(Click here to go back to the main Zoom volunteering page)
Our goal is to get as many Anthem Ranch residents as possible to be able to use Zoom, at least minimally, to participate online (or even over a phone) in a growing number of Anthem Ranch activities that will be accessible via Zoom during the Aspen Lodge shutdown.
If you are willing to volunteer to help, here's what to expect:
1) Your name (and contact info and equipment-willing-to-train-on) will be added to the above page which may be viewed by hundreds of Anthem Ranch residents.
2) You will be added to a google group which may get a potentially high volume of email both from potential trainees and from other volunteers (all within Anthem Ranch). You may need to know how to filter emails away from your inbox to avoid getting overloaded. You (or I if you ask me) will be able to shut off the email if needed (temporarily or otherwise) and still view all emails on the google groups website instead.
3) You (and only members of the google group) will have access to some training documents specific to Anthem Ranch. These are "living" documents, in Google Docs and Sheets, and all volunteers are able to contribute to them so that we can learn together how to best deliver training.
4) You will need to make phone calls to other Anthem residents, evaluate the skills and equipment of trainees over the phone, determine how best they can participate in Zoom, and walk them through using Zoom for the first time. We don't know the volume of requests yet, but you will be able to decline any trainee... in most cases you will be volunteering to accept a trainee.
5) You will need to set up a free account on Zoom... you must host Zoom meetings to train others, and you cannot host a meeting without a free Zoom account.
If this sounds like something you can do, please email me at dan@magenheimer.com and I will add you to the group of volunteers! Please include your phone number and the equipment you have/use and are willing to train others on. Thanks for your consideration!
Cheers,
Dan
