Apart from my work on bovine mastitis, I often accompany graduate students to farms where I assist in collecting tissue samples for other fields of cattle research.
I have traveled to Red Deer, Leduc, Lethbridge, Linden, and Olds to take blood, fecal, and milk specimens from hundreds of dairy cattle.
The collected samples are taken to the University of Calgary and analyzed by a technician to further our understanding of bovine viral (leukosis) and mycobacterial (Johne's disease) pathogens.
