Policy

In Central America current Cocoa development projects involve around 10,000 small-scale cocoa growing households organized in 50

Cooperatives and Associations (benefiting 50,000 persons). Spreading lessons generated by the project to other cocoa growing

countries of the region will permit a majority of them to be potential users of the application free of cost for scaling site-specific CSC agroforestry systems.

In these countries, there are more than 100 local, regional and international organizations involved in development of cocoa value

chains, who will also be the potential users of the applications for scaling Climate Smart Cocoa agroforestry systems developed by this project.

These applications are freely downloaded public goods with no user cost and designed for collective learning. Maintenance and access of

these application, will supported by a non-profit development organization RIKOLTO who will coordinate the training for the use of the applications.
