The preferred pet form is not an adoption application. This form acts as a waitlist of people who are looking to adopt but are also looking for a specific pet. This also helps in our match making adoption process, to ensure the ideal pets get into ideal homes. No worries if you find your pet somewhere else! We can remove you from the list accordingly.

Look out for communications after submitting the form. We may have questions on your specifications. This form does not secure solely on a first-come basis, all aspects of the home and specific animal are looked at prior to adoption.

The adoption application does require personal information. All personal information is kept private, however may be shared if requested from a law enforcement agency. All information on the application is verified. 

We do not believe in adopting pets to be "gifts" to other households. Microchips are registered to the person on the application, whose information is verified. "Gifts" to people within the household are accepted, i.e: spouse or children. 

Adoption fees of $75 apply to every pet adopted. Each adopted pet will have Brazos County Tags if applicable, Rabies Vaccines, be Spayed/Neutered, and be Microchipped. Other medical history and vaccine status as received may be shared as well. Once an application is complete, we will reach out to you regarding the next steps to complete the adoption, including verification and a home check. 

Other requirements for adoption include: a home check, other pets in home to be spayed/neutered, and other pets to be up-to-date on rabies vaccines.
