Wood CNC

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. The process can be used to control a range of complex machinery, from grinders and lathes to mills and CNC routers. With CNC machining, three-dimensional cutting tasks can be accomplished in a single set of prompts.

As you can see in the end of this video because of my VCarve design my tabs were not big enough and connected in the right spot to help hold the wood together to prevent the wood from shifting like it did.

This is the half that got messed up because of the wood shifting.

This piece is from the left side and it came out mostly fine but I noticed that I could readjust one of the imensions to make it appear better.

Redesign

For my redesign I made the cut for the inside go down a half of an inch deeper I also moved the right piece closer to the left and added more tabs that were thicker to help hold it together.

This is the recut I did for my box and the lips did not stay for some reason causing it to mess up again however between this cut and my last one I was able to make a shut able box.

Final design

For the Final piece I used the left from my first cut and the right from my second cut to make a box that was able to shut. However the box was a little bit off in lining up.
