While designing the “This is Where You Belong” divider, I placed the dominant photo in black and white and the blue bar behind the couple kissing to emphasize that feeling of belonging. I wanted the surrounding photos in color to build contrast from the dominant photo and chose to partially cut out the hands of the cheerleaders as a feeling of belonging that tied the photo package together. To create a reader entry point to the copy, I chose to put the actions of students in all capital letters with a gold color, and the final phrases in large fonts that changed in size to emphasize the feeling that each word/phrase evokes about belonging at Brighton.
