Anna's Green Threds | Sustainable Fashion Brand

As a proud graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an advocate for sustainable design, I've created a one-of-a-kind line of Upcycled UMass Apparel. Curating vintage sweaters from the '80s and '90s, along with secondhand UMass apparel, I deliberately pair together one of each work to combine and construct an entirely unique piece that is mindful of the planet.

Custom Upcycled College Apparel

After countless inquiries from beyond the UMass community and having curated three successful collections exclusively for my alma mater, UMass Amherst, I'm thrilled to share that my Upcycled College Apparel is now available for everyone & any school!

Every spirited student, nostalgic alumni, proud parent, or dedicated faculty member deserves to rep their university wearing an entirely one-of-a-kind piece that's inherently mindful of the planet.

The classic design of my collections has 2 components: a secondhand university crewneck or hoodie, and a secondhand retro sweater, carefully paired together in wonderful, eco-friendly harmony.

the service cost + the materials cost.

SERVICE COST

This custom upcycling service offers 3 different service options – involving sourcing, curation, and construction.

Each service option has a different price, depending on the labor involved:

Complete Couture

Option 1

($75 + material cost)

I carefully source both a secondhand college crewneck or hoodie along with its perfect style match of a secondhand sweater, and combine the two. I work my best pairing magic for you!

Option 2

($60 + material cost)

I transform a college crewneck or hoodie already sitting in your closet by pairing it with a secondhand sweater I will carefully source for you, and combine the two.

MATERIAL COST

Secondhand materials vary in price. To get an idea upfront what the material cost will be, I've broken it down for you:

Secondhand college apparel ranges from around $25-$55 a piece, plus shipping from reseller to me* depending on size of university and availability of stock on online resale platforms.

Secondhand retro sweaters range from around $30-$80 a piece plus shipping from reseller to me*, depending on if the piece is vintage, how rare it is, what the fiber contents are, etc.

I always try to get the best, lowest deal on materials from resellers to provide the best, lowest price for my Upcycled College Apparel.

-For reference: the ranging cost of materials per finished sweater for my most recent Upcycled UMass collection was $80-$120, including material shipping costs.

*material shipping costs range depending on where in the U.S. materials are coming from, from around $8-$16 per item*.

TIMELINE

Once receiving a completed form, I will get in touch via email to confirm your interest within 1-2 business days. Upon your confirmation, I will begin my search for materials, and/or I will provide an address for you to ship materials for me to revamp.

For options 1 & 2, I will find and share several options for materials to make your piece, and will only purchase materials once receiving approval on your end.

For options 1 & 2, payment will be expected once we find and I purchase the perfect materials for you. I will provide the total (service cost + material cost). For option 3, payment of service cost will be expected upon client's confirmation.

Carefully sourcing and receiving materials takes 1-2 weeks. Upon receiving materials, for every service option, there will be a 1-week turnaround of production then shipping.
