousness to receive sevenfold instruction in wisdom and knowledge for righteous testimonies, (Exodus and giving of the Torah), and they shall root out the foundations of violence and the construct of falsehood therein, to execute justice, (Shoftim).
[12] And thereafter shall arise an eighth week, (1401-911 BC), that of righteousness, wherein a sword shall be given to all the righteous, to exact righteous judgment from all the wicked: and the wicked shall be delivered into the hands of the righteous, (remainder of the Shoftim era through kings David and Shelomoh).
[13] And with its end shall the righteous have acquired righteous riches, and shall build a royal House to the Great Holy One in His glorious splendor for all generations into the olamim, (House of YHWH by Shelomoh).
[14] And thereafter shall arise a ninth week, (911-421 BC), wherein righteousness and upright judgment shall be revealed to all the eretz, and all the workers of wickedness shall pass away from all the eretz, and the wicked shall be cast into the eternal Pit, and all shall look toward the upright eternal way, (period of the Prophets).
[15] And thereafter shall arise the tenth week, (421 BC-70 AD), and (with its opening the Holy House shall be rebuilt-renewed), and in the seventh portion of the week, (1 BC-70 AD), the everlasting Judgment and appointed time of the Great Judgment shall be executed with vengeance in the midst of the holy ones, to avenge them.
[16] And the former shamayim shall pass away, and a new shamayim will appear, and all the powers of the shamayim will arise and shine with sevenfold light into the olamim of the olamim.
[17] And after this there shall be manifold weeks without number, into the olamim of the olamim: everything will be in goodness and righteousness, and sin will no more be mentioned into the olamim of the olamim.
[18] But who is there among the adam that is able to understand the Word of Elah?
[19] And who is there among all the sons of the adam that is able to hear the words of the Great Holy One and not be troubled?
[20] And who is there among the sons of the adam that is able to think His thoughts?
[21] And who is there that is able to contemplate all the workmanship of the shamayim?
[22] And who is there that is able to comprehend the workings of the shamayim? one may behold its animation but not its Spirit: he may converse respecting it, but he cannot ascend up into it.
[23] One may observe the workings of all these things, and meditate upon them, but he cannot make anything like them.
[24] And who among all the adam is able to understand the breadth and length of the eretz? for by whom have the dimensions of all these things been seen or measured?
[25] Is there any one that is able to comprehend the breadth of the shamayim? or what the elevation of the shamayim may be? or on what the shamayim are founded?
[26] Where do the luminaries rest? And how great is the number of the stars if you can tell?
Epilogue: The Aramaic fragments of Ĥenok discovered at Damashek, (Khirbet Qumran), predate the Ethiopic Ge'ez text and language by about five to six hundred years. Moreover no portion of the so-called Book of Parables in the Ethiopic text of Ĥenok were found in the Aramaic fragments at Damashek. Therefore the Book of Parables from the Ethiopic text has not been incuded herein for having been deemed as likely a later Christian source, probably coming originally out of Alexandria, Egypt, written in Greek, and then later rendered into Ge'ez. In addition to this, at Damashek-Qumran, the fragments containing portions of Sefer of the Luminaries were never part of the Ĥenok corpus, but were always from separate scrolls, meaning that Sefer of the Luminaries was always its own separate work apart from Sefer Ĥenok. Sefer of the Luminaires also appears to have been heavily redacted in the Ge'ez version and yet heavily enlarged at Damashek-Qumran. Moreover Sefer of the Luminaries at Damashek appears to have been used in support of Sefer haYoblim, (the Book of Jubilees).
However Sefer haYoblim employs the Samaritan Pentateuch from Adam to the Deluge for its genealogical chronology of Toldoth-Genesis 5. This may easily be seen in the text of Yoblim, however, when it arrives at the birth of Ĥenok, there are seven years added to the chronology to make Ĥenok to be born in AM 529 instead of AM 522, (the Samaritan Pentateuch reading). Why would the author do this? The reason is found at the Deluge, which occurs in Yoblim at the year AM 1308, for if one simply counts the years from the birth of Ĥenok therein, to the Deluge, the years add up to 779/780 years. Why 780? That number is the total of two weeks of 390 years, (390+390=780). Thus the author of Yoblim is clearly adjusting the birth of Ĥenok into the position of having been born in the same year as the starting date of his version of the Ten Weeks of Ĥenok, (390 years per week for a total of 3900 years). Yet, in the actual text of Ĥenok, he does not say that he was born at the commencement of the first week, rather, Ĥenok says that he was born seventh, (from Adam), in the first week, and thus it is much more likely that Ĥenok was born somewhere within the first week and not at the commencement of it, and this has been shown above herein according to the scripture chronology: it also strongly implies that Sefer Ĥenok predates the Yahad-Community at Damashek because, without altering the text, Ĥenok still fully supports the much longer chronology as found in the LXX, the Yosephus account, and the first century L.A.B. document.
