We understand surrendering your pet can be difficult, and we are here to make the transfer as simple as possible for you and your beloved pet. Regardless of the reasoning for the surrender, we are here for you and your pet. Currently we are working with very limited space, causing slowed surrender placement. We are working as hard as possible to place as many surrenders as we can. Some surrenders are taking several months to get to, please keep this in mind, and continue trying to find a home for your pet on your own.
All of the information submitted in the application will be verified, including your information, the pet's information, and the pet's behavior and temperament through testing prior to the surrender. Honesty in the surrender application is key to a seamless transfer. Discrepancies may result in the refusal of the pet. Most pets will be accepted despite some behavioral problems. Veterinary records may be requested. Pets will be scanned for microchips, and microchips must be registered to the current owner, who is surrendering the pet. If not, the transfer process may be slowed until the owner can be verified. The owner of the animal must be over the age of 18. Should your pet be denied, you will be notified of why. We are unable to operate as a temporary shelter at this time. Any pets surrendered will not be returned.
Surrender fees do apply to help care for the pet; all fees must be paid in full at the time of the transfer. Any other arrangements must be made prior to the transfer. We also require a negative heartworm test within 2 months of the transfer. Please, fill out a different form for each pet if you are attempting to surrender multiple
