Volunteer Experience

Historic Gardner House

Cave City, KY.

In the Fall of 2016 I accompanied Western Kentucky University’s Vernacular Architecture class in a series of visits to the Historic Gardner House. During these sessions I worked to help preserve the House using a variety of techniques including, gardening, applying joint compound, sanding, and window glazing.

I returned the following year and again assisted in producing the narrative stage by carrying out various tasks including stage set-up, interviews, and photography.

Kentucky Crafted: The Market

Lexington, KY.

In the Spring of 2017 my classmates and I collaborated with the Folk Arts Program of the Kentucky Arts Council and traditional artists to create educational programming. I worked with Hong Shao, a traditional Chinese artist who plays the pippa. I later staffed and facilitated the programming at the Hands-On Area the Kentucky Crafted: The Market.
