With this spread being in our mini-magazine of “What it Means to be a Bulldog,” I chose to use a full bleed blue background so it would stand out and not blend into where it was taped in the yearbook since it was a 9” x 8” magazine in a 9” x 12” book. With a photo collage to tell the story of Mr. BHS, I used rails of separation for captions that cut into the photos and partially cut-out specific details in photos like the hammer in the Thor photo to lead the reader’s eye into parts of the page. I included a modular story, which I chose to put it in a gold box with a black and white photo, to draw attention to what happened after the pageant as it was an important aspect to the whole story.