So then, because the author of Sefer haYoblim chose to follow the Samaritan Pentateuch chronology, he did not have room for a period of Ten Weeks of 490 years in his chronolgical framework. Mowever it is highly unlikely that the Samaritan Pentateuch can be correct in its genealogical chronology of Toldoth-Genesis 5. Therefore, because of all of the above concerning Sefer of the Luminaries, it also has not been included herein as part of the corpus of Sefer Ĥenok. There would likely have been an original Sefer of the Luminaries, (by a similar name, and probably written by Enosh the son of Sheth), but the current form has been so heavily reworked, enlarged, and redacted, that in its current form it cannot be trusted.

Yhalal-Yowr – Pure-Bright River of Light (יהיאור separated as YH-YOWR, Toldoth-Breshiyth 1:3)
Yhalal is a form of halal, to praise, but halal also means bright, clean, clear, pure, shining, radiant. Yowr is a stream or river and in this case it would probably have contained the waw, (יאור). This is the same spelling of Yowr in Yeshayah 19:7-8, 23:3, and for the Nile in Amos 8:8. Without the waw the same word is found in the Torah for the Nile, Yor Mitzraim, the River of Egypt.
More importantly Yor/Yowr is employed in Daniel 12:5-7, which appears to be expounding the meaning herein: for the certain one clothed in fine linen is stationed upon the waters of the Yowr, and that one is the Son, the Word, Yhalal-Yowr, the Pure Bright River of Light from the Father, the same fountain of pure clear water in the midst of the bright chamber of Habel, (Ĥenok 4A:16), which would later come to be known as Abraham's bosom, (as in Luke 16:22). We therefore have part of the name Yhalal-Yowr expounded in the Prophet Daniel.
In Ĥenok the Word, Ruah Elohim, (Toldoth 1:1-2), YHYOWR, is sent to the son of Lamek, (Noaĥ), but the form of the name has Asar attached as a prefix, (H631 אסר), and therefore we find in the Ge'ez, Asaryalalyur. The first four letters, Asar, are easily confused with Sariel, but this word Asar means yoked, (also used for prisoners), and thus the name Asar-Yhalal-Yowr means the whole seven of the holy Watchers yoked together as one, that is, as one united with the Word, the Holy One who speaks through them. The same principle is used of the Morning Stars in Iob 38:7, which are the seven in the beginning, Toldoth Tablet 1A. And since the ending of the name Yhalal-Yowr is rendered as Yur in the Ge'ez, this strongly implies that this form Yor/Yowr probably contained the waw, (יאור), and thus it was rendered as Yur, as also in the name Uriel, which is constructed with the waw just as is the word for light in Toldoth 1:3, (but with the added theophoric suffix El in Uriel, אוריאל).
אור is Light
יאור is the River of Light – the Bow of Elohim – the Rainbow
When the Ten Weeks of Ĥenok are counted as normal weeks they constitute one year, counting only the feasts which bnei Yisrael are commanded to count and observe, and the dedication of the altar of adamah: seven weeks for Ĥag Shabuot, (Feast of Weeks), one week for Ĥag Sukkot, (Feast of Tabernacles), one week for the Dedication of the Altar, and one week for Ĥag Pesaĥ-Matzot. Moreover in every yom-day of these ten weeks are seven yamim-hours in each yom-day on the sacred calendar day, four hundred and ninety yamim, and the Ten Weeks of Ĥenok may therefore be fulfilled in one acceptable year of Elah Olamah counting only the things prescribed in the Torah. And since there are ten weeks prescribed in a year, one may also see that in ten years there are a total of four thousand and nine hundred yamim counting in the manner of the seven hours in the sacred calendar day, (seven yamim-hours in a yom-day).
In addition to all this, if we count the creation days of Toldoth Tablet 1a as great days of a thousand years, we find almost twelve thousand years from Toldoth 1:1 to the first century AD. It is not just that one of the ways of counting the days must be true and the others not: it is that all of them are true, (for Yom is Light), and Daniel the Prophet expounds and expands upon these things while maintaining the same typological framework from the Ten Weeks of Ĥenok. Yom is employed for many different increments of time in the scripture: a yom for a day, a day for a year, and a year for a day, a thousand years are as one yom, and one yom as a thousand years with the Most High, and a thousand years are as yesterday when it is passed in the eyes of the Most High, and as a watch in the night, which we know is merely three hours. If therefore a yom may be all these things then surely a yom may also be an hour as in the seven yamim-hours in a yom-day in the sacred calendar day in Toldoth 1.
