Derek H. is a passionate and accomplished speaker currently in Grade 10 at the University of Toronto Schools. With a strong foundation in public speaking and leadership, Derek has won multiple national speech championships, earning recognition for his clarity, confidence, and compelling delivery.

Derek began his Toastmasters journey as a dedicated member of The Voice Gavel Club, where he quickly rose as a standout speaker and role model for other youth members. His enthusiasm, humility, and drive to improve helped foster a supportive and high-achieving club environment.

Beyond Toastmasters, Derek is an active student council member, demonstrating leadership in school initiatives and community events. His ability to connect, lead, and inspire peers makes him a natural communicator and a strong advocate for youth development.

As a rising leader, Derek encourages young people to discover the power of their voice through Toastmasters. His journey is a testament to how Gavel Clubs can help youth build confidence, leadership, and lifelong communication skills.

Darek Z. is a dedicated and disciplined Grade 11 student at White Oaks High School. With a passion for leadership and teamwork, he has been a long-term participant in the Air Cadet program, where he continues to develop his skills in communication, discipline, and community service.

As an active member of the Air Cadet Music Band, Darek combines his love for music with teamwork, contributing to performances that inspire unity and pride. His commitment and reliability have made him a respected member among his peers.

Within the Leaders of Tomorrow Gavel Club, Darek serves as a senior member, demonstrating maturity, confidence, and mentorship to younger speakers. His steady leadership and calm presence contribute to a positive and professional club atmosphere.

Darek’s journey reflects his belief in service, growth, and leadership through action — qualities that make him a strong role model and an inspiration to others.

Ryan C. is a dynamic and articulate Grade 9 student at Iroquois Ridge High School, recognized for his strong presence as a speaker and leader. A proud graduate of the Youth Leadership Program, Ryan completed the program with distinction, demonstrating remarkable growth in both communication and leadership skills.

Throughout his training, Ryan sharpened his public speaking abilities and discovered the power of motivating others through clear, confident, and purposeful communication. His engaging style, positive attitude, and natural ability to connect with audiences leave a lasting impact wherever he speaks.

Beyond the program, Ryan continues to stay active within his school and community, using his leadership skills to support and inspire his peers. He consistently seeks opportunities to contribute, collaborate, and make a difference.

As an emerging young leader, Ryan exemplifies how confidence, clarity, and a commitment to growth can shape meaningful success and strong teamwork. He is a rising voice with great potential, and his leadership journey is only just beginning.

Reanna H. – Grade 7, W.H. Morden Public School (Gifted Program). She is a confident and creative speaker currently in Grade 7 at W.H. Morden Public School, where she is enrolled in the Gifted Program. A proud Youth Leadership Program alumna, Reanna has developed a strong foundation in public speaking and leadership, known for her expressive delivery and warm presence.

Her journey in communication began with the Youth Leadership Program, where she discovered her passion for speaking and inspiring others. Since then, she has continued to grow as a leader and motivator among her peers, actively using her voice to make a positive impact.

Beyond public speaking, Reanna is the founder of her school’s Crochet Club, where she combines creativity and collaboration to build a welcoming space for students to connect, learn, and express themselves through art.

As a young leader, Reanna inspires others to embrace their voices with confidence and creativity, proving that leadership begins with passion, purpose, and the courage to share one’s unique talents.

Alice B. is a confident and expressive Grade 8 student at James W. Hill Public School, admired for her dedication to personal growth and her strong communication skills. She is a proud graduate of the Youth Leadership Program sponsored by the Miracle Chinese English Bilingual Toastmasters Club, where she developed outstanding skills in public speaking and leadership.

During the program, Alice refined her ability to communicate with clarity and purpose, discovering how powerful words can inspire and bring people together. Her thoughtful speaking style and warm presence leave a meaningful impression on listeners and teammates alike.

In addition to her leadership journey, Alice is an accomplished pianist with extraordinary musical talent. She passed Piano Level 10 before the age of ten and is now pursuing performance-level recognition—an achievement that reflects her discipline, passion, and artistic excellence.

Beyond her academic and musical accomplishments, Alice continues to actively participate in school and community activities, using her voice and creativity to encourage and support those around her.
