The Antichess World Cup in 2018 was won by FM and ASGM arimakat, or Vladica Andrejic. The championship started as a 32-player double-elimination seeded knockout. When there were 8 players left, they played a round-robin Candidates tournament. The top Candidates were arimakat and Ogul1 who then played 30 games to decide the Championship. Since the final match finished 15-15, the overtime 10-games match was played in which arimakat became the world champion.

ACWC 2+5 2019

The 2019 Antichess World Cup consisted of three stages: Qualification (Swiss), Candidates (round-robin), and Final (1v1). The Qualification started as a 56-player 8-round Swiss tournament, and the three best players (GrohochetGrom, SmashTimeFools, Agaliana), together with Ogul1 (as 2018 runner-up) proceed to the Candidates. Ogul1 convincingly won all three matches and scheduled a rematch versus Arimakat (the 2018 winner) in the Final as Challenger. The Lichess World Antichess Champion 2019 was determined in the 12-game match between the reigning champion, Vladica Andrejić (Arimakat), and the challenger, Emirhan Oğul (Ogul1), where Arimakat defend the title.

At one point, 75 spectators watched as the two strong players battled for the championship. PepsiNGaming came out as the winner after 14 games, 8.5 to 5.5.
