Work on the the Progress Checks that are assigned on AP Classroom by hand on paper. There a Multiple Choice and Free Response component. Want a Google Doc version? You can print these out.
These need to be completed by hand on paper, with explanations/calculations for every question (including multiple choice) using logical and statistical justifications. Please do not complete this work digitally and then print it.
When you have completed your work on paper, enter your MCQ answers on AP Classroom. AP Classroom will tell you the correct answers as well as explanations as to why. The FRQ answers are included in the linked Google Docs above.
Correct your work. Don't erase your mistakes, instead, use another color pen to correct your answer and your explanations.
Homework does not count as part of your grade, however, if you complete this work in its entirety and turn it in before taking your unit test you will be eligible to do a retake on the unit test.
Open Note Quizzes (or ONQ's for short) will be given (ideally) once a week. These quizzes are comprised of one free response question (FRQ) from a previous AP Statistics Exam and you are allowed to... use your notes on them. If you are expecting to take the AP exam, know that you would have approximately 12 minutes to complete this.
These quizzes will be graded out of 5 points:
5 - Complete Response
4.8 - Substantial Response
4.3 - Developing Response
3.8 - Beginning Response
3.3 - Minimal Response
0 - No Evidence of Learning/Did not turn in
If you have not mastered the concept and receive a grade that you are unhappy with, you will be allowed to redo another version of the quiz on the same topic the following week. The grade that you score on the second quiz will replace the grade of the previous, even if it is lower.
Tests will be given at the end of every unit. They will consist of 10 multiple choice questions and two free response questions. Unless you have an accommodation for extended time on test, you will only have class time to complete your work.
On the actual AP exam you will have approximately
2 ½ minutes per multiple choice
12 minutes on each free response question
Since our classes are 75 minutes long, this leaves approximately 25 minutes longer on this test than in the actual AP setting. This is to accommodate for the extra time needed to write a brief explanation in the multiple choice sections.
Provided you completed the homework for the unit, you retake the test if you would like a chance to improve your grade. Please note, the most recent grade will be entered in the gradebook, even if it is lower. Before retaking the test, it might be helpful to review your first attempt using the...
