Ankur Gupta PhD

Assistant Professor

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India

Currently, I am serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Jodhpur and my research interest is to explore innovative and inexpensive fabrication methods for microsystems for wide range of applications. Through various research problems-in-hand, I found out the cost effective methodology to realize embedded high aspect nanostructures, nano-porous films for various applications viz., sensing (gas/bio), water treatment etc. as well as worked on various microsystems design and development. Working in the interdisciplinary area, I have cultivated some basic understanding about the microsystems fabrication, nano-scale characterization techniques and most important; will to learn from other disciplines.

In my previous teaching assignments, I taught Advanced Manufacturing Processes, MEMS & Micro systems Technology, Ergonomics, Sensing and Actuation along with the other diversified courses like "Engineering Visualization", "Engineering Design" to B. Tech first year students, "Industrial Engineering" to B. Tech III year and "Precision & Micromanufacturing" to M. Tech. & PhD students of Mechanical Engineering.
