Welcome to
Animal Care Turangi
Animal Care Turangi is a small, volunteer-run charitable trust (registered NZ charity #CC23228) based in Tūrangi , New Zealand. Since 2017, we’ve provided a safe haven for lost, abandoned, sick, and injured animals across the region.
As a community-driven rescue, we don’t operate a traditional open-door shelter. Instead, animals are cared for in foster homes or at our appointment-only centre at 29 Hangarito Street, Turangi. We manage everything from intake and medical care to desexing, socialisation, and finding loving forever homes.
Our mission includes:
– Preventing cruelty and alleviating animal suffering
– Educating the community and advocating for responsible pet ownership
– Supporting desexing programmes to reduce unwanted litters
We are entirely volunteer-led and funded by donations. Every dollar helps cover the cost of food, vet bills, medication, desexing, and day-to-day care.
Your support makes all the difference. You can help by donating through:
