SEA Teacher Programme (Southeast Asia Teachers) is an international exchange program initiated by Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
This program provides opportunities for pre-service teachers from Southeast Asia to gain hands-on teaching experience in another SEAMEO Member Country, Associate Member Country, or SEAMEO Affiliate Member.
SEA Teacher aims to improve the quality of education in Southeast Asia by allowing future teachers to teach abroad, exchange knowledge, and learn about different cultures and education systems.
Through this program, participants can experience teaching and learning environments in countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Japan.
The SEA Teacher Programmes aims to:
Improve the professional skills of pre-service teachers
Strengthen cooperation among Southeast Asian countries in education
Enhance cross-cultural understanding
Develop pedagogical competence through real classroom experience
Prepare future teachers to teach in diverse learning environments
This program benefits not only the participants but also contributes to the improvement of education systems in Southeast Asia.
The SEA Teacher Programmes is conducted in three main phases:

Pre-service teachers are placed in partner schools or universities to:
Observe classes
Assist teachers
Conduct teaching practice
Participate in reflective activities
This phase allows participants to gain real teaching experience in an international setting.
After completing the program:
Participants receive a Certificate of Completion from SEAMEO
Institutions join SEAMEO-hosted evaluation meetings
Graduates are included in the SEA Teacher Alumni Registry
